  1. Zhan Zhuang - Suggestions for Short Practice

Yep i tend to do deep kua squats and the spinal wave before any practice (alogn with stretches.)
  2. Ling Bao Tong Zhi Neng Nei Gong Shu

I don't think it is as basic as all that, as some sections specifically require decent progress before they can be tackled (don''t have the book to hand at the moment so I can't check) but you may be misled by the fact that the manual does not discuss any 'abilities' that may arise from reaching the different stages. I have it on good authority that the manual was only ever intended to be used alongside a teacher, not instead of.
  3. Ling Bao Tong Zhi Neng Nei Gong Shu

King, I think many neidan methods are similar to MP levels one and two...they are pretty standard. However, have a look through the rest of the book if you have it. In my opinion there is nothing similar to the fusion claimed by MP, though that's not to say that the results are dissimilar (I do not speak from experience however.) I do not think the higher levels are included in the book either, just beginner and intermediate, though perhaps others can correct me on this. I know there are Longman Pai practitioners among us here on the forum.
  4. Zhan Zhuang - Suggestions for Short Practice

Thanks SC - I appreciate your input and you r advice about the knees. This is interesting indeed. I have been told by experienced qigong/neigong practitioners to bend the knees so they are just behind the toes. I would be interested to hear other people's opinions on this matter. Thanks for the book link too
  5. Zhan Zhuang - Suggestions for Short Practice

Thanks Wayfarer, for the recommendation and the info. That is serious dedication. Impressive.
  6. Zhan Zhuang - Suggestions for Short Practice

Thanks Steve - I have managed to get a copy of this book and it looks excellent. Exactly what i am after. Cheers
  7. Zhan Zhuang - Suggestions for Short Practice

Thanks GreytoWhite, but I do the Ji Ben Qigong forms in the evenings, which are similar. I wanted specifically some standing forms to complement the moving forms.
  8. any info on damo qigong?

    Thanks SG, that's very interesting.
  9. any info on damo qigong?

Do any of the bums here have more recent experience of the DaMo qigong material? There is an excellent practical guide to internal alchemy, and as mentioned above the writing shines with what feels like 'truth' but has anyone had experience of the retreats or the correspondence course? (http://www.taoiststudy.com/content/damo-qigong-home-study-course) Just wondered if there was anything to offset Loke's Loke-warm (sorry ) comment above.... thanks
  10. Christian Qi Gong Masters !?

    WHat isn't (mystical)?
  11. The Scholar Sage. Online Daoist Magazine

I am working through his Neigong book (and Heavenly Streams) but am not very advanced. The material and presentation are excellent. I get alot from the Ji Ben qigong exercises, though I have not made progress with the LDT work, but I wouldn't expect to at this point....I believe it can take many months before there is a proper awareness of the LDT.
  12. Daoist Diet - Meal Suggestions?

Thanks SC that winter brew looks interesting....would you class it as a meal, or a drink? Will have to give that a try
  13. Christian Qi Gong Masters !?

This concurs with the Qabalistic view of CHristianity which puts it - along with all other religions of the sacrificed god - only as high as TPhARTh on the tree of life....it can be used as a bridge to something higher, but it must be transcended in order to proceed to the unity of KThR
  14. Daoist Diet - Meal Suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestions of recipes Tursiops, and yes this is particularly useful....as I mentioned above I am useless at making meals....it's not so much what to eat I need help with, but suggestions of how to combine ingredients into simple meals. So yes I would be most grateful if you could post details of your garlicky pasta and fried rice.... feel free to put it in the thread here as I'm sure plenty of others will be interested too. cheers
  15. Daoist Diet - Meal Suggestions?

Thanks all, some great general advice and much to think on. All - ok , most - of the responses have been really helpful. There's a good few gems up above, but I was away for a few days and came back and was overwhelmed by the responses otherwise would've thanked people in detail.
  16. Daoist Diet - Meal Suggestions?

Wallum - that is excellent advice, very useful and informative and exactly what i was after. Thanks very much flavours are fine for me I will eat anything...and I'm not a veggie but am trying to reduce meat intake, so this all looks excellent.
  17. Christian Qi Gong Masters !?

For anyone interested in this, the above article is a single chapter of a book, the full contents of which can be seen here: http://www.chinaforjesus.com/resources/qigong/index.html I haven't read it all yet, but looks interesting (if you ignore the obvious propagandist motive and instead focus on the mechanics of the qigong elements.)
  18. Daoist Diet - Meal Suggestions?

Thanks all for the input, and the links! I realise rice and soup would be a staple (brown rice?) but am interested in hearing specific meals e.g. what do people have themselves for brekky/lunch/dinner? That veggy patty does indeed look beautiful CT, but that's wayyyy beyond my ability and the time i would have to make it....maybe for a weekend project, but not something I can knock up in 20 mins when i get back from work or prepare for the next day's lunch etc.
  19. Christian Qi Gong Masters !?

I agree with TheLerner above, definitely - and will keep this short at the risk of digressing from the OP's point - but it seems like the chap in the link above had the guidance and nurture of his family from the start, which one would think would be the ideal situation for cultivation. I would imagine that the neigong inherently comes with the associated spiritual/ethical teachings in such an environment. But perhaps not.
  20. Christian Qi Gong Masters !?

Actually this one: http://www.lausanne.org/content/chinese-case-study is absolutely fascinating with some good information. Obviously he's lost his way by the end of it - a risk of Neidan by all accounts - but the details up to that point are very much worth a read.
  21. Scottish Independence

That map misses off Cornwall and London...
  22. Happy Equinox

It is in the UK.... I echo Apech's sentiment to all Bums
  23. Scottish Independence

yep my money's always on the cat....
  24. Scottish Independence

I think you vastly underestimate the number of scots who may actually just want to be part of the union with all the benefits that entails the simplest explanation is usually the most accurate.
