If you willingly cut the flesh from your own body as your own consensual loving choice and offered it to me in compassion for the nutrients it contains, I would graciously eat your gift given in compassion. If the flesh came from something that didn't consensually donate its vessel for my nutrition, I would not eat it to not support the murder of that consciousness and theft of its vessel. I've bottle nursed piglets, sheep, cows and goats. I've raised chickens from chicks. They all have dreams, personalities and their reality models are no more or less correct than my own. I don't need to choose actions which impose aspects into their realities which I wouldn't wish to be reflected into my own (like being kept in cages and slaughtered for the theft of their vessels). I also experienced nothing profound from beginning vegetarian, and it was due to still eating dairy and eggs. The milk/cheese is available because they take the new calf from the mother cow shortly after birth so it doesn't drink up that milk, and if the cow is male it's slaughtered for veal after a few months of having its head locked between metal poles standing in its own accumulating feces pile until the day it gets its head released from the bars only to get its throat slit and hung upside down to bleed out. While I was vegetarian it took visiting a cow dairy farm and sheep dairy to witness what I was paying others to do before I became vegan, as I knew it was not something I would ethically choose to do myself, so paying someone else to do what I wouldn't felt as cowardly and disagreeable as hiring an assassin. After becoming vegan rather than vegetarian, I did notice a spiritual difference, though I wasn't doing it for that reason nor expecting to notice any difference. I don't know if the difference is from karmic choices, the energy of the matter building my body as daily billions of cells die and billions of new cells replace them, or whatever mental or physical energy effects may be related, but I'm grateful in this one moment to experience living unburdened and in unbreakable peace. Thank you for your kind reply friend. I accept any/all logical errors and surrender them to you. I lack even the capacity to know if I'm dreaming this moment and make no claims of knowing or methods of expressing Truth in the form of shapes of pixels on a screen. For the first few decades of my life I predominately ate dead animal carcass, joked I was a carnivore, and teased vegetarians and vegans for their diet choices, so I don't judge anyone for whatever they want to eat, because it's them who has to live in a vessel composed from bits of the energy of torture and murder for whatever reasons not important for me to understand. Neither of us understand how our bodies take in some mashed up food energy and convert it into the collective of trillions of living cell's energy cooperating together to compose our bodies. We don't even know the shapes of the organs in the cells we're manufacturing billions of daily, or understand the functions or shapes beyond crude dissection and microscopy observations. Diet choice and other actions/karma become dependently arising on a beings awareness and compassion. When a being embraces compassion towards their own self-awareness, they reflect this compassion towards other beings. With compassion for themselves and other beings, no flavor preferences justify the torture and murder other beings to satisfy ones own fleeting mouth/tongue/belly sensations. As a function of not living the karma of choosing themselves or others to torture and murder other living beings, they don't build themselves from that type of energy or karma (our choices and actions). With awareness of the existence of the sentience and reality and perspective of all beings, choosing a non-vegan meal choice feels as twisted and objectionable as if someone asked you to torture and murder a loved pet dog/cat/bunny/bird and gut it and chop up it's body for their preference in sensory amusement. Fortunately, we don't have to make tomorrows meal choices today anymore than we have to live tomorrows opportunity to express karma and energy today. Just this one moment alone encompasses the whole of the real choice in thought/action. Unlimited Love, -Bud

Karma will still behave as perfectly as gravity. It requires none of a beings understanding, concern or attention to function. Energy will still behave as perfectly as gravity. It requires none of a beings understanding, concern or attention to function. If a being wishes to show kindness to themselves, it will still happen the instant they choose to appreciate their one moment. Their will always be infinite reasons why a being could optionally choose not to appreciate this moment, yet it remains exclusively the choice of a single being to show compassion to themselves. When a being consumes the energy of tortured murdered carcasses and builds a body from this energy, it's both karma and energy functioning perfectly to transfer that energy of suffering to compose your vessel. No other being has the capacity to appreciate your life experiences for you, it is a gift you alone can give yourself, and only you alone hold yourself back. In this one moment it remains optionally possible to forgive yourself, forgive all beings for all possibilities of what may have occurred or may be yet to occur, and this severing of self-imposed bonds enables a seed of self-compassion to grow. This compassion for self reflects in compassion and appreciation for all beings and all circumstances conditional and non-conditional as an aspect of the whole of the Dao. It is equally possible to choose to experience unbounded pointless suffering by choosing to cling to uncompassionate not-forgiving and not-appreciating whatever may be, and each being is free to do so until their last breath if they choose.

