  1. Hi Brian, I normally do simple meditation every morning (focusing on my breathing), and simple exercises practising mindfulness and attention to the flow of qi. I'm not sure if that's 'energy cultivation' really, but this is what i do. I still regard myself as a beginner (i'm only 18, so i got time to get this right). i have also reduced the amount of ejaculations to one per week, which greatly increases my energy throughout the day. I have difficulty (with regards to willpower) becoming totally abstinent as I like having a high libido. Becoming totally celibate makes me feel asexual and tired again, which is what Mantak Chia also recognised. He said i shouldn't become completely abstinent (in his book 'the multi-orgasmic man'), as if i don't use it, i will lose it (which i certainly do not want). I hope you can understand this. My knowledge of Taoism and energy cultivation is relatively poor compared to most on this forum.
  2. I have tried shifting my mind away from sex, but it doesn't seem to work. It's like ignoring an itch. Sooner or later, the itch begins to disappear, but there is no increase in mental or physical energy. If anything, trying to ignore the sexual energy tires me out. Also, are you being literal when you say sleep and rise with the sun? If that was the case, then i'll have only 9 hours of being awake in my location in the UK! Life's too short to sleep for 15 hours everyday during the winter!
  3. What's wrong with Mantak Chia? He explains everything very well (apart frm sexual transmutation unfortunately). But i read a lot of comments on here that are negative of him. I don't know why. EDIT: Does Roger Jahnke's book describe how to do sexual transmutation and/or allow the flow of stagnant qi around the groin? (I think that's the same thing). Thank you for your help
  4. No. I mean don't use excessive new-age/taoist terminology, vague metaphors and directions, but, well, be concise and easy to understand. Which is what i said.
  5. Hi :)

Hi everyone, I'm an 18 year old guy from the UK. I've been reading books by Mantak Chia and meditation books by various authors, and i would like to know more about Taoism, i find it very interesting. Ryan
