  1. Tea Appreciation Study Group

Cool thread idea! I started loving teas only about 3 years ago. Personally I love green teas and Matcha, but only recently started to explore Pu-erh teas. Haven't tried Oolongs yet but will. Also I like to drink Guayusa tea - it is said to help open the pineal gland, or decalcify it. It was used by shamans to stay awake and alert during night watches.
  2. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hi Sifu Terry, hope you are well! Thank you for the sleep inducing suggestions and tips to Aeran and the rest of the group. Just to clarify because I am wondering, at point "B" did you mean MSW#3 or maybe MSW#4? Because I thought MSW#3 would be the "wake-upper" and shouldn't be done at night. Also I am interested in what the "Guardian at the gates" exercise is about. Is it from the advanced FP system or Tao Tan Pai? Thank you very much, best wishes, Julian
  3. Thank you very much that will be on my book list then! (as for the tangent: haha, I was just old enough to start using the PC when my parents got a 33.6kb Internet modem and we used an AOL software to get "in", despite being from Germany. So, I know the funny sounds, which I won't ever forget, and the long waits :))
  4. Thank you, Taomeow, for this thread and the insights. As a complete beginner in this field, where can/should I start learning about astrology and how to learn about my birth chart. Do you or the others have good starting tips, book recommendations? Also, how has this kind of knowledge benefited you before? I am curious. Thank you and greetings! Julian
  5. The Energy Cultivator's Handbook

I also have to say thank you for your work and compilation! Regarding the Buteyko method, do you still do it? What has it brought you so far if yes? This method sounds interesting and I believe the method should be very good for the health - I just don't understand why Wim Hof's method also works then, when having a series of strong breathings followed by a hold. Greetings
  6. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Thanks Aeran, yes, that stretch looks great but I don't know if I got it right from the book. Will try to search for a youtube video for that stretch.
  7. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

That's great - I also happen to read that book at the moment. Is the hip stretch in there or from somewhere else? In the evenings I try to sometimes stretch for some minutes, I think in the long run it will be worthwile.
  8. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

I also try to do at least 2 of those categories - will also try to incorporate all 4 in one day. I actually made the new year's resolution to do twice as much FP this year, about 40 to 60 minutes a day. Hopefully I will hold this resolution - so far I am doing quite well and am feeling very good throughout the day. Sometimes there is a lingering bliss feeling Very cool about your recommendation - I will definitely try it out! Maybe tonight or tomorrow, will report back. Best, Julian Also: Can someone recommend me something to get flexible in the legs? I am still very stiff in hips and legs, so that I can't yet sit properly in normal crossed leg posture or half lotus. Has BTB helped you in this regards? Last BTB session I felt some fluid release sensation in my hamstrings.

Interesting, I see myself in your post Aeran. I also pretty much stayed intuitively with Monk holding Pearl, Monk gazing at moon and the BS#2 for a long time. Mostly I did MHP right before bed and still do to have a very good sleep. Yesterday I did the "Sleeper" again since a long time and the sleep was also very very good afterwards. Since I did some exercises more than the others and neglected BTB and the MSW meditations greatly, I want to focus on especially these meditations in the coming weeks. So your post inspired me to do that, thank you
  10. Trakata/Candle Gazing

That's also what I am curious about. Also I have heard candle meditation could heal shortsightedness, so I think I will try that out some time.
  11. The Taoist and Chopsticks

Thank you very much I will have a look into these kind of pots.
  12. The Taoist and Chopsticks