Committing today to appreciate tomorrow's moment is just wasting Now in self delusion. The universe owes you not even one more breath or heartbeat and never has. Gratitude for the sensation of perceiving this one moment makes all experience genuinely good, as it offers new depth of perspective and enriching phenomena. It's equally just one beings choice in Now between suffering in a palace of comforts or savoring every ragged bit of breath flooded with enriching pain receptor nerve signals with only genuine appreciation for the opportunity to continue seeing the sky. Karma works as reliably as gravity with the energy we expend in thought/action leading to perfectly manifesting the experience proportionately to their choice in mindfulness and creativity. What may have been is irrelevant and inexpressible, what may yet be is irrelevant and inexpressible. Choice in appreciation is the difference between an experience being 'good or bad', the experiential phenomena exists only in this one moment alone. If a being chooses to show kindness to themselves, it begins by appreciation of this one moment of life experience exactly as it is. The universe will reflect and manifest the experiences needed, not the experiences wanted. Wanting only instantly manifests the experience of wanting. Manifesting happens through a beings choice in mindful thought/action in this one moment.
-
The nature of reality offers some sensations of phenomena. Self-torture ends when phenomena is greeted with genuine appreciation. When a beings thoughts match their speech and actions and the choice of appreciation of what may or may not be is unbreakable, karma will not be an opponent to be tangled with but an opportunity to live actions aligned with the Dao.

Whatever fantasy one clings to knowing one is or isn't in a simulation is equally ones own choice in self-delusion. Whatever aspects of the Dao which are not seen as perfect are not imperfect aspects of the Dao, but rather imperfect aspects of recognition and appreciation of the true nature of the Dao. Each being can not perceive or appreciate the whole of the real Now for anyone else but themselves, and it's a full time 24-7 focus just to align ourselves alone with the Dao. Whatever aspects of concern or complaint with how some other beings choose to appreciate the Dao is merely oneself demonstrating they equally have failed to appreciate the Dao. Yin and Yang are simply empty constructed labels to describe the same whole system alone which cannot be described, only appreciated or feared to the limits of a beings choice in mindfulness and creativity. Seeing, Recognising & Maintaining One's Enlightening Potential
Bud Jetsun replied to C T's topic in Buddhist Textual Studies
All that a being researches about the nature, bond structure, and composition of water, no matter the sincerity or duration of effort applied to remembering, reading, chanting, or sitting pondering the aspects of water leaves one's throat quenched of thrist. The options are to drink the water or die having wasted the always present opportunity in this moment. Human body experience lasts only one moment, with no extra moments or trial-run or do-over moments possible. It is a fly flapping it's wings once between womb departure to grave arrival. This moment which incorporates the whole of the human phenomenonal reality offers each being at all times the optional capacity to appreciate the real and lay down the constructed indoctrinated preferencing and embrace what is with genuine appreciation. This lays down the unnecessary and incompassionate burdens of preference, worry, and delusion (beliefs) separating a being from the natural state. Anything which is not re-linking the being to the natural-state, no matter the tradition, no matter the intent, no matter if someone else had success previously, the portions of the moment consumed by it only serve as an added barrier between the being and the real. Ones consciousness is never the same twice, and the same lesson is never optimal to receive or practice twice if one's objective is to always ratchet forward towards embracing into embracing the real. Buddha was not a Buddhist, he was a man who wasted decades of ascetic life until finally deciding to commit to jump when he sat down under the tree and decided to shed the constructed delusions or perish trying. After success, he advised his fellow acetics to find food to cook a nice big meal for everyone. They called him nuts and left him due to attachment to acetic dogma preventing them from recognizing the goal had been reached and that it's was always just a choice available Now alone, and not something created as a result of being hungry while walking or sitting in special ways. Every being already has exactly what they need to make the jump if they accept they singularly create, and control their minds over their whole lives, and are free to mindfully choose to never trade their peace and respect for the Daos inherent perfection in all aspects. Our role is to surrender our delusions of knowledge and suffered choice in preferences and labels used to disrespect the Dao which can not be good/bad/imbalanced or human expressable. Unlimited Love, -Bud -
There is no "even", no "more even" and the Dao never has been imbalanced even for a moment. Just beings choosing to live compassion or live fear and suffering. The moment a being wishes ill will or harms to another being they have proven they are no better than whom/whatever they wished harms towards. All energy of bad intention is merely fear, and in choosing it the universe will reflect it back to that being. Digging out of a hole doesn't happen by getting help with better shovels or professional digging advise, it happens when the digging stops and kind merits help the dirt to fall back into the hole. Whatever aspect of a being feels they need some aspect of vengeance is merely ego alone working to further separate a being from appreciating it's true Self. Unlimited Love, -Bud

