  1. Counterbalancing Good & Evil

Please alltogether please stop being good and evil i think this thread is one of the most interesting threads recently.
  2. The sacred shower

To me taking a cold shower is one of the best way of transforming "negativity" (cold, resistance) into "positivity" (warmth, energy) through acceptance and not resisting in daily life.I know you can do it in any other normal daily life activity but with a cold shower its so simple and physical i hope you know what i mean, i cant really express it what i really like is to go outside and just breath intuitively until i fet qarm again.i also experienced kind of the wim hof method when i did swim in river on a day that was not to warm i just did standing meditation afterwards and my breathing became like tummo breathing and after like 20 minutes i felt just great.that was an experience
  3. Personal Practice Discussion Thread Request

    Thank you dawei!
  4. Diet and Daoist practice

To seatle185: Yes gardening is the way to go.And if you have nature around its even more great to learn about edible wildplants like herbs, treeleaves and needles etc. You will get medicine that exactly fits the season and they are just full of energy
  5. Personal Practice Discussion Thread Request

Hello! Can i also get into and my thread in daoist discussion "spontaneous qigong" be moved to there? Best wishes!
  6. Diet and Daoist practice

To find a good diet isnt really easy.If you look at it scientifically you will find a lot of different views...So i think the key is get a good intuition and try different things and look how they affect you...For me it was like when i started with meditation and qigong i just planned to eat a more natural diet (older grain forms, no white sugar, meat from wild animals etc.) Then over the years my intuition forced me to become vegetarian then vegan , then grainfree, then raw vegan, and back to trying everything what i noticed for myself is that grains and beans have the baddest influence on me after that comes cowmilk cheese and meat. To strenghten intuition fasting can be very beneficial as well as qigong/meditation or just listening to your body and look at if it really needs a certain food or if it is a addiction. I can say that a no grain diet affects mmediationpractices really strong. Its really like this: https://www.google.de/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://sites.google.com/site/delawareteasociety/yoked-to-earth-a-treatise-on-corpse-demons-and-bigu&ved=0ahUKEwiHjYXSnqvTAhULEiwKHXlMDfMQFggaMAA&usg=AFQjCNFigEbccUUN8Fu_kp0WiHPc35sk0w
  7. Cooling Down

Long cold showers really helped me with this.try to relax while doing it is the key.
  8. Spontaneous qigong

To deltrus: ah that sounds all very good.my experience with spontaneous qigong is a little different... its more like after long hours of standing it kind of came by itself.so you are also doing zhang zhuang as well? If not i would have it advised to you to build up power... Best wishes to you!
  9. After what time Juice turns into tamas?

I think its like this... most cooked food is going to molder really fast and is going to smell really bad, while most raw fruits are going to ferment and you will get some prebiotic bacteria also. Also some alcohol but it has to ferment for a few days. So i think you dont need to worry.
  10. Daoist attitude to diet in the modern world

I think the most important thing is to get the natural instinct back that little children have.I think you can do it through meditation, qigong , fasting etc. I only planed to eat more natural like older grain forms, no white sugar, only meat from wild animals, etc. But then meditation made me go from vegetarian, to vegan ,to grainfree diet, to rawfood diet(i know some will say its too cooling but thats not true if done right), to spontaneously fasting every month etc. But also back again really a crazy feeling to eat meat after 10 years I think its good to try different things and then look how they affect you.Fasting is a kind of shortcut to that.It just somehow activates your instinct. Have a nice meal everybody!
  11. Agree and disagree at the same time. just kidding...
  12. Two Meals A Day?

Liminal_luke i am also a bif fan of intuition.and i also went back to eat meat after ten years of being vegan and raw vegan. needed something to bring me down. Ideally its good to eat completely spontaneously but i think lots of us are so far away from it that it is good to know and try some methods...
  13. All energy is equal?

Yes and no at the same time . The first lines of the tao te king give a hint...
  14. Two Meals A Day?

Had the most energy when i was eating only once a day ( in the evening) but i was eating everything i would normally eat in a whole day in a window of maybe 3 hours in the evening. You could search the net for intermediate fasting... best wishes!
  15. Qigong deviation syndrome cure ?

I would also say stop meditating/qigong for a longer time and start doing grounding things.Eat heavy things,do normal sports, and try to take cold showers daily maybe twice a day. There is nothing thats more grounding to me,it always helped with having to much energy. And try to relax while doing that!Salt baths are also good.Try to spend lots of time with family/friends also and keep away from spiritual thoughts/literature.Best wishes to you!I also had to do with similar problems but more before i started practicing. What also helped me was to stop eating onions/garlic and not so much spicy stuff.
  16. Taking cold showers always helped immediately. And some times its also good to not practice everyday.Make sure you have a long come down phase in your practice and rest afterwards.Best wishes!
  17. finding the path?

