Yes?
-
Not so. As Captain Hunt's Nietzschean friend said to him in the TV series Andromeda Ascendant: "There is no magic. Only science that you don't understand."
-
Rather, consciousness becomes the Universe.
-
Yes, you could think of them in those terms. The energies and informations they are processing are reaching far beyond the physical level though. They are multidimensional and being exchanged with planets and other stars. The Universe in toto is conscious. Human consciousness is merely a dim reflection of this. I know these things, that's why I am called Star Lord.

It is continuously receiving, processing, and emitting data. Data that has got to do with the development and destiny of civilizations, planets, and solar systems.
-
I must have fallen into the same abyss then. The Sun has a consciousness far beyond human understanding, in my opinion, no perception. It's not just theory, he once "talked" to me in a manner most surprising and quite impossible for me to explain. All I can say, in a moment of crisis, he was aware of me as an individual and greatly cheered me up. It is part of human ignorance to think that stars are stupid gas balls. In their non-linear plasma dynamics, incredible data streams are being processed. But I don't expect an atheist who only believes in what is tangible to follow me here. All I expect from you is to respect that others don't necessarily share your world view though, and are welcome to voice theirs on this forum.

Would you like to help me define my, "Definite Cheif Aim"?
Michael Sternbach replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
The thing is, yes, the Universe can provide you with everything you need and wish. It will do this to the extent that you fulfill your mission in life. You were bestowed with certain gifts that you are meant to use for the benefit of all. There HAS to be an energy exchange for the LoA to work. Please contemplate this. -

Right. And little dogs are little dogs. -

Visualizing things is a great first step. Then let it go and let the Universe take you in that direction. But what if the Universe wants you to do something for achieving your dreams? In my experience, sometimes, you have to spend some energy to get what you wish. Bruce Lee gave his goals a lot of energy! I doubt that he would have thought of it as effort though, he did what he liked to do until he was so good at it that people were offering him a lot of money for doing it. So mayhaps you should simply ask yourself what you really want to do in life, go for it, and stick with it. Here is an affirmation that might help: I do what I enjoy, and I enjoy everything I do. -

He was a Sagittarius too. We Sagis like to set our goals high. Good idea to read Bruce's biography. I read it in my late teenage years and found it quite inspiring. -
It isn't easy to decide for anyone, let alone prove, which of the two versions Lao Tzu had in mind. You can find an elaborate discussion of the pros and cons for either version here: http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/19370-ttc-study-chapter-50-of-the-tao-teh-ching/ If anybody wishes to pursue the topic further, please do so on that thread, where it belongs.

Alright, here goes. The Fool is usually shown as a wanderer, he is everywhere and nowhere. The Magician, however, is usually depicted standing in one place; he has opened the bag that the Fool was carrying (in some decks), spread out his tools, and started putting them to use. If the Fool is a circle, the Magician is its centre - around which the cross of the four elements is arranged. In order for one to continuously create, one must take a firm and balanced stance. From there, the Magician is able to focus the force that pours into him from Infinity. That's the reason why he is frequently shown with a lemniscate above his head. While the Fool is pure potential, the Magus is the realization of the latter. In many decks, he is standing in front of a cube or a square table, symbolizing the physical world into which he channels his transcendental power. On another level, if the Fool stands for the Big Bang and the singular energy it released, the Magician represents the symmetry breaking that lead to the differentiation of that energy into the four known forces (electromagnetism, gravitation, strong nuclear force, weak nuclear force). Both are filled with divine force and therefore ecstatic, but whereas the Fool lets this force propel him wherever it might, the Magician directs it in a particular direction; his ecstasy is an instrument he uses according to his will. Both are related to the archetypal trickster, this is another thing they have in common. Hope this helps.

It would be quite presumptuous to take for granted that we have a full comprehension of all the physics that were involved. So it's better to be careful. If we were only looking for a safe place to our discard nuclear warheads, we could probably melt them safely in the sun though (without any explosions). Better yet we would find a way to artificially accelerate the decay of those nuclear elements to a harmless metal, as some out-of-the-box-thinkers say is feasible.

