  1. The jhanas

I recently bought the bok but haven`t read much of it. I think Brahm is very dgmatic in the face of solid information that counter his claims on the absolute necesity of jhanas. Kornfield points this out in the foreword. There is anotehr book that is called the experience of Samadhi that interviews verious theravad teachers about the Jhanas. Some of them are incredibly rigid in their views on the Jhanas others very flexible. And for the most part they contradict each other completly. Since all of them are interviewed since they actualy have success with their sudents that does not speak well for the views of the most rigid ones IMO. But I am sure both Brahm and the others have a lot of interesting stuff to say. Actualy, one of the most inflexible teachers in the samadhi book was the one that made me see that the fourth Jhana could be especialy beneficial beacuse even after you leave it and the jhana factors disapear the wisdom light that comes in the forth jhana stays with you in vipassana afterwards and that light makes it much eaaier to do insight meditation. Do you see the nimittas of the owrld and moon etc. as they were real hyscal objects when you are out of your meditations?
  2. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

How about brainwave entrainment and binural beats. That is a technology that actualy gets you into incredibly deep meditation fast and with no effort because your mind is effected by the waves in the tape. Loads of people on this forum can attest to that it works. That way you can meditate a huge amount just lying in bed. You also get the advantage of being able to go to specific frequencies one knows are very beneficial for specific purposes such as releasing human growth hormones or other stuff. Holosync is suposedly very good. Do good research about it first and inquire on this forum with thse familiar with it about how fast to progress and what to use etc. Ya Mu is both a very powrfull healer and great teacher of powerfull medical qigong. He posts here so you could ask him what he thinks you should do. You can also post in the healing section here and people will send you some energy. Santiago also has gropu healings/shaktipats every thursdays for free. The energy is great and should add a boost for you if done regulary. All you need to do is to want to tune in. Santiago and the kap people are a goldmne of powerfull practices. You could also enquire with him if there are particular stuff he thinks could help you. He also has a "healing reservoir" here in the healing section that you can go to as much as you want.
  3. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

When you mention NLP does that mean the Lighting Process? That actualy works realy well for a lot of people altough not all. The healer chunyi Lin has a very good reputation both for healing and for his qigong. I am having good success with healings over the phone with his senior student/healer Jim Nance for my memory problems. He saw instantly where my blocks were and started working on them and getting some results but it takes time. I knew that my worst imbalance was in the soalr plexus but did not know that had relevance for memory but it did in my case becasue it makes "damp" go to my head and somehow obstructs the kidneys which has a more direct effect on memory (that I knew). I was very impressed that he saw my solar plexus imbalance right away after a minute and a half on the phone. I did not have time to say much more then halo. go to springforestqigong.com
  4. question about nonduality and sex

