  1. Teaching authentic neigong

Stillness is a very important part of neigong and if 100% covered and taught in my level 1 seminar. I do know about it and there is a possibility that it could work, think of the efficacy of electric acupuncture. I have never tried it myself so could not say how effective it might be.
  2. Teaching authentic neigong

I am not sure what you mean. Are you asking if it will become more expensive to learn the higher levels? It will not, they are included in the monthly subscription. People who reach the required level to learn will be taught online without any additional cost. Just bear in mind you will spend quite a lot of time on each stage of the practice, it won't be new practices every few months.
  3. Teaching authentic neigong

It likely won't be but if that changes i will let you know. Sorry about that.

  5. Feedback about 小梦想's neigong seminar?

Some more interesting feedback.... " Some updates... In the first couple of weeks practicing waigong, I noticed warmth reaching my wrists. Last week, it started to fill the laogong points, like circles of warmth in the middle of each palm. Today the warmth filled my palms and fingers. It's interesting because I practiced a form of waigong before that is designed to help medical practitioners have warmth and qi in their hands (it's not for emitting qi, though). That set really does work, and I've seen many people get the promised results. However, it requires a good 40 minutes a day, and uses a lot of fairly complex alternating tension, movement, and intentional guiding to get results, and the warmth it creates is noticeably of a different character from this waigong. With that method, after a long, good session, my hands would be full of blood and therefore warm. With this waigong, the heat just seems to arrive on its own, very quickly. I suspect neigong and stillness practice have to be maintained to get that effect, though. In stillness I'm starting to get more body-wide warmth, often resulting in a tiny bit of a sweat breaking out on my forehead. Last week the temperature here suddenly dropped 10°C and it stayed cold for several days, but lots of places kept their ACs on, resulting in a lot of time spent in rooms that felt like refrigerators. It was interesting to note that even as my limbs sometimes became frigid, my lower abdomen stayed toasty. When I left the cold rooms, I warmed back up quickly, sometimes with the heat starting to noticably return at my kidneys before my whole body warmed. "

I was planning on offering the free seminar to teach the stillness that I favor but no one really responded. Is there any interest in it? If there is enough interest I will do a 1 hour long zoom meeting to teach it along with some basic health advice. The practice in itself helps the residual fatigue symptoms that many suffer from who had covid so if there are any who fit this category it would help quite a bit. It will include how to get in the right mindset, the correct way of breathing, how to sink qi, how and what to focus on and basic health advise. If there are people interested I will do it 13 Nov Beijing time 10PM. Early morning US, late Afternoon EU and similar time for Asian countries. Please reply and let me know, it will be free and open to anyone.
  7. Damo Mitchell Free MCO Course

I think we are talking about different things so i will bow out. Active dantian has always been a heated topic on here, I do not wish to derail this thread. I know what you are referring to. The ball jolts and jumps around, physically protrudes from the stomach, expands and deflates very physically and an onlooker can see it clearly. Appreciate you explaining, it was nice chatting.
  8. Damo Mitchell Free MCO Course

I don't often find myself disagreeing with you but this is one instance I have to. Out of thousands and thousands of people I have met over the years visiting various masters, only 1 has ever had an active dantian when he arrived by the standards of Master Jiang and masters of similar level and ability. Again, I have met many people who talked about these experiences and none of them had any dantian cultivation as per the above teachers when they came over. Being moved around by their dantians, someone else being able to control their movement by linking to their dantians, themselves linking their dantians to objects and being pulled closer through the force of the dantian. Very interesting sounding stories, but they were told, nope, no dantian activation or cultivation. There is certainly a difference in what is meant in different neigong lineages when talking about dantian activation and cultivation. It's not all the same and definitely doesn't lead to the same internal development long term. I am completely neutral in this thread btw, just wanted to explain that the same word doesn't mean the same thing in these arts unfortunately.
  9. Feedback about 小梦想's neigong seminar?

