Somehow I found parts of the Surangama Sutra more useful for that purpose. Can hardly tell why.
-
Yes, also thought about starting new as a thread in Off Topic Thanks for your answer

Oh, you are older than mee ... Also not using make-up, but actually I frequently prefer to not look like a girl. Who would like to have their skin covered with all these artificial ingredients all the time anyway; can hardly be healthy. Breathing skin is better.

lol, for me they need not ^^ Nice aura is more important than such a shit. But sometimes male reactions when they notice that originally females do have hairs on different parts of their bodies implicates they are, hmm, highly ignorant that it's .. WORK to look like a model or so *shrinks

As you're at the topic and it's hot here, what I'd actually like to know: Do you guys dislike short skirts and bikinis if one wouldn't shave legs etc., or would you still prefer to see an unshaved body in short skirts and bikinis...? So, is it actually more important to see a leg half-naked or to see a half-naked leg that looks like you'd prefer it to look like? oO

Hmmhmm, don't know if that would work. As I had mentioned somewhere, I've been on a forum where a dozen users are playing this "new nick - guess who I am"-game all the time, for years. Actually in most cases you will notice that it's the same person sooner or later, nobody can pretend forever, and I hardly think it would be healthy to do so either. Sometimes just eradicating some of the worst aspects might be a worthwhile first step.

Lol, I can definitely approve for that ^^ @Jared, I'd suggest you just contribute something wholesome to the forum, preferably not another time the "real Mo Pai did never get a voice and moderators are biased" story. I think if you do instead just look around and participate in a healthy way there'll hardly be problems. No idea how being friends with anyone might be a problem anyway, as long as you don't intend to bring his war/fight to places where people don't appreciate that. PS: But actually I did already tell that to some other guy who got banned shortly afterwards for repeating exactly this same story, so I'm not optimistic about your (this nicks) future on the board anyway. No matter what your IP looks like.

Hmmm, wait, where have I last seen that argument .. Really have to think about it ... This clearly polar thinking, this absolute lack of capability to grasp the whole picture .. I've seen it somewhere.. Will go meditate to figure it out ... *whispers "Join the dark side.. we have cookies!" ^^

If you practice sitting meditation, which position do you use?
Yascra replied to Vitalii's topic in Daoist Discussion
Oh, I didn't mean to contradict, just being interested. I'm not doing special practices, just some visualisations occasionally, but most of the time emptiness-meditation, or simply exercising "letting go". Today I noticed that a visualisation of rain washing you from the head downwards resulted in an energy-flow of the same direction (from head downwards), but usually that's not so much the case for me. -

Hm, don't know, but I do definitely feel energy movements in my legs in full lotus. Can't tell definitely whether that's wind or real Chi, but there's definitely happening something. oO -

Hmm, don't know. Maybe I'm not doing it correct, for I didn't train for years or something. I just like it because it allows to sit relatively long in a stable position, so if you want to keep your body in one position without moving I simply find it to be the most relaxing posture to do so. Might be different for other people, though. -
Well, if you ask me this place here is harmless concerning this, at least if you compare it to the habitual tone of more than one solely buddhist forum. I've seen mods in other places behave in such ways. Really not nice locations to be.

Hmm, do you think someone should fil in that gap? Maybe I'd volunteer for the task =)
-
Excuse me, might you repeat that in simple words for a silly bum like me? Or anybody else'd like to explain...?
-
Difficult, with all it's complicated language. Which is why I'd say people would be better off to start with Christianity, that's much more easy, and to reach liberation it's absolutely sufficient
-
I'd be careful with that, I feel that quite some people in this place here are not half as ignorant as you'd like them to be

how do you find a legit practitioner / teacher / instructor ?
Yascra replied to mike 134's topic in General Discussion
I would just not do Kundalini yoga if your system is already active. Don't know how it works in your place, but in Germany being instructor just means people know how to teach the physical part to materialists, not that they can handle problems of people who really get the effects that should happen. And Kundalini yoga, as far as I got to know it, includes some quite forceful techniques whch will not be of much benefit if you do already have problems. Maybe better start some calm practice, like Anapanasati or even just emptiness meditation. Maybe additionally some visualisation method to help balance your energy. And if it's really getting too demanding on a physical and/or psychological level, you might consider just taking a break from practice for some days. Some things just have to happen. Best is to not stand in the way when the snake bites you. -
Hmm, we are out to watch you, hehehehehe *evilgrin* .. Welcome

*carrying in some boughs *building some chair in town hall *making some little camping fire *watching people Nice place here

Hm, I've had contact to at least one person who has had a master who would attack, attack, attack all the times.. If you have students who believe in the authenticity of someone, and generally under religious coverings, it's sometimes hard to believe what people accept to have done to themselves without even thinking about that this might not be okay. It is "skillful means", by definition, if a "holy person" uses violence. How would a master commit a crime anyway .. and what karma would it be to bring someone who is an enlightened master, or considered one, to the courtyard, just because you "fail to recognize the wisdom of his or her actions".
-
Well, the real problem of it is that most of the Zen guys adopting this "crazy" and "harmful" behaviour are really just latent psychos who haven't done all necessary purification, and really don't apply those harmful methods because it is the most appropriate for his one particular student, and then once in a lifetime .. but just because they are religious people who believe that copying a master makes them a master, and who mainly really suffer from imbalances in their own being, acting out evil or aggressive tendencies within their own personality. It's a general problem people have in religion. Having people bow to monks will make the monks the most proud and arrogant people around; having people look up to persons who act out of rage will make people who want to be teachers of those folks succumb to their own aggression and sociopathic behavioral patterns. Nothing against a real Zen master using a stick. But, as far as I'm concerned, such a real master would not need this method more than half a dozen times in his whole life for the "right" purposes. The rest of what's seen and happening in those lineages tends to be cultivating bad behaviour.

Yascra replied to Vitalii's topic in Daoist Discussion
If it's for longer than twenty minutes full lotus, as good as I can, preferably with cushion, otherwise full or half lotus. Though I have to say that sometimes I'm doing accidental meditation in whatever posture I'm in at that moment, might that be between two steps on the street or sitting in a chair. -
Newsletter maybe, so not PM but E-Mail? Though there is still the option for users to deactivate receiving News, I'm afraid.