So I must have been quite a brilliant bug in my time to move up then. Cool. I am open to the idea that both something like karma and merit exists and it might be possible that somethng that comes to you directly in meditation as an illuminating insight might be worthwile to take action from but I almost never see any of that on forums just peoples endless intelectual, wild and unsubstantiated speculations. Why would one want to speculate about karmic conections. You don`t`need to in order to progress in something like Vipassana for example, just keep noting the three characteristics. If for some reason one "accidentaly" gets some insight into ones karmic workings then fine, go with that, but thinking about it intelectualy seems to me to be some of the least constructive ways to spend ones time. On this board for example people often make judgments like saying they are certain another posters sexual issues comes from time in celibacy as a monk or other wild speculations about karmic logic that could just as well be explained by a couple of thousand other theories of karmic workings. Bill bodri wrote on his site that I had to have acumulated an enormous amount of merit to have deserved to have the opportunity to read about the teachings he was offering In the context of the buddhas statement about karmas non linearity, such thinking seems even more absurd. When such thinking actualy motivates people to do stuff it gets completly insane in my opinion and very destructive. All the guilt people give themselves for bad things beyond their present control in this life because they think they must have dones something terrible in a past life just makes the whole thing quite sick in my opinion as they have no clue about this and they might just as well have been saints the last five times arround since they are now in contact with teachings and teachers that can get them enlightened. Sereneblue in a thread a while back wrote something about that she had to have done something realy horrible to deserve something she expereinced int his life. Whats the point of that. And if one when one starts analyzing back one would have to "psychoanalyze" a couple of eons worth of lifetimes to make the connections. All of that stuff wastes precious time, mental energy and focus that could be better spent getting enlightened quicker. There realy isen`t much more to do then practice and try to do good for other people. Same thing with all the talk about gaining merit. People make retarded asumptions that they are not progressing in meditation because of lack of merit and think they have to run arround and do a lot of good so that they will achieve jhanas or advance in Dzogchen or some such bullshit. Thats a realy bad motivation to do good IMO. One should try to do good because it is good. That will gain you more merit anyway if there is such a thing as merit which again means just practice and try to love other people and do good for them without wasting ines time in intelectual specualtation. If I started behaving like that it would be a huge step back for me. Do Zen people bother to think about this stuff at al???? Oh and before one even starts to speculate about such things with anything other than a very light heart it would be a prerequisite to get representatives from all the traditions that belive in karma and se if they could actualy agree on anything at all. Get all the rinpoches and tulkus and swamis and shamans and whatnot together. And see if they are not all over the place in their views on karma. I am sure some would say that if one is a human one has to be quite bad to be "fired" and become a bug again whereas others (the Buddha if I understand you correct) would say the whole thing jumps all over the place and so you could becme a bug anytime and have to wait a couple of eons to get another shot etc. If these guys can not agree then that must mean most of them are basicly wrong as several theories of the logic of karma can not be true at the same time. That should at least make ordinary people vary of engaging in all that nonsense. Or at least if they can agree on at least a few things people could make their assumtions based on that. But then again figuring out what the points of agreement on karma between the different traditions are would take quite a few years of intense study which again is a tremendous vaste of time.
  5. Some Things I've Realized

I agree about a lot of it. Mystery method for example tend make you end up like this but a lot of it, charismaarts.com for example, I would say actualy just brings out more of who you actualy are in confident outgoing and flirty way.
  6. question about nonduality and sex

Stork!!! But how does one move up from stork or other animals to humans or a "better" animal? I can`t see animals and bugs making moral choiches to get good rebirth, they just do. Also I would choose many animals lives over a lot of the human lives available today. I would rather be my friends well feed and loved dog that gets cuddled al day and get to go hunting a couple of months a year then even most good human lives especialy and certainly the crappy ones. He is happy all the time.
  7. The jhanas

Why don`t you and Findley get a thread of your own where you can battle it out over who is going to be the next Buddha
  8. question about nonduality and sex

This is not a comment on your memories or what a lot of people expereince of possible memories in meditation or the experience of these kids but I will say this: THose I have encountered that belive they remember past lives tend to all belive they lived on atlantis but still describe the place completly differently. They tend to have lived the lives of aristocrats or concubines to Djengis Khan and stuff like that. Statisticly almost everyones past lives should have been as peasants who eat shit and die with little adventure.
  9. My health on the table

But realy, try t do the liver sound - ssshhhhhh - 6 times after each other with a few breaths in between just to see if it works because that should cool down the liver. I am sure you will find six healing sounds on youtube so you can hear the correct sound.
  10. My health on the table

Somewhat related but different and more powerfull: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=9719 Definitively do the smiling during your stances. It absolutely will have a big effect. What I want to do is build up a lot of "smiling power" with the inner smile so it will take me 30 seconds to get into a state where I am saturated with the smiing energy. You know where you can now in seconds get into a state energeticly that it took you a long time to get to in the first place. Once I have that smling power I can take tiny smilling brakes during the day and access strong smiling energy while doing poses. To a small extent I can already do it a good deal more then in the begining. The same thing is the aim with the seret smile. Get to where you can get into it in a powerfull way realy fast so you can always do a quick warm up for anything etc.
  11. Chakra Diagnosis

