What is the meaning of Siddhis or 'special powers'?
bax44 replied to Nikolai1's topic in General Discussion
Whats this mean? -
I tried the one leg standing w eyes closed.. Got about 10 sec on each leg!! Yikes. As a former athlete and practitioner of standing meditation I'm ashamed of myself hehe. Hopefully it doesn't mean in too psychologically unstable, although I've had an inkling this could b the case for awhile:) cool links.

Radical undoing has some good exercises for social anxiety.. Look them up on youtube, lot of body based exercises that release tension they are very good, also bioenergetics.. These all being you more into your body. One interesting one that seems to work magic for the exact issue you describe is gagging yourself. Yes I know how it sounds but doing it 5-6 times will release tension not only in your throat but deep in your solar plexus. Also screaming into a pillow does the trick too, suddenly it's like things open up and the tension is gone. Doing the exercises immediately before a stressful situation I find works best.

Review of "Bliss Energetics" book by Ron James . . .

I've found zhang zhuang gets this type of energy flowing nicely.. It's subtle at first and takes some dedication but it's definitely there after practicing for a while. Just my experience. -
A case of "Leaky Energy" in interpersonal relationship
bax44 replied to Yasjua's topic in General Discussion
The whole "leaky energy" thing to me sounds rather pretentious. Of course maybe I'm not advanced enough to feel when my energy is being drained to that extent but if I'm with someone who irritates me the way the op describes, I fail to see how it could be very loving and the simple answer could be it has just run it's course. I know i would hate ro be w someone who goes on a message board and tells everyone im draining them. Maybe not very spiritual answer but could be as easy as that. -
Wrong. Saw palmetto is an "anti-androgen"..meaning it cuts off 5 alpha reductase and smashed DHT into the ground. I wont bore you all with the gory details, saw palmetto may in the very beginning boost libido by freeing up some tesosterone, but kept at long enough its tantamount to chemical castration. easy enough to research this on the web. Its been claimed through marketing hype to be "good for the prostate" but in the end it seriously reduces male DHT levels and lets estrogen run rampant.
-
the op wants to destroy his sex drive? Literally probably the dumbest idea ever, but since he doesnt seem to be able to "transmute" it and wants real tangible ways to make it go away, may I suggest either estrogen therapy, or anti androgens such as propecia or even saw palmetto. these will lower your DHT and make getting an erection much more difficult, not only that, but they have the side benefit of making looking at an attractive lady(or man if your into that) about as appealing as staring at paint dry. Exciting stuff but its what you seem to be wanting. You may thoroughly regret this though at a later date. ask me how I know. But if youre determined, these are some surefire ways to drastically reduce or perhaps totally eliminate the essence of life. Recommend treading very carefully, friend, as you dont know what you have until its gone.... Edit: another way that you can research and find suitable evidence of a chemical radically changing ones nautral drive is to hop on an SSRI, these usually reliably make one castrated feeling in a time frame of a few months. If your really looking to kick things up a notch id recommend combinging a small dose of SSRI with some propecia/finasteride. Androgyny heaven! Im taking your OP seriously by giving you real world ways of accomplishing your goal, however I hope you can read between the lines in my post and see that I really really really hope you dont do anything stupid to yourself.

What can a beginner do to maximize his grounding? :)
bax44 replied to ivar3's topic in General Discussion

ANyone ever heard of stuff like this being triggered by meeting someone? Im not saying I have awakened kundalini per se however thinking back over the last yr and a half a lot of stuff thats happened to me has all began after I met someone (only a few times) and for reasons I cant really explain left an indelible impact on me in fact it led me to getting into meditation etc, and when Im thinking clearly I can almost "feel" that this was the event that set these types of changes in motion for me.It was in a dating scenario where we didnt end up being together however something about this person resonated with me so strongly it shook me up and precipitated major shifts in my awareness and life etc.and certain things thatare being described as "kundalini" have for sure been occuring for me.It has a sweet yet haunting feeling about it its kind of strange but it feels connected to what I have been going through this past time. sounds bizarre I know but I had never had any interest in anything spiritual in my whole life and it just sort of " happened" after meeting them. sorry if I derailed the thread!

itd be awesome if science could study this phenomenon. I think its been reported widely enough and long enough that it warrants investigation. thatd be pretty cool I think.
-
sounds like it would be quite unmistakeable if someone were to experience this. I find it pretty fascinating from the litte research ive done its seems some think its an actual biological mechanism that for whatever reason lay untapped in 99 % of the population. Do I have this correct? interesting stuff.

Anyone who says things like 'Your liver fire is too strong bla bla bla" which will "cause bad karma" and "youll reincarnate in the lower realms" I have a hard time taking seriously. No offense, Gerard, but that kinda stuff is pretty off putting to a lot of people especially those who are relatively new to spiritual pracitices. First of all, how are you so certain about this and how is it even quantifiable?I mean what if I contracted a liver disease through no fault of my own? Or my kidneys go bad? Oh well guess im fucked reincarnate as an antelope, too bad. Lol. shit like this grinds my gears as peter griffin would say. To me it seems like hot air regardless of what sacred text you supposedly read it in. What bothers me is you spew it as if its fact when in reality you dont even know. I find it funny your the one saying to remain grounded(which is probably good advice on its own) while at the same time saying these types of things. Seems like quite the paradox.

I agree I was just saying that If you did start having slight averse reactions to it, it really is a bitch to get off of. Lol the headaches alone are almost unbearable the first few days after quitting caffeine. But I agree the stuff is pretty harmless as long as its not overdone although there are plenty of people who think it does eventually put a pretty heavy strain on the adrenals, it does take a long time to clear out of ones system.

I used to drink a ton of caffeine mainly in coffee. I occasionally drink green tea now but rarely coffee anymore. Stuff just started to burn me out and with my already fragile system I can barely tolerate it anymore. But when I was real healthy I loved the stuff. I think if your in good shape physically it can be a nice performance enhancer as long as you dont become hooked.(easier said than done) and if you dont think its addicting try having a starbucks everyday for 6 months then suddenly quit.....