One is free to imagine and hence perceive experiencing all the artificially self imposed limits they wish on themselves. Yet it will remain singularly their own choice alone to self-impose them, and has always been optional to conclude if a being wishes to express compassion to themselves. It becomes effortless the moment one realizes they only need to do it for a single moment. Imagining you're doing it for tomorrow ahead of this moment is when you trade the real and hence enter struggle in pointless self-delusion fantasy waiting for 'tomorrow' to never occur. A being choosing to appreciate the real and not the constructed, along with realization why there never was something that could be known is the laying down of delusion and alignment of perspective with wisdom. Every being is capable of achieving it Now through living the basics and choosing unbreakable mindful commitment. Some choices are instantly their own best reward in doing. It does not require adding any type of dogma or labels or ritual or chanting, this merely requires laying down all things which are not appreciation of Now. If an activity inspires the being to decide to choose to appreciate now it's a wonderful blessing. Life is short, and direct experiential Buddha-mind appreciators were not found in any temples all over Asia or the USA after visiting many. Someones previous path or method which was right for that being who made it alone. Orthodox or organized and labeled dogmas are all built upon a foundation which if followed/mimicked is at best genuinely living an impostor role playing exercise. Compassion and Love both are not possessions one may store up in a drawer or cling to as some fantasy of what may have been or yet will be. They exist only in ones choice to live them in Now through living mindful choice in thought/speech/action. Unlimited Love, -Bud

Body and Mind was given agility and balance to do more than walk in circles and sit. A being builds no merit, and experiences no development through the act of walking in circles or sitting alone, it happens only when they choose to experience the real and hence begin living the Dao. This choice requires no prerequisites, and has no other path to occurring than mindfully choosing it in this one infinitesimal moment composing that whole of the real. The Buddha had everything he needed before he sat down under the tree and so does every being. Beings remain firmly locked into their egos fantasy illusion of the non-real for as long as they choose to imagine the real of their moment is something always out of reach. Unlimited Love, -Bud

When you can draw another breath, and it's not generating paralyzing muscle spasms to do it, this is enough to appreciate the state of Now one is experiencing. Each being remains free, limited only by it's creativity and choice in mindfulness to gratefully receive this moment as it comes, this alone is liberation. When one lays down the burden of knowing, wisdom in the nature of reality becomes appreciated vs dissected. Worrying about what may or may not be appreciated in this one moment costs a being opportunity for appreciation of their own moment, as we each only get our mindful choice in attention whether we use it to appreciate the real Now or continue to imagine oneself could have ever at any point been separated from it. The moon is spectacular tonight, and the greatest light-show on earth happens globally free twice a day, the air is clean enough to support your life. Every breath taken in grateful appreciation has always been an option available to every being during their one moment, it only takes laying down the aspects not choosing it, which turns out not to be worth it to pick-up again after a good taste of the alternative. If a being had a single running race to run, say a 100mile dirt trail mountain run, only against a time for themselves, not any other runner, and when the race was over, you died immediately, and if you don't run the race you also die immediately, and the race has no rules outside the realm of possible physics and thermodynamics and chemistry, it would seem sensible to use the best shoes you could find and the best combination of nutrition and for race day some kind of powerful stimulant and pain killers and steroid and nootropic stack and eat and drink only the most ideal food and drink during the race no matter the taste, and leverage the best GPS tech or whatever else might be worth the weight to run with. Every choice in added experiential perspective adds new opportunities for appreciating the nature of whatever the text 'reality' may mean to a being. Limiting ones set of life experiences to be replaced with some type of orthodoxy to replace appreciation of whatever the nature of the real may be, which isn't important in any aspects which can be known, only experienced. Seek enriching experiences and embrace them. Unlimited Love, -Bud Pleas from a man choosing to tightly grip a burning coal may be soothed and concluded by appreciation of the nature of reality offered in the Diamond sutra.

