The Foundation of Cultivation (read with a grain of salt)
Taoist Texts replied to Blissdao9's topic in Daoist Discussion
i know. lots of well-intended people think that something can be created out of nothing. they look surprised when they try and get nothing instead of something. -

Taoist Texts replied to Centli's topic in Daoist Discussion
unfortunately it is not clear what this poem even means. Also it is not a taoist poem but a Chan one 后来龙互禅师乃云:人情浓厚道情微,道用人情世岂知。空有人情无道用,人情能得几多时。」 https://ctext.org/wiki.pl?if=gb&chapter=243859&remap=gb -
Need help clarifying a paragraph from chapter 1of Taoist Yoga
Taoist Texts replied to BluePickle's topic in Daoist Textual Studies
Right. This is not a part of the original book. The intro comes from the translator Charles Luke who did not really understand the subject matter. I would not worry about this. -

But then again, these names and locations do not matter the least bit. Because they take your money but hide from you what is really to be done with these dantians.

mine;) not 'the yang', "the yang thing" which is an euphemism for penis. 'rising'='erection'. and erection is bad because it leaks the yang qi yes. literally having no thoughts in the meditative state. It is believed that when the organ is fully drawn back into the abdomen the male practiser has no leakage of yang qi. When drawn in the male practiser's anatomy resembles that of a stallion whose penis is drawn into a sheath when not erect https://horses.extension.org/stallion-anatomy-exam/ -

Taoist Texts replied to alphone's topic in Buddhist Discussion
very good. excellent. thats why the western Buddhists come up with these peculiar ideas. nice people they are but confused something fierce. -
hmmm, no. i am certain you know of this trick where to understand a concept you have to take it to the extreme. now instead of 'anything' substitute 'crack'. as in 'crack is whack'. see how it works out now.

Buddhist meditations for extinguishing the self
Taoist Texts replied to Tom Beckett's topic in Buddhist Discussion
thats the official story yes. but given that the craft of writing is mentioned multiple times in the canon it is highly unlikely that nothing of living Buddha's preaching was written down -
Lighting up a LED with your body as an antenna?
Taoist Texts replied to wandelaar's topic in General Discussion
the current lighting the LED comes from the difference of electric potentials between your body and the ground, not from your body antenna picking up EM because the body would fully absorb the EM energy pls see above. a living body cannot transform EM into current. A body can accumulate the static electricity though, which is different from EM -
this is not what you said first at all. Its the opposite of what you said first First you said that De is the result of Xing - Ming interaction. Now you say that it does not. Now you admit that of course De exists regardless of any Xing - Ming interaction. You keep making conflicting statements. It is not clear what does this even mean. Does this imply that the amount of "De is the result of Xing - Ming interaction"?
