What soaring crane said is right and wrong. There's synthetic b12 which they put in fortified cereals, bread, etc. so every time you eat these things technically you are ingesting synthetic un usable vitamins. Namely cyanocobalmin(inactive b12).. Methyl cobalamin and adenob12 are the active forms present in meats especially beef liver. These are the forms useable by the body along with methylolate, which has been substituted in our food supply for folic acid, the inactive form which many many people can't convert to methylfolate, which is crucial for the biochemical process of methylation.

You guys should look into methylation. Mostly under methylation. B vitamins, b12 especially is involved in methylation which is involved in over 300 biochemical processes on the body. In the last ten years methylation protocols have come about which have shown substantial benefit to people with chronic fatigue, lymes, ms, and a ton of other things. Many of these people have HIGH b12 on blood tests along with high folic acid. The general theory seems to be due to the addition of synthetic vitamins in our good supply a whole bunch of disease states which rarely used to exist have come about due to these displacing the active forms of b12 and causing all sorts of havoc... This goes pretty deep but that's a general overview and anyone can research it online. Sublingual b12 works just as good as injections but need to be the correct form and brand as well as be held in the lip for an hour at a time. Many more people can benefit from methylation protocols and b12, and the thought that because your serum b12 is in range or even high means that you don't need it is being found out to be completely false. My b12 and folic acid is off the charts high and I recently got on a methylation protocol w 2 active forms of b12 and methylfolate and am feeling better than I have in a long while. B12 shots had the same effect on me as Horus described. Anyone who has this dramatic of an effect from supplemental b12 is likely deficient at the cellular level and needs to get it fixed ASAP. Methylation affects immunity, detoxification, nerves, myelation, nuerotransmitters.. Hormones.. It goes on and on. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Oops just realized the op article goes in depth about telemores. The effects on gh, cortisol and oxytocin are intriguing as well. -
Can meditation reduce the effects of ageing? (study)
bax44 replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
There was a study showing meditation increases the release of growth hormone, lower cortisol, etc. also it is said to be able to increase telemore length, which is huge in anti aging. Ill try and find the link, actually believe there may be a few studies on this at least. -
Most I've ever done is around an hour and a half. Unfortunately it's not my mind at that point that can't go on it's my lower back and tingling asleep legs lol. I'd love to go longer but I think lying down right now for me is the only way I'd get there.

Lol... Wow. Maybe good thing you're not too, we'd all have the spooky koond-a-lini ruining our lives. -
He makes it sound as if he just sat down one day and this happened to him the first time he meditated?? Or did I miss something? Wouldn't that be umm somewhat rare? Lol

Idk but I really hope you didnt pay the ridiculous price they charge for that "bulletproof coffee" seeing as you can make the stuff yourself at home for about 1/5 the price.

how do you find a legit practitioner / teacher / instructor ?
bax44 replied to mike 134's topic in General Discussion
Why are you so sure this is what your problem is? You seem to be so fixated on it but it could be a multitude of other things besides "kundalini".. You claim to have awakened something that from my research seems exceedingly difficult to get going and are attributing things to this phenomenon. Have you had any actual medical tests done, etc? Not trying to doubt you but maybe getting you to look a little more outside the kundalini paradigm for whatever issues may be occuring. -
Has anyone experienced this change in energy?
bax44 replied to manitou's topic in General Discussion
Ive noticed this type of thing lately as well. i started practicing bioenergetics and reichian exercises about a month and half ago along with my normal meditation and idk if its just made me a lot more aware of my body or what but I get tingling in all parts of my body seemingly at random times, especially in my legs and arms/hands like you describe. its definitely a pleasurable feeling. -
Sounds like testosterone injections lol.