I tought the one above the crown was the higher self chakra. There is also suppsoed to be a similar one belov the feet. At least now you know you have a big heart For sure KAP will help balance out this stuff. Most reasonably balanced system will. KAP has specific chakra meditations were one uses sound etc. to balance all the chakras. The orbit also helps a lot. the secret smile helps. The grounding stuff in KAP is probably realy important for you to rebuild your root chakra. I read somewhere that you do pilates and that also helps strenghten the lower chakras. In general everything that makes your bodys alignment and posture perfect does a lot to balance the chakras. When the body is physicaly correct the energetics broadly align according to it and so gets a lot more balanced. For realy, realy getting balanced and especially strenghtening something that is very weak I think it is stuff like the specific chakra meditations that works best. For me the embracing the tree posture does a lot to strenghten my weak root chakra. Getting your sexuality healed and getting more in touch with your emotions will also do a lot.
  12. Anxiey medication

I actualy do the secret smile standing for the most part and taht works fine for me. Not sure what the fudosai position is.
  13. Warnings about Dr.Lin

http://www.aneros.com/forum/dr-lin-at-lin-...l?highlight=lin http://www.thundersplace.org/forum/showthr...p;highlight=lin Seems there is some pretty harsh criticism of him out there. Jus wanted to pass that on
  14. http://www.reuniting.info/wisdom/neotaoism_and_karezza I find this article especialy illuminating.
  15. Nauli

There is a book called unwinding the belly I think it is about doing ch nei tsang massage ++ on your own which is suposed to be excellent. In the inner smiel meditation there is a version where one smiles al the way down and through the digestive system, intestines etc. This is very healing. Six healing sounds, especially the spleen sound probably, can also do wonders for stuff like this
  16. The jhanas

shinzen young provides something along these lines. Anyway I think over the long term KAP will make attaining jhanas much easier. There are stuff there that evnetualy works a lot faster than just focusing on the breath and once kundalini itself is raised I think deep concentration states becomes a lot more accessible
  17. My health on the table

I think retention the way people arround here normaly go about it is advanced. Retention in the way karezza and aneros people go about it I think is only beneficial. Seems to work very good even for those who have no other cultivation practice.
  18. I wrote this in another thread and it seems relevant; THe aneros seems to bring people a lot of very good multiples without any sort of strain or over doing (probably since it is only by relaxing that the aneros works). Apparently many people find that after having a lot of dry aneros multiples they just naturaly got the ability to have them during normal intercourse without doing anything with the pc muscles or orbit etc. just ether not doing anything or just doing it with the mind. Maybe using the aneros might help you tune in to the "right" way to have multiples. My theory is that a lot of people when they are having mutliples are having to yang style orgasms with too much tension and heat and restesness. That means the energy they retain is of a different quaity and I think that it is much harder to integrate well. If everything hapens in a relaxed and mindfull way with almost no effort to retain or stop anything but more of an expansion upwards, then the quality of energy is much better and few problems occur. The aneros seems to help a lot in getting you to that place. So to does a lot of practice of very slow very deep belly breathing. This is just me theory though and not something I have proper experience with. Also I have written more about it in this thread: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showto...&hl=teacher Sereneblue: I think anyone who has not had them deserves a god phase of explosive orgsms before going for the other stuff and I am sure you will.
  19. My health on the table

Wouldn`t doing the liver sound - sshhhh - be very good for him to do. It removes heat very well. THe aneros seems to bring people a lot of very good multiples without any sort of strain or over doing (probably since it is only by relaxing that the aneros works). 20. Eating Bananas Helps Too

Agreed. Bad idea. Do you know how this numbing takes place?
  21. The jhanas

Thanks. I am actualy a user there also altough I don`t post much there
  22. question about nonduality and sex

HAHA. I`d say there are plenty of spiritual Dicks around. Good old fashioned penis envy No worries. You are suposed to be like a yoni I suppose, totaly open and receptive
