  1. Well, no offense chaps .... but go find divine or wisdom sounds like fortune cookie wisdom and a hand waving away . You get Steiney to give you a tarot reading ... at least it will be a little 'beefier' than the above two options.
  2. Ohhhhhhh ..... so there are times when you will back down from an ' argument ' !
  3. I will agree on the existence of a culture or civilisation if any proof of its evidence can be shown. Anthropologically and archaeologically I am fascinated by such stuff ... but one has to have something , < grasps at thin air repeatedly > to study .... like what has been turning up at Orkney recently ! Sorry folks, no space ships, ray guns, levitations , immortality ...... but then again, I aint chasing that stuff. But do let me know if any new evidence shows up .

    I will have you know there are NO left handed swordsman ! You ..... incorrect fellow, you ! I havent learnt one single left hand sword technique. I asked why and was told there were no left handed swordsman . ? After some research I found out one was 'not allowed to be' left handed as a swordsman in Japan. How can this be so ? Surely a left handed man would learn to use a sword left handed ? .... but then I realised ; Some guy in feudal Japan ; " Hey ! I am a left - handed swordsman ! " "Oh really? Show us ." ......... chop ! ...... not anymore ! " ( Ohhhh .... that's what they meant by 'not allowed to ' . )

  7. Horticulture,grow your veggies the tranquil path.

    I use a square plastic mesh, the spaces are small enough to not allow bower birds in (plant munchers) but let smaller insect and grub eaters in. For beans I just hang them from a bamboo culm hanging across the top of the bird net bamboo framing. very simple system (if you have a caged garden ) . I found some more old thick timber planks under the shed, so another new bed being made today ...... sun is up and shining on the patch , its cool and crisp .... I am out there and into it !

    Hmmm ... what's the diff between a 4 ' long knife from a 4' long one handed sword ? ..... Yes, it may look like an 'Indonesian Sabre ' ..... but is actually a straight sword that tried to piece my chest while I was practicing 'iron heart chi ' .
  9. what are the 3 most important...

    I dont think there are a basic main 3 ..... they come in levels, one needs to attain certain understandings ( often in groups of three, though ) to learn and understand more . Whatever they are considered to be , a good 'Master' should lead the student to them in a way the student discovers them for himself .

    Battling tree root invasion, I dug a deep trench on one 1/2 side, lined it with corflute and backfilled. The mixed in 1/2 bag of goodies. Then I suspended some plastic square trellis and going to plant purple king beans there next new moon. 2 days ago I planted broccilini seedlings. The broadbeans cant seem to make up their mind wether they are a dwarf varity or not , first flower came out this afternoon. And some corriander has started to sprout. Gotta think what else I can put in for autumn in the sub-tropics.

  18. Aside from Chucky ... and assembled montage of various utube stuck together ( with appropriate sound track ); Just a few of the imposters (no wonder he was supposed to have lived a long time ... and apparently , peeps still doin it ! ) First of all, a mime and English dialect comedian known as Milord Gower started impersonating St-Germain in Paris salons. His stories were wilder than the real Count’s – he had advised Jesus, for example. Inevitably, hearsay of his routine got confused with the original. He was said to be supported by jealous courtiers – possibly even Choiseul. Gower’s real name is given as Guave, Gauve, Gor, and Quoys; I’ve also found it spelled ‘Gaure’ in a poem by Claude Rulhière. 6 Casanova, of all people, also imitated St-Germain, during a trip to Switzerland in 1760. To further muddy matters, Casanova’s memoirs contain a description of the Count that has sown confusion for centuries – a long beard, an Armenian robe, and an ivory wand. These picturesque details, however, were added by Casanova’s editor, Jules Laforgue and weren’t corrected until the original text was published in 1960. 7 The Armenian robe is a curious touch, since that was Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s favourite outfit. The confusion is understandable; Rousseau himself adopted some of St-Germain’s mannerisms on his trip to England. As Rousseau buffs know, he also befriended a certain Claude Anglancier de St-Germain late in life. This St-Germain was treated to long paranoid letters, coincidentally revolving around Choiseul. Rousseau’s biographers have, on occasion, referred to Claude as the Count of St-Germain. There were, in fact, several more St-Germains to gum up the works. The most prominent was Count Claude-Louis de St-Germain, a French general who also served in Prussia and Denmark. Also notable were Pierre-Renault de St-Germain, French governor of Calcutta in the 1750s, and Robert-François Quesnay de St-Germain, active in several secret societies. Stories of the Count in India and at Masonic meetings can probably be traced to them. http://trianglebook.weebly.com/debunking.html

    Imagine how pleased ( and receptive ) your wife will be when she sees the new pinecone necklace you bought for her ! Please note ;
  20. simplicity of teachings

    That's it ! easy to 'meditate in nice garden , a bit harder during the 'daily grind' . I was taught to deal with 'complicate things' in this manner . " Sit in seiza . Maintain concentration on your one point and keep your ' composure ' . " ....... time passes ... "Now, stand and do this exercise " ..... " Did you maintain concentration on your one point when you stood ? Go back to seiza ! " Then I learnt how to do that. When I had " Nungali ! Go and bring me my bokken from the weapons rack . " Runs, gets sword runs back , offers it with bow " Did yo maintain your one point through that ?" Damn ! ... " Back to seiza ! " Then it was ... do all that while he rushes at me with sword screaming and stops a hair off my forehead . Then with an attack using a defensive technique and disarm . " After a while, one can find that same place with other 'complicated stuff' happening around you. That sorta deals with physical personal danger . Then there is the other 'tests' .... like pain .... and the emotions ! ( The Samurai dealt with pain this way ... but many their epic tales dealt with their 'mastery' butting up against their emotions
  21. simplicity of teachings

    I like this .... but ( hey, I am a year of the goat guy ) .... is it not the mind itself that decides and reconstructs such simplicity ? Over years, that is what my mind has done ..... Mind ; "What was all that about ? " Me; " Just working through some stuff and side issues. " Mind; " Have you got it yet ? " Me; " In a nutshell . " MInd; " Thank goodness - at last ! " ( Meanwhile 'That which is beyond me and mind ' observes smiling. )

    Indeed ... they are great for starting the fire , especially sprinkled with some candle wax from cleaning the candle sticks out. Its one of the few times I dont like the grass getting cut at the local reserve at the end of the road ... it shreds the pinecones . On another note ( to add a slight cheer in an otherwise rapidly diminishing cheerful world ) This park is one of the rare 'free camping' spots still in existence ; It has a nice park, pine trees, toilets, water, next to river, easy access, nearby a small rural shop ( that sells alcohol ) , fireplaces and free firewood delivered . # Day limit, but often the ranger never turns up to move people on . Should be more of ot IMO !
