Well there is a time for night and a time for day; it really is as simple as that.

Perhaps evil is inherited, rather than inherent; If so then we would most likely perceive our evil to be good ...

Pranam, There was me thinking that we are inherently sentient apes, herbivores who resort to carnivorous activities when needs must, and then eventually to cannibalism when we become over crowded perhaps pressured by environmental factors to do so, such as the weather; food for thought there. Good evil or black and white, this kind of thinking is highly limited. The vedic view is I think best, we were spiritual much more advanced prior to the bronze age.

I think Jyotis can help them and their families in their situation, a lot better than occidental psychiatry; with no comparison. It is not an illness, it is a repetitive cyclic manifestation of karma that is badly misguided, that needs to be redirected. Else rinse and repeat ad infinitum. Mantra is an excellent place to start. With knowledge of the self people change; I mean of the Self, not of them self. To my mind, It is occidental lack of awareness of the nature of self, that essentially creates the problem. Combined with a social structure that reflects the same.

Hallucinations can occur whilst one is clearing the path to a more effective mind, I think generally confusion in the reception of new more subtitle senses. To be ignored adamantly.

My pleasure, The still mind will give you the answers and it is not you that is doing this, ideas then grow like a plant rather than being "man-ufactured". Nice picture and proverb.

Ok, hands are important; who knows which of their eyes are dominant? Very important to note for any budding Archers present ... Right handed, left eyed.

Hello White Wolf Running On Air, Here is another take on the 3rd eye. Discriminate as you please .... The 3rd eye is greatly misunderstood but then we must understand that insight is the hallowed brother of folie. The minds eye, for right discrimination or clairvoyance; literally "clairvoyance" means to see clearly; To know the present with lucidity, is to understand the nature of time by which you might then see a probable future; please Let me try to explain this a little more thoroughly ... First step is to diminish the ego; the ego will skew everything you perceive, the bigger it is the less clearly you will see the world around you, altering it to that which you wish to see, this world view has a greatly diminished ability for foresight or insight of any kind. Second step, remove self doubts with out enlarging the ego; a tricky thing to achieve may take many rebirths. Once commenced on a path of humility you can begin to understand your past life, this will also help you to diminish the ego by way of its simultaneous occurrence; You must understand that this past life is not of a life prior to your current birth, nor is it really even prior to now, simply your current life's path up until now. Understanding this is essential in realising who you actually are. It is only in understanding this, that you might start to begin to understand and empathises with others, rather than projecting your self upon them, understand clearly the present as it is, rather than how you would like it to be; As an observer of sorts, somewhat less involved. Knowledge gained of the present will then help you to better understand your past, in a dynamic process of growth, again this may take quite some time. Once clairvoyance is achieved, history, rather than being an entity depicted by others, will become your own informed opinion; with an accurate assessment you might then guide your self to any one of many probable futures, emphasis on probable being highly linked to the notion of clairvoyance, and thus you can know your future; or perhaps I should better say; know your path ... You might also find your mind opening up in visual clarity; rather like discovering that you actually have powerful RAM memory; instead of the cassette tape recorder that is fed to you by others. Simple as that ... A guru or teacher might be required in order to help you think freely, the propensity for delusion and psychosis during this procedure is elevated and It can also happen spontaneously; so it is wise to be informed.

Can anyone recommend a good book on Einstein's Theory of Relativity?

Try his original paper; always a good place to start, you might be brighter than you think as it is quite simple, very elegant: http://www.fourmilab.ch/etexts/einstein/specrel/www/I If you have a basic notion of maths you can follow most of concepts without doing the math. -

Objective Vs Subjective - How we can be more honest with ourselves, and then others
iain replied to Rara's topic in General Discussion
I think you may misunderstand my use of the word reincarnation, I mean rebirth and under no circumstances do I mean of the ego when referring to inter lives. The birth and death of the ego happens in this life. I mark a very big distinction between these two cycles; though they may mirror each other. Yes I see, Perhaps Heaven as the sky and as the stars at night ...- 175 replies

Thank you PLB, for your considered reply. It sounds as though Zhuangzi is referencing reincarnation, and perhaps asking himself where the future lays? Solipsism is not how I would define my own belief at all, that everything emanates from subjectivity is not a reference to self nihilism, for an example of this, I believe that times opens as a lotus and that the two are similar because of an underlying internal pattern that is very subjective indeed, and that this is a big part of how nature balances its self; in a cycle of destruction and growth. If we live in one universe of an multiversity, then that universe is its self subjective, this subjectivity runs as a key thread through objects irrespective of space. Interesting that Heaven is a concept used, is this speaking of another place or dimension after death, or is this perhaps reference to the future?- 175 replies

Subjectivity does not need nor does it imply personification; there lays the crux of the difference between our understanding; I think cause of the circular nature of this conversation; we are defining the meaning of English words based upon an interpretation itself dependant upon an entire philosophical system or model. I wonder do you know the original words for subjectivity and objectivity in the language of Tao; any other meanings that they may also have? Usage is often different between languages due to interpretation.- 175 replies

How Do The 12 Meridians Connect To One Another ?
iain replied to Sebastian's topic in General Discussion
Hello Michael,, yes they are fascinating aren't they and the man himself was fantastic. None of my thoughts are mine, I draw on them from a bigger picture in my minds eye based on things that I have read and validated and I am terrible for forgetting sources, having validated a source I will remember its right justification and its consequential meaning but then tend to forget the name as being a waste of brain space; this is not a concious effort, my brain just does it. Happy to chat if it gives you any ideas. I am trying to force myself to make references now to help express ideas. Piezoelectricity is vital to this; bordering on the meeting of light and electricity; of course pressure is critical. -

Hang on a minute; is a mountain objective or subjective if we like it? You wont bump into it, you will experience tired legs whist walking up it, yet enjoy the experience ... Very sore arms should you try to move it. It was there before man, yet it is movable by him. Hummm, I am not yet convinced.- 175 replies

I am saying then, that the Moon is subjective to Tao ... That subjectivity is the underlying state of objectivity. I am not limiting my definition of sujectivity. The siva sutras were written on the underside of a large rock I am new to this philosophy and thus am learning the differences in meaning of English words which have been translated to the same thing from differing concepts. Thank you for then being so understanding of my ignorance. A curious circumstance indeed- 175 replies

Objective is only universal to "You" with out the observer it becomes subjective by default. A subject exists before it is nominated and thus objectified; our awareness of it is irrelevant.- 175 replies

How Do The 12 Meridians Connect To One Another ?

Forget DC, it is not a useful analogy, think of channels as being the route of least resistance for the flow of a field. You can not play music on a DC current. -

In my tradition earth is at the tail bone; the head is the primary +ve the sex the -ve; the frequency generator is just beside the heart, the power source is the stomach. Though come to think of it the earth may well be considered the sex and the tail bone the -ve; I'll need to think a bit on that one. -
How Do The 12 Meridians Connect To One Another ?

Hello Sebastian, If I might interject here, I study a slightly different school from yours though based on the same system with different terminology. I shall refrain from entering the technical side other than to justify your desire to understand this in an Occidental fashion. The wording "magical jump" leads me to think that you are considering electricity as a flow inside of a wire; this will not aid your understanding, you might consider that electricity flows as a field around the wire and that between yin and yang it is a field carrying a signal that is (AC) and not a simple direct current. Not only that but that it is extremely low amperage but very high frequency oscillation; creating an effect like that of a tesla coil not a mains plug. Obviously this is not electricity it is chi which is probably better described as light, but I feel that the analogy is good for this mental justification. MRI scans measure in a unit called a tesla; Think biological induction rather than a wired connection ...