People choosing to think of cruel/careless actions to do and then chosing to complete them causes cruelty. Requires no special skills or insights to do, provided the recipient is willing to receive whatever action as cruelty. If one gives the Zen master a flower he/she may smile, if one thrusts a sword into their guts, he/she may smile. Shedding delusion and instead embracing the whole of the real is enlightenment. Enlightened beings have no restrictions on retaining the capability to behave how they choose as every other being also retains. Enlightened beings may recognize every being who isn't recognizing complete mindfulness and compassionate choice in thought as masochistic already beyond the ability of outside effects to be meaningful. Enlightened beings may recognize every being not recognizing complete mindfulness in actions as sadistic, intentionally or unintentionally. Beings choosing not to appreciate the real are also optionally capable of recognizing and/or imagining whatever they choose. Unlimited Love, -Bud

Whatever aids a being in making the choice to appreciate the real(this moment) is the 'right *ism', and requires no labels. To which Dharma does a Buddha cling? To which philosophy model does a Buddha replace reality? Pick the gems of wisdom out of the mud and it will remain a gem of wisdom. No spare moment to spend on squabbles. Every day begins a new opportunity for self-discovery adventure in becoming the will of the Dao. Every night begins a new opportunity for self-discovery adventure in becoming the will of the Dao. What is Buddhism/the Buddha incorrect about?
Bud Jetsun replied to Phoenix3's topic in Buddhist Discussion
What a Daoist doesn't like is inherently the same as what a Buddhist or any other being doesn't like, aspects of themselves interpreted through sensory phenomenon to be loved or feared the limit of the beings creativity and choice in mindfulness. The Dao remains equally indescribable for all manner of *ists, while equally remaining the cause of all experiential phenomenon with indifference to the beings choice in flavor of belief/thought/delusion. Wisdom remains where the knowing isn't, the Dao remains that which you have not appreciated or all illusion of conflict existing in its perfect balance would already be recognized as mere flavoring choices in mechanisms for voluntary suffering as a function of incompassion. Unlimited Love, -Bud -
Whatever one types is some patterns of symbols never expressing more than the individual readers minds interpretation. Some interpretations may transcend the authors, some may seem to fall short from some perspectives. None the same as the authors without the same beings perspective on the same life experiences. Yet still something so beautiful and brilliant and clear remains while the little minds circles pause. Unlimited Love, -Bud

Bold and brave karma dancing to make the weather a play toy and car wash. In respect for lifes balance of what beings live beyond LAs asphalt dying of thirst. My occupation is creating the energy storage solutions that enable no more burning things in respect for the life support system on our beautiful shared spaceship some label climate. It's happening exactly as fast as it needs to, through mindfully solving one technical challenge at a time, and the work is it's own best reward in doing. So much power and energy cultivated Taomeow, remember to wield it with gentleness and care, and not to be distracted by it from seeing the Taos own perfect flow enabling it. Surfing a big powerful wave feels amazing, getting sucked under along rocks on the ocean floor feels amazing. Unlimited Love, -Bud