@Taomeow As I haven't researched that before and still use stainless-steel pots most of the time, could you please give an example pot and/or pan which you use, that are reputed to leak nothing? Would it be such a dutch-oven pot? https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-EC6D43-Enameled-6-Quart-Island/dp/B000N501BK Thank you and greetings
  13. Thank you for the book/person tip, I will check it out. I am German but only knew his name... That would be f***ed up if he was murdered. When I just used Wikipedia for a very quick overview it was stated he died of a heartattack at an age of 56. There are obviously people dying of heartattacks at such ages but I would say it is not very likely...
  14. Yes, perfect timing indeed. It's laughable... trillions are missing for years with noone really searching for them and now they come through with this little million dollars UFO program... The thing is, unfortunately they only want partial disclosure and open up people's mind just that tiny bit that the people can fear a new bigger enemy, a threat from outer space...
  15. Hey there, does anyone have some healthy breakfast ideas for me? Since my body at the moment can't tolerate gluten, the ideas should be gluten-free. What do you eat in the morning? Background to that is that currently I don't give me enough time in the mornings before work and only eat two gluten-free toasts with either some chicken breast and or cheddar cheese. Don't judge me for that laziness, despite eating relatively healthy in general I need some other choices/ideas, as I also don't seem to tolerate sugar or high amounts of carbohydrates well. The toasts aren't optimal therefore. Thanks and greetings, Julian
  16. Demineralized teeth

Hi Gerard, thank you very much for the link will do it at the beginning of the year, for the first time. But is it mandatory to do the fast afterwards? I know it would be very beneficial but I am already rather slim right now, maybe also due to a cold condition. I don't want to lose more weight... Greetings
  17. Healthy breakfast ideas (gluten-free)

I am also interested as to why this wouldn't be a good idea - since I also use almond milk. And thank you all for your ideas and participating
  18. Demineralized teeth

Hi Gerard, I would be interested to know the whole procedure. Maybe I will try such a flush beginning of next year. Thank you very much, greetings
  19. Healthy breakfast ideas (gluten-free)

Wow, very cool! Thank you for the picture and idea Also thanks Gerard for the soup recommendation. For this one I will have to challenge the inventory of the Asia markets around here. Never used these ingredients. I think I will try some of the medicinal congees first, especially the ones for the cold condition. Maybe this will help if I make it for some days. I saw a recipe where you freeze the rice before. This way you could make a decent congee in 15 minutes as the rice will cook faster or falls apart faster.
  20. Healthy breakfast ideas (gluten-free)

Thank you, I will. I think I haven't had a good congee yet, so I have some preconceptions about the taste
  21. This just caught my eye - didn't know that dish/recipe before and googled it. Will definitely try it out. Not to derail this thread but just wanted to say that I have found a good cooking video of it. The guy in this video sliced the tomatoes in a special way not to lose too much tomato fluids... Thought I leave it here. Also I got very much inspired to once again try to make bone broth and then stew
  22. Healthy breakfast ideas (gluten-free)

Thanks! Yes, oatmeal could work if I take the gluten-free oats. I have also tried a variant with rice flakes but it wasn't that good to stay as a main breakfast option. Also thought of trying a Quinoa, Buckwheat, Red millet mixture as a kind of granola. Anyone tried something like that? The one egg omelet idea is very good - didn't think of it yet. When I do omelets it is mostly with 3 eggs and takes a bit longer.
  23. Small heavenly orbit

Thank you for your answer. Very nice on the vagus nerve and the nervous system. I should do the exercises also more often... But do you already know that you could learn the rest of the system from Sifu Terry Dunn? At least I know that he knows the shen exercises, the Six Stars, The Nine Flowers and The Five Dragons. I don't think that the whole system is lost.
  24. Small heavenly orbit

@Apeiron&Peiron Do you speak of the 31 TTP exercises in the middle of your post? Would be interested to hear your experiences with it if you don't mind. So far I have only learned the first 5 exercises of them and doing them occasionally since I am doing mainly FP. I don't want to split this thread, so you could also PM me... On topic, I also tried the small universe meditation from spring forest and found it a good safe way. But since it is not my main system I haven't done that meditation very often. Yet I think it can be very potent in the long run.
  25. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hi Sifu Terry, thank you for your answer - I will send you an email. --So that this post has also something meaningful for all the FP practitioners: If you didn't try that before, lay your palms over your closed eyes after your practice session. When doing this I can sometimes "see" internal blue light. Also sometimes after some practice sessions the outside world (my room) is a bit blue tinted for a while. Greetings
