  1. A random thought about spirituality from a shaman

You literally fascinate me lol. You need a lot more time friend. First you need to change the world, then your busy being a lion, and now: "many people have this idea that spirituality is about becoming more feminine" That. I have never heard of that. And all these complaints of criticism towards you is also interesting. I simply don't understand why you post on a forum and disagree with any insight and or criticism towards you. And if anyone does criticize you its because we have "father issues". I mean, I haven't found much more entertainment anywhere else. In the terms of the internet, I firmly believe you are a troll. I appreciate the actual insight and outward thinking you provide but some of your posts are so contradictory to your true message its nearly impossible to read. But in your own words from another thread, "I'm ignorant".
  2. I don't believe the founders of daoism intended meditation...

Upon further examination I have found a grinding flaw in the way that mindfulness and awareness are presented to westerners. Many westerners hear the word meditation and or mindfulness. And many instructors describe this by saying to pay attention to the most minimal detail in ones life. Feel your toes, feel your socks, feel your shoes while walking etc. Its a massive climb up hill. Instead, it should be full dedication to the action. When walking walk (like many here have said, but for myself was quite difficult to understand), but don't create a step by step process. Simply focus 100% of your attention towards the action, not the minimal basic movements and physicalities.
  3. And as I've said in other posts I believe mindfulness is the opposite of what the founders of taoism taught. To perform effortless action one must not input effort. Simple. So if one thinks of any action (movement of hands, physicalities etc.) You are therefore inputting a desire or will to think. So if one performs mindfulness without any effort or thought of said mindfulness that person will be performing wu Wei.
  4. Of where Lao tzu or zhuangzi speak of practicing mindfulness? I'm really stuck on this and I feel its the only answer. Ive scanned the tao te Ching and have yet to find it. Maybe I'm looking at wrong translations or my ignorant mind is providing me with false information. I would appreciate the help. P.S. Is mindfulness considered a form of meditation?
  5. Can someone give me an excerpt or example

The only thing you did was bring me closer to yet another self realization. That's what we are all here for right? Maybe someday I can assist you.
  6. Wisdom vs Intelligence vs Not knowing

I apologize but your first paragraph throws me off. Essentially your saying that you're wisdom can indicate weather, good or bad, etc.? So in the broadest sense wisdom=knowing fate? Just wanted to clarify before I respond.
  7. I don't believe the founders of daoism intended meditation...

@spotless I understand what you mean. However, when viewing meditation as a isolated practice one becomes separated from the essence of nature. Now, isolated practice of meditation is only beneficial to those that are farther away from their true nature than others. I ask of you to try for one day a simple but useful practice I personally have found good luck with. Imagine starting the day with mindfulness- thinking continuously of the way you feel hear see etc. After conducting this practice continuously for any amount of desired time, begin to separate yourself from those thoughts. Act as if you were still performing the mindfulness practice-but cease thinking of the mindfulness. This is the easiest way to perform wu Wei in a western sense. An example: I began walking. I felt the sensation of my body, the wind, and heard the cars and trees move simultaneously. After twenty or so minutes you quiet your mind forcefully. Still conducting the mindfulness practice (in the physical sense) you begin to drift. You are now in complete awareness. Your aware of all the sensations sounds and smells etc. But no longer have a continuous strain of thought set on it. In the book Relax, your already home by Raymond Barnett he speaks of his conducted travels to China. According to history mindfulness practice was integrated into taoism after the Buddhist sect was traveling across China. Many sages adopted the practice and felt that it was necessary to live In the moment. Whether or not they used that as sort of a stepping stone to wu Wei or not is a completely different story. Just my blinded rambling.
  8. Can someone give me an excerpt or example

Perfect. I appreciate your help. After reviewing your post and my own natural contact with the subject I feel like I'm closer than I've been before. It seems like I've completely bypassed the setup of attaining awareness (conscious-mindfulness-awareness-oneness) I'm now at awareness.
  9. Can someone give me an excerpt or example

Thanks for the reply. In my eyes though conducting mindfulness is in direct confrontation with wu Wei correct?
  10. Is it recommended to practice Qi Gong with

    Great news. Thank you.
  11. Is it recommended to practice Qi Gong with

How long does it take to achieve prime Qi Gong? As in inhale then exhale longer naturally?
  12. What should one do/think of while walking?

@soaring crane When you speak of "staying with the body" how would one necessarily do that? Think of the feel of the body? Examples would be think of the feeling, see the movement, hear the body, etc.?
  13. Can someone give me an excerpt or example

    And or meditation?
  14. What should one do/think of while walking?

I can't for the life of me find it. I apologize. If I do I will post it here.
  15. What should one do/think of while walking?

I appreciate the responses. Out of curiosity when does Lao tzu or zhuangzi speak of mindfulness? Awareness to me is understanding what your doing consciously but not having a focused train of thought about said action.
  16. What should one do/think of while walking?

Seems like a lot of these responses are dedicated to mindfulness, not necessarily awareness. If one doesn't practice mindfulness how should I delegate my mind?
  17. I don't believe the founders of daoism intended meditation...

Well this is a path- some need assistance (various forms of sitting meditation or neiyeh qi gong etc.) And some don't. Since I've been practicing Buddhism and zen for a long time I naturally fit into what I am doing.
  18. List examples or your daily routine, etc. Hopefully this will generate different ways to cross examine our own spiritual path. I for one try to incorporate meditation and or wu Wei into everything I do. Effortless effort. When working I work. When thoughts arise I accept them and then disregard them. I try to bear witness and be aware. When pouring coffee, I pour the coffee. I then add sweetener. I then stir the coffee. And finally I drink it. Simple. Savory. How about you?
  19. I don't believe the founders of daoism intended meditation...

@spotless I believe it tends to work just not in its traditional sense. I have been practicing it lately and had found a blog the other day that spoke of the same thing. When performing wu Wei one loses its sense of opinion and harmoniously becomes centered. When this happens all action becomes effortless. I normally have to spend many hours a day (albeit my normal tasks) but it does eventually hit me. When walking-i walk. When sitting I sit. When eating I eat. However, I do this all without thought. No mindfulness no nonsense just doing. Thoughts do come and go but I take heed to some of Confucius's words and disregard the thought. This is something I've been diving into though. As you can see from some of my other topics.
  20. I don't believe the founders of daoism intended meditation...

When one pours gasoline on a fire he will eventually run out of gasoline. When the fire grows it will spread. Burning everything in its path. Including my problems.
  21. I don't believe the founders of daoism intended meditation...

    Why lecture less?
  22. What does awareness mean?

Taoism. And frankly I am my teacher. There is no one I can turn to except this site and myself. I enjoy self learning anyways but I always have questions.
  23. What should one do/think of while walking?

If one thinks of breath though one disregards flow and begins the path of mindfulness towards breath.
  24. What does awareness mean?

So I would like to thank you for the reply. How does one become conscious? For example would one be conscious of his surrounding, then witness the birds singing and the wind blowing, then one would achieve awareness? Correct?