Enjoy this belief and any other belief maintaining a dependently arising and self-imposed suffering of phenomena which simply IS. Focus just on getting your own choices to be in harmony with the Tao. The Tao will remain flawless, and your inner Buddha nature remains flawless. What separates them and arises all conflicts and suffering is not appreciating the perfect Tao and perfect Buddha nature. 2 decades ago, my lifestyle was such that it lead to carelesely manifesting someone applying a good effort towards beating me to death with brass knuckles through the window while I was still seat belted into my racecar. Eye socket broken, jaw broken, teeth broken, eye lid cut and dangling, eye brow split down to visible skull and a dozen gashes and bruises through the back of my scalp and concussion and brain swelling. At that point in my life, I chose to suffer it pointlessly due to lack of compassion for self. Still have some permanent 'floaters' in my vision from the eye ball damage and bone spur lumps on my skull in places. The Tao provides exactly precisely what I needed at that time in my life to make a shift in my life choices. It was not a bad thing or a bad experience, like all experiences it was precisely perfectly what was needed. Even one less hit with brass knuckles to my face would have been inadequate to create the path change needed. Every other bit of phenomena in this moment has also been precisely what it needed to be, no less and no more. Only my choice to see and appreciate its inherent perfection is what's changed between life in a pointlessly suffering delusion vs life in unbreakable gratitude and liberation. Unlimited Love, -Bud
-
The Tao provides perfectly for you inherently to be able to type this. Enough sun, enough rain, or you would be dead already vs here to complain about the life support keeping you alive to enable imagining complaints about its aspects of providing. Wherever you 'see no Tao' is not where the Tao isn't, but merely arbitrary choices to selectively recognize and appreciate the Tao which never diminished in its perfection or balance in providing and sustaining your life with each breath of this beautiful sky. With each inhalation you drink the sky's blood and it sustains the energy flow processes in your body. This is a precious gift beyond all material items, as no material items offer much without breathing the sky to keep this body animate to remain free to enjoy or complain as one chooses, depending on if they wish to live suffering or live liberation. Unlimited Love, -Bud
-
The Tao remains perfect if you understand why or not. If it only coddled you, it would be impossible to appreciate the difference from the non-coddled state. The dynamic range is the experiential phenomenon scope provided towards connecting to the real. Socal sky is beautiful tonight for your enjoyment. Unlimited Love, -Bud
-
In LA the sky is beautiful as I type this. There beauty will not appreciate itself in your reality without your consent. The magnitude of its beauty and appreciation of the Tao will remain limited only by one's mindful choice and creativity. It's all always been perfect, even when labeled drought, it's the harmony of nature balancing, always atom precise with no errors. Unbounded appreciation of the real remains available to every being whether any attention is paid or not, whether sky is clear or smoggy, whether breathing comes easy or labored, whether skin is warm or cold, which nerves are tickled with signals. All phenomena has been perfect, exactly what one needs in this aspect of perceiving a one moment. Our understanding why has never been a requirement in our ability to appreciate it. The Tao of the sky remains perfect, the Tao of the earth remains perfect, even if it's toxic, it's perfectly the result of whatever choices manifested it's being. Unlimited Love, -Bud
-
Every human body shares the sky in a link as intimate as the blood in your veins. Not appreciating the sky doesn't mean you don't drop the ground gasping and die rapidly without it. While it offers breaths that carry your bodies life energy, it remains pregnant with unlimited potential. A rare technique would include appreciation of one's Buddha nature Now. The sky, the earth, and the water all exist to enable appreciation of Buddha nature. Unlimited Love, -Bud

Committing isn't something heard or said, signed up for, or done tomorrow. Body and mind are committed only to die. Every breath is so precious, ratchet ever deeper into Now with each inhalation and exhalation in gratitude. Unlimited Love, -Bud
-
The commitment is to discover this one moment composing the whole of the real. As you said, the alternatives can be tiring and not yield what you expected. Enjoy deluded death while the body remains animate for the expenditure of your moment my friend, it's a very popular and traditional technique. Unlimited Love, -Bud

