Eating meat and the whole jazz around it. Was Sacrificing an act of love?

I have been a vegetarian for most of my life, with the exception of the time when my daughter was small. I was 12 when I became one, influenced by my hippie brother. My motivation is very mixed, health plays a part, compassion, and the realization that for so many people on this planet to have something to eat, we'll have to reduce meat intake. I sometimes eat meat, when I feel I have to, and I did so yesterday. But my guts can't handle it anymore, I have cramps and a lot of gas. Since a while I'm pondering upon going fruitarian, I don't like a lot of tastes anymore, but I like sweet things and fruit. Are there some fruitarians here, or people with experiences in that direction? -
If the dollar wouldn't be a world currency, it would mean disaster to the US economy. They can now keep printing dollars, without it losing real value, because the whole world at large pays for the devaluation of the dollar. (O heck, I'm not sure how I can express myself properly, English is not my native language) What is being said in the open by politicians is probably not their true motivation, you know that. They're simply the ones with the biggest needs. For power and wealth that is.

Unwanted sticking of our attention to thoughts is what we have been taught to do. It's also quite natural, in a world where we are in danger to be eaten by other creatures. I struggle with it too. It's the ego clinging on to all that could possibly be an excuse to not being fully aware. The challenge is to not judge the distracting thoughts. When you're in the state of not clinging, those sounds will bring you even deeper, in my experience. -
No matter the outcome of investigations in this case, some forces want to impose fear and maybe war upon us. I'm Dutch and I can say that there is no scrutiny in the media, not even the so called objective media. All is geared towards the creation of an enemy. So much so, that I decided not to listen to the news any more. The US is all the happier with this because they don't want a strong EU. The dollar must stay the world currency, in order to prop up the American economy.

Are you afraid of bad karma? I recognize truth when I hear it. Or rather, the not-I does. Whoever speaks them is of less importance. Even the most lowly person can speak deep truths. As Donald Rumsfeld once said: "There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know." Now that was a big truth coming from someone I wouldn't even want to be in the same room with.

High energy state attracting unwanted attention

I used to see these enormous spiders at the foot of my bed, the size of a stretched hand. They had no bad intentions, but since I'm naturally somewhat unsettled (but not as much anymore) by spiders and seeing them every time I opened my eyes, I asked them kindly if they would please not come again. And so they never came back. But they were no evil things, I believe they protected me in a way. -
About giving up: yesterday my ego was so sad and scared, because it felt it had to go. It cried and cried. But it's only a construct that is sad and scared.

Hi TM, All the dualities you have written, as I see, are but different sides to the same coin. And then becomes clear that they are dynamic processes, and these dynamics are Tao. Dynamics is what makes our universe and life and communication, and all those myriads of wonderful things possible. There is no life without the Tao. Nevertheless I still keep saying that's not where it ends, or rather begins.

I'm not disputing that a dualistic view is a valid view, as every understanding is valid in a way. But to say that that is the alpha and omega of all that is and isn't, is a bit incomplete. But I'll be getting out of your way, there's no need to force my viewpoint upon you. To each his own discoveries in due time, I guess. Peace