Yes, 0 is equivalent to The Fool, a central archetype in Daoism. I talked about this here: http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/38847-the-tao-of-tarot/#entry634625 The attitude of the mystic who is satisfied being imbued with the Spitit is represented by The High Priestess, whereas the magus is seeking to use the power of the Spirit to cause change in the world (as the cat has explained).

Do I trust my visions or the heart specialist?
Michael Sternbach replied to ChiForce's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Yes, I'm with you here, basically. And better find a really good specialist. I have a friend in Florida who was diagnosed with hives. The prescribed treatment didn't help at all. So she went to another doctor, eventually, who quickly concluded that it was scabies. This quite freaked her out. And again, the treatment doesn't seem to be doing much. Also, all the pictures of scabies eczema on the Internet look quite different from hers... But it's fairly common that every doctor you consult comes up with a different diagnosis. To me, it's simply a condition that calls for Pulsatilla (a homeopathic remedy). But she continues to trust orthodox medicine over anything else. Well, that is her choice... Anyway, CF, whatever your mother decides: Best of luck to her! -
Oh, just use your universal Swiss pocket knife, there is nothing it can't cut... For that, I simply listen to Leonard Cohen. You could also think of the whole of your existence as a continuous spectrum, ranging from the heights of the spirit all the way down to the physical. The way I see it, the question is how to best express the spirit in the flesh. And that will at once make the flesh more spiritual. Interesting that you should bring this up. First off, we must differentiate between the objective body (the subject of anatomy etc) and the subjective body (the German "Leib"; I couldn't find a direct English equivalent for this). The latter is the beginning of our perception of space. There is much to meditate about here... I feel that you are cutting an awful lot of corners here, my friend. Sometimes it's best to stop and enjoy taking long and deep looks at the environment. What are you going to see? Spirit everywhere!!! Yuck! I would need something a lot stronger than an espresso in preparation for this! The objective body may be considered a corpse, but not the subjective body ("Leib") that you experience. There is actually a third one... Okay, now you really got me startled. The alchemical Philosopher's Stone as a Buddhist concept?! Seriously?! Transforming the Buddha body, yes, that's something I can relate to. Tis also the aim of certain Yoga and Qigong/Neidan practices. Oh boy, I already once had an argument about that with my sister (who is into Tibetan Buddhism). I think that a human incarnation is followed by another one pretty quick (in terms of Earth time, anyway). And mind you, humans aren't exactly a rarity, especially in our time. I think such statements are just there to spur the believers into more devotion to their practice. I once pissed off a Buddhist teacher at a public speech by saying that I'm in no particular hurry to be done with this world. Then again, if my existence was full of suffering, poverty, illness etc, such a prospect would possibly be more attractive. For this, you deserve a golden smilie. Why do our projects and goals have no lasting benefit? Their benefit may go far beyond our physical life-time, in fact. You see, once again, your philosophy is one of leaving this world behind. While I teach embracing and transforming it. Yes, but our karma, and the awakening of our human potential, has a lot to do with our projects and relationships. There are guides and inner knowledge available wherever your spirit goes. You can count on that. Okay, I will try to invoke another maniac from the Hermetic TDB Order. Nungali, appear before us!

Do I trust my visions or the heart specialist?
Michael Sternbach replied to ChiForce's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I agree with others here, ChiForce. Listen to your dreams and intuition. The more chemical medicines somebody is taking, the more ill they become, essentially. As that kind of medicine only palliates problems and thus actually reinforces them, rather than bringing them to the surface and healing them. Homeopathy knows this since 200 years. You are not the only one who is looking for a heartbeat, MH! -
Actually, I agree with Nungali that we should be careful about nuclear explosions in space. They can crack open the phantom zone and allow negative forces to enter our Universe...
-
Right. Especially if they have studied the Art of War.
-
Absolutely. We could use them for driving a spaceship to a nearby star. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_%28nuclear_propulsion%29 Or we could use them to stir up and rekindle our sun, when it will be getting weaker in the (admittedly far) future. (By stirring up its billions of tons of hydrogen that will supposedly never become part of the nuclear fusion process otherwise.)