Had a really interesting post in the groupchat which I wanted to share here because the person is not a daobums member. " The warmth in practice has seemingly become more stable--it arrives very quickly in seated practice in my lower abdomen, and goes into my forearms in waigong. The character of this warmth is so interesting, because it is something I have only had arise spontaneously (and without daily regularity) in wuwei practice. No youwei qigong/daoyin/internal martial arts practice has ever triggered it for me... I've done a lot of practices and stuck with some of them for several years before changing tack--it's unlikely they would ever have produced this result even after 10 years, or maybe 100. I actually eventually concluded that generating internal warmth was not really possible, short of perhaps learning tummo from a Tibetan monk, because even teachers of mine who promised me that this or that posture or movement could do it never gave me anything that produced results (and I was the kind of guy who spent years practicing 3 to 5 hours a day). The warmth feels a bit like an infrared lamp used in some acupuncture clinics... Or like a moxa stick held at exactly the right distance, or sitting near enough a fireplace to be pleasantly warm, but not enough to get dried out and overheated. It's a bit cloud-like, if that makes sense. The main thing is that it's got this "Goldilocks" character--it's like it's the exact right temperature to feel pleasant and nourishing. It's clearly the product of something good happening in my body. For the last two nights in stillness, the warmth has extended into my kidneys, making them feel pleasantly toasty. In the neigong practice last night, it subtly rose up the center of my back in the final minutes. After stillness, it lingered for at least 45 minutes as I talked on the phone with a friend. It is really interesting was how I could even feel this warmth filling in the joints closest to my fingertips. "
  10. Teaching authentic neigong

Hi everyone. I just wasted to say thank you to the mods here who allowed me to make this thread and offer a seminar. I want to thank those who participated in the thread and those who joined the seminar. I was quite surprised how many people who took the seminar struggled to do basic diaphragmatic breathing, some not able to do it at all. This is a key breathing practice to sink and and root your qi and benefits health immensely. The inability to do diaphragmatic breathing will most likely result in deviations and side effects over time from most practices being taught, even basic qigong. As a thank you, I will offer members here a mini seminar for free for anyone who wants to learn basic stillness (sitting practice) with the correct breathing for health purposes. This will focus on correct breathing, learning to sink your qi and yi which for most people does result in a slow but steady improvement to health. Maybe in a month or so, i will confirm the date. I made a website where I offer further neigong seminars so that I don't keep using Daobums as medium because I don't really think this is the purpose of it. Those who wish to take my Neigong seminar, the link to my website is below and I will offer a 10% discount to any Daobums members. Those who already joined, I will refund the 10% in the next week. If you sign up, PM me here to let me know, and I will refund 10% for you. https://authenticneigong.com/

I have had some time to think about how I want to do things going forward and wanted to make it clear before people start joining and paying for the seminar. There have been many emails asking how further training will happen and what is required so i will explain it here for everyone. As many of you know, there are many problems that can arise from internal practices so having guidance along the way is crucial to ensure you aren't creating any problems for yourself. This first level is safe and those who do the practices as I will teach them will have no problems, I will make sure everyone understands what not to do and i believe it will be a wonderful addition to what many people are already doing. Option 1 $500 one off payment. Those who just want to come learn level 1, pay for the seminar as a standalone event, will learn the foundational methods to cultivate the dantian and qi. But I will not make any further training available to them. Learning anything more will require guidance and access to someone to help when/if things go wrong or deviations occur. They will have 4 months to decide if they want to sign up for the monthly group which is essential for safety reasons in my opinion if they want to take their cultivation to higher levels. Option 2 $300 then monthly payments of $50 for group access. Those choosing this option will have access to the group for any questions that may come, monthly video chats and help with the practice. The second level of practice will become available after 12 months of being in the group and the further levels will depend on individual progress and be made available when people are ready for them. Down the line we will also have in person meetings for those who do want attend and will likely also have me giving help to enlarge channels, boost qi production, etc to speed along progress. Given current events I don't really see any in person meetings happening for at least 2 years. I hope this is clear and will allow people to make the choice which is best for them. Just to clarify. If someone who takes option 1 decides after a year they want to learn more, they will have to join the group chat and be in it for a year before they can take the second level seminar.

