  1. On being a little Strange

Luckily we can always make up after such things happen. I will never intentionally hurt someone, though I may have hurt many people in my life (probably a lot) unwittingly.
  2. I think the Ida and the Pingala are the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nerve system. When triggered, the impact on the body is definitely felt. But they are always active, usually both not at the same time.
  3. On being a little Strange

Are you running as candidate? I liked the graphic, did you make that yourself?
  4. On being a little Strange

No, I'm not mocking you. Please don't see it that way, it was more of a way to mock myself! I'm strange too, remember? We're all strange here! Hoorayyyyyyy!
  5. On being a little Strange

I find it amusing to think that knowing how many chromosomes a life form has or how many seats an elected party occupies would be considered mainstream. Just goes to show how strange you are. Wear the strangeness with pride! Perhaps we could have an election for the strangest Taobum of 2014?
  6. Living off grid

But the lag when you're gaming!
  7. Living off grid

    Anyone into building earthships?
  8. Living off grid

Ah, but that's so much better then! (I knew it was a joke, I would never be ashamed for looking into solar power. And you should be ashamed of using modern technologies like the interwebz as well!)
  9. On being a little Strange

I enjoy it here, too. I have been on some strange forums, but this is where I feel I'm not the weird one. (Actually I'm weird, but so is everyone else on here) I never knew there were even people like me.
  10. Living off grid

Yes, it's cheating, I know. But as I have to earn some money to maintain myself, I have to use computers and internet. (I sell my illustrations online)
  11. Spiritual career

But there's an aspect to it, that I really would like to know. Can one be a spiritual teacher when one hasn't achieved enlightenment yet?
  12. Enlightened movies

No, not really, but more like the matchstick guy. Lucy, Luigi, Luge, Loki.
  13. Spiritual career

If they were (un)lucky, their life was too short to pursue another career after that. Problem solved.
  14. Living off grid

We are looking into solar panels. It would cost around 3000 EUR for the panels alone. We're also interested in alternative heating, like the rocket stove mass heaters you can build yourself: http://www.richsoil.com/rocket-stove-mass-heater.jsp
  15. I think I'll withdraw from this discussion. Too heated for me (and I was just trying to mediate).
  16. Uhm, I don't know if you realize it, but I have been a vegetarian for nearly thirty years and continue to be one.
  17. Enlightened movies

    Lucy! Pun intended, I assume?
  18. Spiritual career

Follow your bliss, even if it leads to what some people call "failure". Because it's only through failing that we learn and grow.
  19. @ Satya: I didn't mean you specifically, but when the debate is about diet it tends to become overheated in general. I've noticed it often, everywhere.
  20. Ebola coming to the USA

70 to 90% actually. I feel for those people trying to help the sick in Africa, and knowing full well that they are risking their lives. What makes Ebola so dangerous is fear, the people are so superstitious that they refuse help from the west, thus spreading the disease. Africa really seems a dark dark continent now. Edit: I just now read thelerner's post, my post seems somehow irrelevant now.
  21. Eating is almost like a religion, only the eating paradigm that one clings to seems good, all others bad. Although there are some issues considering meat and the meat industry, I don't think we should force our views upon someone else, when it is clear that we as humans can mainly eat fruit and veggies and sometimes eat meat. So, it is up to everyone to decide, but if you want to eat meat, do so respectfully and eat an animal that has lead a good life. And also be willing to kill an animal yourself, for it's easy to buy a steak at the supermarket, but it's much more difficult to kill the cow with your own hands.
  22. Vulcans vs Klingons

joeblast, there was a remake of the series, much much better then the first one. More depth of characters, also quite spiritual in a way. Highly recommended!
  23. Vulcans vs Klingons

Me too. I knew how many light years a way the most nearby stars were when I was 8 or so. I'm still fascinated with science. Talking about quasars and singularities can get me into higher spheres!
  24. Vulcans vs Klingons

Star Wars, never was a fan of that. But I can see the Jedi thing being a good theme also. We're weird women, don't you think? Most of the other specimens of our gender don't like sci fi. Or maybe we're normal and they are weird!
  25. Vulcans vs Klingons

O yes, my mind to your mind, etc. Especially Spock was a favorite character. I always loved Star Trek, but since I saw Battlestar Galactica (the new series), I'm a Trekkie no more!
