Call it what you want, but the fact remains that these diversions happen because you barge into these threads and accuse everyone of roleplaying. You aren't some innocent victim of trolling here, all the criticisms made of your opinions are a direct response to you shoving those opinions down peoples throats. If you want these discussions to stay in one thread, then stick to that thread when you want to make your entirely baseless assertions that the system you practice is the only valid one in existence.
-
If you want people to keep their criticisms of your opinions to that thread, you should limit your 'every system but Mo Pai is roleplay' schtick to it as well.
-
I already have something real thanks And I'm not trolling, just trying to get you to see that your absolute and universal rejection of every system that isn't Mo Pai is baseless and unfounded.
-
Awwwww. Do you wanna to show me on the doll where the bad guru touched you?
-
Are you sure? These guys look pretty legit: http://www.thelivinglightfoundation.com John Chang might have been able to do some pretty cool stuff, but he couldn't perform crystal vortex activation or dragon magick!

So while you were travelling the world investigating every single bioenergetic system out there, you also took the time to personally meet up with every occult/new age author as well? Damn dude, that's pretty impressive.
-
Wait, are they hippies or nerds? You're mixing your stereotypes.

perfect for meditating
-
Could you provide a context? Possibly a reference to the astral light?
-
Damn, I knew I should have asked for a pair with the 'take part in an in depth exploration of dozens of bioenergetic systems simultaneously' function.
-
I'm still waiting for you to back that statement up with an account of your extensive experience with the various metaphysical and bioenergetic systems around the world

Not everyone wants the same things you do. I'm not speaking for myself here, since we actually have pretty similar goals, but there are plenty of people who just want something to make them healthier or enhance their martial arts practice, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Lol. I don't know enough about Reiki to properly judge it one way or the other, although I get the impression that it's probably nonsense. The problem isn't that we have different definitions of validity, it's that you think the only requirements for a system to be valid should be your own. Any system which actually delivers what it promises is valid, after that it just comes down to what someone wants out of practice. If they want superpowers and spiritual immortality, then Mo Pai is probably a good bet. If they want something else (or just don't want to give up sex and multiple hours of every day), it isn't going to be much use for them.
-
Fairly certain the majority of people here accept that Mo Pai is a valid system. They just don't reach the same conclusions from that as you do.

If I can fart lightning bolts my block never have to worry about a blackout - does that count?
-
What power do you want? The system which would be best for allowing you to heal isn't the same system as would be best for allowing you to practice astral projection, or to have martial power. That's the point I was making in my first post. You're never going to achieve anything if you can't first decide exactly what it is you want to achieve.

Emptying the mind is a good starting point, as an empty mind will make working with energy much easier, but in itself it generally isn't enough to develop any kind of power or expanded consciousness.
-
You aren't going to find many teachers demonstrating their powers on youtube. Although Gary Clyman (?) has a channel, if you're thinking in terms of internal martial energy. As far as I understand it, that kind of meditation is quite likely to never yield any overt signs, in terms of powers or overt energetic events, as its primary purpose is learning to calm and focus the mind.
-
That's what a good system will give you, a clear path towards attaining what you want to attain. What type of meditation do you actually practice? If all you do is basic focal meditation or breathing exercises, then it's highly unlikely imo that 2 years will be enough to give you access to any kind of power or 'supernatural' experience, and even with 10 years it isn't guaranteed. If you want a certain ability, you should train specifically for that ability. My understanding is that, generally speaking, most 'powers' are a function of the capacity of the energetic body to direct various energies and forces, and as such you need a system which will allow you to train yourself to sense, accumulate and direct the appropriate energies.

Find a system where the top end practitioners/teachers can do the things you want to do and live the way you want to live, then dedicate yourself to that system in the same manner that they did.

Energy Cultivation and electrical devices
Aeran replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in General Discussion
Not stop working, but I got quite a shock from a broken lamp switching on for a few seconds with a loud crackling electrical sound while I was practicing qi gong once. No idea if it was actually caused by the qi gong though. -
There aren't a lot of people who've completed the whole IIH course, and those that have generally don't post randomly about their experiences on public forums. IMO your best bet for obtaining specific information about the more high end techniques would be to contact the authors of the various commentaries or supplements.

Poll: Why do you keep visiting the Taobums website ?
Aeran replied to chegg's topic in General Discussion
I think a lot of it has to do with your social circles. I know the vast majority of people I hang out with are those I met either through Uni or the club/music scene, neither of which have a thriving population of occult/energetic practitioners. Those I have met in this city who are even remotely spiritual tend to be new age caricatures. Even when I started taking meditation classes, it was more or less exclusively middle aged suburbanites looking for a way to deal with the stress of their 3 kids & middle management jobs. -