Just a quick heads up for those who want to join. We will be using Telegram messenger for the coordination of the seminar so please get it if you don't already have it. It's similar to WhatsApp for those who might not know it. More information can be found here on their site. https://telegram.org/
  17. Teaching authentic neigong

I had some emails from people worried that I might be dishonest about my level of cultivation and/or knowledge of neigong. Asking that I upload videos onto youtube showing faqi as proof. I don't feel comfortable uploading videos on youtube showing faqi but funny enough there is a video of me on youtube showing my first faqi, although i wasn't the one who uploaded it. I have tons of videos, I just don't feel comfortable uploading them, I don't know why, I just don't like the idea of them being there. I have been on this forum for as long as I have been in china, and only ever really took part in the discussions on dantian cultivation or trying to give information on cultivation because I had access to authentic lineages and teachers. I never intended to teach but that is just how things worked out. Maybe it's karma... It would be very stupid of me to be offering to teach authentic neigong and not know it or plan to teach some generic, widely known practices. People will almost certainly ask after the seminar how it was, make a thread about it and I would lose my credibility completely I taught the same practices you can find in many neigong books. Those who join the seminar will know my full name, know some of the teachers I work with and know my phone number. it would be silly of me, downright stupid really, to try and cheat or con people.
  18. Teaching authentic neigong

I honestly haven't minded it. It kept the thread alive and it's relevant for those who do wish to practice. You have explained it really well and hopefully will have helped quite a few people who are struggling with their health and diet in the process.
  19. Teaching authentic neigong

Your advise is spot on. One thing that isn't often explained, especial to those who are trying to heal up from previous bad habits is the fact that a lot of "healthy" food can be quite damaging to their attempts to get healthier. Examples would be starting to consume a lot more nuts, fruit and smoothies, which sounds super healthy to do, but depending on your internal condition can actually put increased strain on your body. Having spleen qi deficiency for instance makes digesting hard to digest food quite difficult and the increase in acid from fruit causes it's own set of problems. Healthy oils can also cause problems despite their nutritional values and "healthy smoothies" which are consumed cold can do more harm than good. It's important to understand these little caveats when your goal is to get healthier.
  20. Teaching authentic neigong

A strong healthy body with good testosterone levels will do this. This is one of the main reasons people run into problems with some of the qigong/neigong currently being taught, way too little emphasis put on having qi where it should be. There is also a failure to specify when certain practices should be done.
  21. Teaching authentic neigong

In the beginning I don't recommend doing more than 10 mins active neigong a day, this can slowly be increased over time. You still need to do the recommended stillness and external practice too which comes to about 30-40 mins total practice time per day. Safety for me in very important and people should not start with too much or increase time if they are having any adverse reactions. Health plays a big part and considering I don't know the health situation of people who will be joining, I will put emphasis on safely practicing above anything else. Being active and getting exercise is good for health. As long as your training isn't draining your health and leaving you weak, it should be fine. Considering he teaches neigong too, you would not expect them to be incompatible. Please watch the video I shared, it will explain. I honestly can't tell if you are trolling or not.
  22. Teaching authentic neigong

It's not quite the picture painted in many books unfortunately. Having issues with health will result in less qi being produced and the dantian being able to hold less qi. Having some qi will not create health, qi is energy to be used by the body. If you are constantly stressed or putting stress on the body then it isn't focused on healing and repair, it's focused on defense. Be stressed, eat bad food, not get enough sleep, drink a lot, porn every day, etc. long enough and you will barely produce any qi, barely be able to hold any qi. It doesn't matter if you are a master or not, have a dantian full of qi or not, if your lifestyle isn't conducive to a healthy body and mind, you develop problems just like everyone else and as your body develops more problems, you ability to cultivate qi goes down too. Monks in the mountains tend to have a healthy stress-free lifestyle, which means their qi enhances their health. It's not quite as black and white as many like to say it is. They also start practice and leading a very healthy lifestyle from a young age, we can't say the same for the average westerner, myself included when I first wanted to learn.
  23. Teaching authentic neigong