Hey man I can empathize w what your going through. If you want to I made a thread on here called "7 months into meditation..weird issues".. If you wanna look it up and read through I got some great advice and feedback in it.. I see a lot of myself and what you are describing. I have no clue how to link to the thread or I would but definitely check it if you want.

taking supplements just as good as practices ? for libido
bax44 replied to mike 134's topic in Healthy Bums
ok, I agree with most of your post all I was warning was for the op not to touch saw palmetto as youd recommended earlier...and your still kind of recommending it,,Ill say it again, inhibiting DHT for a guy is rarely EVER a good thing, and the stuff is potent. prostate troubles as I said before are more likely caused by elevated estrogens..saying if someone has body hair they have dht and if not they have estrogen is way too black and white. EVERYONE has dht and estrogen. you dont just suddenly lose all your body hair if you lower your dht and raise your estrogen .(well unless you start taking feminine hormones, but thats a different story and not the type of manipulation we are discussing.) If anyones curious what anti androgens can do to a male just look up post finasteride syndrome or even look up saw palmettos side effects. this has nothing to do with being "too yang" or whatever its not something guys no matter how yin or yang they are should really be messing with if they like having a libido.just my very experienced opinion take it fwiw. -

Andrei, Im assuming that was some sort of reply to my recommendation to not take saw palmetto? All that article talks about is hair loss, and even in that article it came to the conclusion that not just dht is responsible. I dont see how this is even relevant to this thread, as the op is looking for ways to increase libido..which by inhibiting DHT with use of things like saw palmetto will do the opposite of what he wants. Again, im not making this up..one can easily find numerous horror stories on the web of guys using anti androgens to very bad effects on their sexuality. these substances dont just reduce DHT in the scalp, they do so systemically which is very very unwanted. inhibit DHT and testosterone has nowhere else to go except..estrogen. this obviously isnt optimal lol. Other than that, idk what the point of that post was..the op wasnt asking about hair loss, unless i missed something. -

Second the sunlight recommendation. Someone recommended saw palmetto..DO NOT TAKE... This stuff is an "anti androgen".. Like finasteride.. Anti androgen... Think about it. Dht is not the bad guy the media etc portrays it. Do some research dht is crucial for a mans libido and they are finding estrogen is in fact the main problem in prostate issues. You can find lots of anectodal reports of guys totally losing function on same palmetto and other anti androgens. I have personal experience w the stuff. Stay far away. -

Well Viagra doesn't really increase libido.. Just makes things easier lol. Why do you say no one should take pde-5 inhibitors? Plenty of science coming out now that are saying they have plenty of other benefits besides just for ED. -

And fish oils in super large doses can have the opposite effect of what you seek. Just throwing that out there. -

bax44 replied to mike 134's topic in Healthy Bums
I'd try out some bioenergetic exercises.. Specifically the bow... Here's a good example http://vimeo.com/m/12751836 Not exactly sure how this works but it definitely released a ton of tension and makes you feel very centered and grounded.. In my experience the "vibration" which occurs is mostly sexual energy. Give it a shot. Practice everyday for best results. There's also tons more exercises obviously but the bow will give you a good intuitive feel for it. -
You can do horse stance for 40 minutes? wow. I can only get 4 minutes and ive been training it for 4 months. Are you doing 90 degree stance or are you talking higher?

Lol second time this week I was thinking about a topic and came here to find someone had posted a thread about it. I commented earler today to a relative that I'd been feeling quite weird this past week and he had been acting erratic to me the past few days. Then my friend calls me earlier and says she can't sleep and feels off. Coincidences? Idk.

Ever had reality transition right into the dream state?
bax44 replied to Owledge's topic in General Discussion
Right before I came to taobums just now I was thinking to myself how reality could just be a dream lol. of course I have had this thought before but just found it funny I thought that and then came here and this thread was up. Anyways yeah this has happened to me too as well in fact quite a few times. -
Why are there NO reputable writings or research on kundalini ?
bax44 replied to mike 134's topic in General Discussion
So is the consensus that kundalini is basically an evolutionary energy? i hadnt heard the term til I joined here and like has been said the definitions on the interwebs are sporatic at best. Best I can tell and from reading what son of the gods posted is that is appears to be the case..
