  1. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Thank you Sifu Terry Dunn for this recommendation. I tried it for the full 30 minutes and "endured" it the first time. But I have to be honest, it was rather difficult for me, because after about 20 minutes my shoulder and arm muscles were a little bit sore and aching. Maybe I will try 15 minutes sessions before adding up to 30 minute sessions. I have also a question, which I hope might not have been already asked somewhere here: Do I have to do the breath sequence again after one repetition of "Wind above the clouds", or can I just go on doing more repetitions? Best greetings, Julian

Hi Sifu Terry, thank you very much for your answers! That has been helpful to me. I always enjoy reading your posts Maybe I will substitute exercise #1 for the new one, because I don't have the time to do 4 exercises in the morning...But first I have to work on my morning sluggishness/sleepiness - because of it I do catch myself cutting the practice time down to 6 minutes per exercise :/ ... Should I first extend the practice time to a greater amount of time before learning a new exercise? And, do I understand this correctly, that at some point in time others (non-practicioners) could also see my light? Best, Julian
  3. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hey there, I hope you are all well , I have a question about the FP Training Schedule. Right now I am at the last week of the exercises 1+2+3. Should I practice only the new exercise #4 for the following 2 weeks, or do I exchange exercise #1 with #4? I am asking because according to the schedule I would have practiced exercise #1 for the longest total time in relation to all the others... I hope you know what I mean Sifu Terry, maybe I am not yet seeing the real deep blue Flying Phoenix light as I thought I would. The light which I am seeing while practicing standing exercise #1 is a more light blue for me... Kind of like this. Maybe it isn't important at all, but I am just curious about it... Also I saw this light around my hand one time, but at a time where I didn't know of FP yet. So I think it maybe isn't the FP healing energy... Thank you and greetings! Julian

Thank you very much for your answer! I am glad to hear that I am making progress. I will try to lengthen my practice to 10-12 minutes per exercise. I am looking forward to the MSW Meditations - just tried each one of them once... I have one thing to add to my last post. I have the feeling that my perception of light has changed slightly. For example while looking at a light bulb or a candle I see a halo around it. Also looking towards the sun seems to be more difficult than before... Has anyone else noticed something like this? Best wishes, Julian

Hey there, after about 5 weeks of everyday practice of the FP System I would like to give you a short review. I have been practicing according to the schedule of Sifu Terry's website, so at the moment my practice consists of the first 3 basic standing meds in the morning right after getting up (~8mins each) and the 3 first basic sitting meds in the evening before sleep (also ~8mins each). About the first experienced effects: Sometimes I have a feeling of wellbeing throughout the day - a very nice soothing feeling. But this doesn't happen quite often. Also my body jerks and trembles in the middle of doing Basic Standing #3 and Sitting #2... At Basic Standing exercise #1 I do see a light skyblue aura around my fingers (~maybe half an inch thick), when I move them slightly... The basic sitting meds still have a slightly painful effect to my back while doing them. But afterwards I feel very well and relaxed. This could also come from my tight hip muscles - I can't sit easily in the half lotus position. Do you think 8 mins per exercise is sufficient or will the effects be stronger when doing the exercises for a longer time? Thank you. Greetings, Julian
  6. Hey there!

Hey there, greetings to you all! I am Julian, from Germany and I am glad to have found this forum several months ago while searching for a good Qigong System Last year in april I started to learn Tai Chi Chuan (Lee Style) and 8 Brocades Chikung in the morning. I am also interested in meditation and a little bit of Yoga... Right now I am beginning to learn the Flying Phoenix Chikung. I am looking forward to participate in this forum Best wishes, Julian

Greetings to you all, I just have started my Flying Phoenix practice one week ago and I am feeling that I have found a gem for a lifetime... I am deeply grateful for GM Doo Wai for having shared this wonderful practice. I am also grateful for Sifu Terry and Sifu Garry for answering arising questions and giving this extraordinary support. Having read the 171 pages of this topic I have also to thank all the contributing practitioners for their shared experiences. I started the practice with each 10 minutes of Vol.1 Ex.1 and Ex. 2 in the morning and Vol.2 Ex.1 and Ex. 2 in the evening. I have to say that while practicing "Monk gazing at moon" of Volume 2 I felt major pain in my mid-back - but after the practice I felt a kind of "cold"/soothing/liquid-like energy in my back, which was very pleasant... After this meditation I feel a deep peaceful quiet Best wishes, Julian
