It started as a free form 'pagan' group , we did rituals, celebrations and events. I had always had an interest in western tradition (amongst other things ) and had always wanted to undergo initiation and become an initiate . I thought it was now lost to me. I could have sought it in the land I was born in (one side of it all) , but back then a LOT of indigenous culture was lost or underground and hidden for its preservation. The other side ( aside from ones 'earth connections' ) were my genetic socio cultural roots, and that was a western tradition. , although I am fairly eclectic . I wanted something , I wanted education and initiation in a system that was relent to me , I thought most of the western mystery and initiatory schools were defunct, Eventually I found some still had bona fide connections to original groups. I applied to join as an individual. 'magical stuff ' happened, it seemed indicative, then I was accepted. After a while some others I was associated with became interested , They joined. So we had a small regional group. As that progressed ( to a qualified level) we were eventually chartered to operate as a local initiatory body, as I outlined above. I 'founded' it I suppose, and mostly ran things 'behind the scenes' , but as far as 'running a branch' ie 'being head ' officially, I didnt take that position, over time, consecutively, two women did that . We still continued to work with others ; local pagan , wiccan and indigenous people, and the PPPA (pan pacific Pagan Alliance ) as well as regular OTO work we did annual performance of Rites of Eleusis https://hermetic.com/crowley/the-rites-of-eleusis/index seasonal rituals, maypoles, etc One Beltane was amazing, a lot of people put good effort into it , it was a 'pageant' - dancers, harp players , a chorus, etc . and a heap of other activities . One was a spring equinox ritual I ran at a festival, I expected about 20 - 30 people , 300 people turned up ... boy did that go off ! Amazing .... well, about 300 people thought so . I got to a level where the next stage was 'hermit' and since interest was failing in the system locally, I ... ' hermitted ' and got more into indigenous shamanism , something offered to me previously, that I had to 'put on the back burner' due to all the above. Its been an invaluable process , I'd hate to think of living my life now without what I got from it !

Hang on a minute there ..... 'sharing' is to and fro ... what have you offered us , so far you have asked for an awful lot, but I dont recall you ever offering to share anything . Most of the time you won't even engage or answer a question . Then you just keep putting up thread after thread on the same subject, not fully examining or responding to the dialogues already initiated . This does have an advantage ; it is indicative and a warning for you on our future path, that you have a tendency to get shallow and superficial, dart here and there, clutch what you seek and never really get deeply into a thing and track it and hunt its truth down. I realise however that it is a trend nowadays - not to be able to focus a lot on any given thing and to expect immediate gratification, Fortunately at this early stage, you can address this, before it beds in too much . I could talk a lot about the subjects you mentioned, but why bother, it may be glossed over like in the other threads. There you still have opportunity to chase up such lines of enquiry, instead of abandoning them and starting yet another one up again. But, I will forgive you .... and share 'The Secret ' !

You personally have done it ? And you detected they were angry or negative emotionally ? Is that the reason you did it or was there other reasons and you found out later they must have been that way ? And , what emotional state where you in when you did it ? A bundle of questions, I know, but the reason I ask is, some investigation has revealed to me that such things 'work better' if the 'operator' is in a highly charged emotional state themselves .

Everything in their scripture that was detrimental to their specific society was termed 'evil' . And everything that advanced it was good and holy. Eg, some types of ants were evil and some not . The ' grain carrying away' ants were 'evil' but other kinds were not . Bad deeds (like killing an otter ) could be atoned for by killing hundreds or thousands of 'evil' creatures ! So much for being the first religion to introduce animal rights ! ( Well, it did , for horses cows and dogs ... all beneficial to their way of life ) Even their prime concepts and understandings of 'spiritual' evil , and 'every day evil' were originally based on the people they were at war with, 'Davaeo , Daeva, Div , etc (or , as history knows of them , Turanians *. Their religion was even officially named as a movement against those people . Used to .... it closed years back . I use the term 'mystery school' as a general overall tag. 'Officially' was first a 'group' then, after development , was authorised as 'An initiating body' by the international HQ * of the group ( and I had to do years of training and get authorised to ) . The form of teaching and initiation is in 'dramatic ritual' - that form goes back to, at east, ancient Greece. More commonly known as O.T.O. , it used to be Christian based , Crowley was Grand master for a while and changed its direction; 'The ultimate goal of initiation in is to instruct the individual by allegory and symbol in the profound mysteries of Nature, and thereby to assist each to discover his or her own true Identity and individual purpose and life's work ( ie the reason you incarnated and the work associated - your 'spiritual mission' on earth , your 'True Will' and 'individual genius' .