I just wanted to clarify something which I keep getting asked privately. If you only wish to develop qi, without any desire to later emit it. What you will learn during this seminar is sufficient to develop your dantian and qi to very high levels over time. It's not going to take 3 months, but after a good few years of daily training, you can develop a pretty substantial amount of qi which will naturally start to fill the channels. There is no need to learn more, I am not holding out during this first lecture. It's everything you need to be able to go and practice and make considerable progress if your health allows it. The next levels are just add on practices that make it more efficient, help to condense the qi, enlarge certain channels and connections, but you don't need them if your only goal is to develop higher levels of qi.
  24. Teaching authentic neigong

I wasn't even implying that it's common, just that it exists. I don't doubt there are plenty of worth while teachers scattered all over the world. I totally agree. Developing the habit of daily practice is very useful and more than this, many people who do start some form of meditation do end up changing habits to be more healthy. There are some benchmarks yes, but they aren't consistent for everyone. I have experienced many of the benchmarks that float around on the internet, yet a good friend/brother of mine didn't experience any of them despite having a more cultivated dantian than me. How we learn to tell our current dantian state is by being checked by our teacher, he will say you dantian is looking great, full of qi and you get to know the feeling. Qi cultivation relies heavily on your health being good too, so if you feel great, you most likely have a lot of qi and will have no problem making progress quickly (If you practice daily). My remark was not so much about determining if you have qi or not, but more determining if the dantian was able to store it. We all produce qi, what I meant was that we don't all have the ability to store it. We just don't count the qi that isn't stored, which is why someone who doesn't have a dantian storing qi is considered to not have qi. It's just how we distinguish, not to be taken literally. Those who don't have the methods to store it will feel qi, produce qi but you can run into problems due to qi rising. Not being able to store excess qi is one of the main reasons people run into problems when practicing qigong/neigong, There is a lack of emphasis put on stillness and grounding. This still won't allow you to store qi, but at least keeps it out of your head. A good habit to build is doing stillness meditation on the lower dantian for at least the same duration as your active practice. There are plenty of variations on how to do stillness meditation, some worse some better, but at the very least your focus/attention should be on the lower dantian. To guard the dantian as they say. I'll be teaching a method of stillness meditation which I favor due to it's health benefits.
  25. Teaching authentic neigong

It is but the other side of the coin is just as bad. If you dedicate yourself entirely to just one system and you were unlucky enough to find a teacher who only spent 5 weeks at wudang who is now teaching you neigong, you won't really get the results you are meant to get from doing neigong properly. But, you won't know what you were meant to get and will assume the "benefits" you get from your practice is all you can get. I find this to be a big obstacle when trying to introduce the information that I have because it's completely different to most people believe. There are just too many 5 week neigong teachers who didn't even learn any neigong who say things completely different to me. The tendency for people to want a way to progress, to have new practices to do every few months and the way general marketing has influenced the way these systems are taught, makes it very difficult too. Nobody wants to be told, go do these two practices for the next 3 years and then I will teach you some more, if you made enough progress that is. Some might even need 5 years, and in 5 years you don't learn brand new things, you still do the same 2 practices from before, we are just adding another. After about 10 years, IF you practiced well and your dantian and qi is sufficiently developed, then you will start with other practices, but you still do the ones I taught before, they don't go away. You need to replenish the qi you will be using for the mid level practices. It takes time and dedication and not being in isolation and temples make it even harder because we have to deal with constant struggles and stresses. It often confuses me how there are plenty of documentaries showing monks spending decades in isolation, building proper foundations to reach "enlightenment" after 50-80 years of practice yet people think these systems are quick to do, jumping up in levels every few months. PS. It is not my intent to insult anyone or any system explaining the above, it was not aimed, directed or meant to make fun of or insult anyone. People are free to practice anything they want, learn from anyone they want and teach any way they want.
