Hmmm.... The question I ask is "Can you afford not to get better?" The advantages of keeping to a practice and having a teacher is that you get better.... To the serious practitioner that is a very real question. Did you stick with a practice to get good? Internal alchemy is all about the center. Staying rooted centered clear minded pure of heart as you build and refine the center. As it condenses grows and spins. This center is alive and all of the sensations that happens with it comes and go. The only emotions and issues that affect you are ones dealing with the center. Staying centered is what matters

So what would you say to a method that provides vast mental clarity and cultivates the body's energies as well?

Yes I use to have this when I did standing meditation. It means your 3rd eye is opening. It will pass.

Again I cant say as to the fate of any practitioner. John said that he had a dream of kosta months before he came. A master may be able to look into the future or past. It depends on the laws of the lineage in some cases. Wang Li Peng's teachers used taoist scrying methods and astrological alignments to find their next heir. I cant say. To be honest look at it like this. Best time to practice is right when you get up if your not hungry. Theres good chi in the morning the heart rate is still low and you still have alot of the yin chi you acquired from the 8hrs of sleep. And eat there decent meals a day and drink plently of water. Get off of caffine...... It drains the kidneys and is a neurological toxin. That is caffeine's purpose when the plant excretes it. It is to overwhelm the heart and mind of the bug so the bug cant continue eating the plant. Eat good sleep plenty and practice when you feel guided to.

Normalcy isnt steadiness normalcy hinders on uniqueness. We all have a very unique nature. Plus life with no spice is bland. Spice brings out certian qualities of what is already there. Normalcy is the fear based illusion of the center. To put it bluntly stillness is king.