In respect for Buddhist tradition of over clarifying in compassion, the 'dreams' don't stop, they just become fully lucid and fully in your control to manifest bounded only by the limits of your imagination. They feel drastically unlike the qualities of experience of traditional unmindful wild dreams of a wild range of enriching experiences, but this is only limited by one's own choice in creativity This is what Siddhartha experienced as being tempted by 'Mara' s daughters. My emperical experience is limited, enjoying only a single stretch of 3 nights of real time perfect and limitless manifesting in dreams that occurred after a few 14hr+ international flights of unbroken meditation while leveraging a carefully selected multi plant teacher dose combination. 4th night enjoyed the experience of almost immediate loss to 'Mara', and it's not been an interest to rush another choice to manifest the experience. Continuous mindful lucid clarity night to morning and morning to night in a realm of unbounded complete control as vivid and beautiful as the awake dreaming experience. What you pay your thought attention towards is what the universe manifests. If you pay your attention to wanting something, instantly you have successfully manifested experiencing wanting. To achieve a given outcome, one must manifest the outcome not the wanting of the outcome. When humans think they are not of the emptyness or place bounds on what the emptyness may or may not be, this is humans sharing their own choice in delusion and confusion while the emptyness remains the unbounded true nature of reality. Many folks here can relate to experiencing a dream sleeping at night and 'wake' to find themselves at home in bed, and at that moment they are easily able to see the whole of the dream world they had just been experiencing was emptyness in all aspects the whole time. 'Waking' mind is just dreaming mind in equal emptyness, but while in the dream it appears as concrete as anything. A being is free to write unlimited tomes about philosophy, reality, and whatever 'beliefs' they choose as a preference flavoring, but still lacks the sensory capacity to distinguish even sleeping dreams from 'wake' dreams. Sleeping dream they are happy to believe containing only aspects of emptyness, but until true awakening the 'wake' dreams remain optionally available to interpret as 'not-empty' to the limit of one's creativity in choosing to maintain delusion. enlightenment Results oriented natural state awareness
Bud Jetsun posted a topic in Buddhist Discussion
The function of a 'religion' is to re-link or re-bind oneself to the natural state. Nothing that can be written, read, heard, chanted, realized, or comprehended contains more than human constructed fantasy choice to replace appreciation of the natural state with fleeting confusion. Buddhist temples in the US contain suffering beings, including a master pointlessly suffering the suffering students. Buddhist temples in China and Japan contain suffering beings, including a master pointlessly suffering the suffering students. Zen temples in the US contain suffering beings, including a master pointlessly suffering the suffering students. Zen temples in China and Japan contain suffering beings, including a master pointlessly suffering the suffering students. The teachers and students at each share and exchange various levels and styles of pointless suffering to hone the practice. The more expensive/elite the facility or retreat, the more creatively the participants have to work to maintain ways to replace the natural state with pointlessly suffering experiencing being in the company of their own mind. Discourse is centered around exchanging delusions, and a variety of non-committal ritual gestures, often including sitting. The summation of all religious texts, from Sumerian to Vedic, to Zen, to Buddhist poetry that may leave ones face streaked with tears of joy, is not more than some patterns of ink droplets or pixels, and does not contain the real or aspects of the natural state. A religion that you spend an hour a week on at a church or temple, or 20hrs a day on will offer no more than a body that's older and closer to death afterwards if it's done as some type of 'practice' or 'exercise' as opposed to a mindful lifestyle. All expressible thoughts are fleeting delusions that mercifully arise and persist and conclude, having never contained more than human sensory phenomena artifact induced confusion of what may be. The natural state has never for an instant been out of reach of any being, an experientially programmed and self-sustaining dependently arising illusion of thoughts are grasped at like vapors while the natural state remains. Waiting to appreciate Now tomorrow is death while the gift of the bodies function is still active. The universe shared an incredible gift of another spinal injury that included exactly the right number of weeks of laying immobile in an ocean of exactly the right amount of pain sensations delivered with every breath to befriend pain and all sensation with equanimity and sincere gratitude. Seeking 'Buddhism', or any religious dogma or ritual or doctrine adds another set of constructs separating awareness of the natural state. While this loan of energy in body-shape remains animate and responsive to the will of your consciousness, seek experience and embrace it. Unlimited Love, -Bud- 5 replies