To Marblehead: Yes thats true.I think its meant more as a change of state of mind/consciousness and not so much a change in thinking and living. And it can be related directly to meditation. At first you start by doing little (watch your posture, breathing... etc maybe focus on some points and so on) later if you have learned to let go or UNLEARNED to hold to something, a lot of things start happen on their own until we maybe get to the point when there is no seperation between practicing and living life complete spontaneously.I would recommend the books of dschuang tsi and lie tsi to everyone who is interested in daoism because they break a lot of stereotypes asosiated with sages.
  18. finding the path?

Always loved the sentence: Start by doing little and then doing less and less until everything gets done..
  19. Plants and Shamanism

Its often said that the shamans who where really good didnt need drugs...From own experiences with psychoactive mushrooms i can say that the spiritual experiences where very unclear if compared to experiences that came from meditation. After ca. 10 years i even had to stop smoking weed... it just felt very very bad.I also think that with guidance of a good healer its possible to achieve good results but it will still be different from serious meditation practice.Even in the castaneda books don juan gives the drugs only to Carlos Castaneda because he was not smart enough...
  20. Can someone here educate me on zhan zhuang?

I think a huge part of power generation comes from the body structure which gets better and better over time. You learn to work with gravity or more like unlearning to work against it .But there is much more going on.My advice it to not focus to much on one kind of aspect and to just trust into the method.Stillness in mind and body...
  21. Can someone here educate me on zhan zhuang?

Its a qigong/mediation system that can be used for martial arts.I can recommend the books by lam kam chuen. And yes you will feel lighter by doing it, for me it took just 8 weeks of daily standing, after that i felt like everything was much easier walking, running etc. But it goes much deeper than that. There are good videos on youtube called stand still be fit by lam kam chuen.I would also say take your time with it and dont rush to hard but also always go to your borders...just not beyond
  22. Spontaneous qigong

I am also into spontaneous practice. For me it came after some years of daily standing and sitting(zuowang) practice. It changed a lot over the years. At first there where new standing positions, mudras while sitting, healing sounds, then came taiji and xinyilike movements, circle walking, and sometimesi am stumbling around like drunken immortal style .Its always changing and has a really deep effect. After it i often stand there with a big smile in my face and walk away very slow and amazingly relaxed. Here is a link to one of my videos (its not the actual practice more like a glimpse of it because i do not let go as much when i film, i think it would look to intense or something )
  23. nutrition and the path

Almonds have lots of it. Search the net you will be astound.
  24. nutrition and the path

Here where actually some posts about full moon and its effects on energy. What wondered me is that its written that it is considered the "old way". There is also a story about somebody who did eat like that in a cave , his eyes where shining so much that people got afraid of him and then a monk came by and told him to come with him to eat some rice again .Maybe its really a method that is not fitting in modern society. But i think there must be a way because i didnt want to do it, it came naturally.I always found very interesting that my interests change so hard with the diet.I think its really like how you described it.cooked food and salt make you domesticated what do you mean by 2017 ? Is it a special year for you?
  25. nutrition and the path

I try to make it short, when i started practicing i planned to eat more natural (meat from wild animals, fish that my father had captured, older forms of grains, lots of veggies wild herbs and so forth but after a few month practicing (standing meditation and zuowang) meat seemed like a stone to me it just didnt want me to eat it.So i became vegan. After some years of practicing i was literally forced to stop eating grains( they started to smell really bad and a gave me a strange feeling in my stomach) so i mainly ate buckwheat and potatoes with lots of veggies and wild greens. Also i was drawn to raw foods they saturated me much more. After maybe eight weeks like this my body started to feel really light and i had lots of energy(sometimes i ran around just for fun) then i was made to go completly raw for almost one year.It was really intense in both directions (amazing energy and consciousness but also heavy detox symptoms.I also started fasting but it was more like i had to do it , i just couldnt eat and found it disgusting, interestingly it was always the three days before full moon when it happened. After that i started to eat only in the evening and that felt great, i was never hungry had great energy and a clear mind and in the evenings always some good meals . Also had some minor mystical experiences at that time but after a year i just couldnt handle the energy and forced myself to eat some noodles .It was like taking a drug, brought me down to earth or something.Since then i never again managed to do it for so long because i got the impression that it seperated my from the people around me.But i am still eating grain free and lots of raw food, mostly nuts seeds and fruit, sometimes i eat sheep chease and meat from wild animals or good quality grass fed meat. The few times i ate grains i always noticed a huge shift in consciousness (everything looked darker and more physical and i felt more seperated from the world.I dont want to say anybody whats the right way, just want to share my experiences.Cow cheese is also a no go for me its like alcohol and makes to much slime in my body.Have a nice meal everyone! and sorry for my english...
