  1. Internet mysticism

Before the birth and resurection of our Sauviour and Lord Jesus Christ born of the Holy Spirit and baptized by Saint John the Baptist, in the eternal radiant light of the Father. Don't go into this maze.
  2. Internet mysticism

What is energy anyway? They say they looked but there is nothing there. Now, they are not looking hard enough, not looking at all or they are simply blind. How could nonexistence exist? These people need to catch up on human knowledge, man... "For never shall this prevail, that things that are not are." - Parmenides of Elea, greek philosopher from the year 500 Before the birth and resurection of our Sauviour and Lord Jesus Christ born of the Holy Spirit and baptized by Saint John the Baptist, in the eternal radiant light of the Father.

Clinging, thus creating good and evil, thus bringing the world into existence. Or something... "When this exists, that comes to be. With the arising of this, that arises. When this does not exist, that does not come to be. With the cessation of this, that ceases." — Samyutta Nikaya

    From whence comes the question?

  8. You cannot escape, he he he he! I bet that this enlightenment thing is like being high all the time...got to get me some of that.
  9. The Tao of atheistic materialism

THIS IS NOT EVEN REAL!!! ...but everyone knows this... I don't know why I had to write in capital letters. This is bad Karma.
  10. The Tao of breathing

Here is an interesting quote from the Bhavagadgita which refers to breath regulation: "Yet some offer as sacrifice, the outgoing into the in-coming breath, and the in-coming into the out-going, stopping the courses of the in-coming and out-going breaths, constantly practising the regulation of the vital energy; while others yet of regulated food, offer in the Prânas the functions thereof." http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/sbg/sbg09.htm

  13. The illusion is the ideea that there is a illusion. IMO.
  14. Man has only to know himself

If taken literally, then it is quite absurd. You make a good point about the fact that being aware of ignorance isn't being aware of self, it's just being aware of self-deception. I agree. So then "Know Thyself" means transcending one's own ignorance. But what does transcending one's own ignorance mean...ignorance about what...to imply that ignorance is part of the human condition seems to be a very broad statement, so it cannot refer to anything particular as in being ignorant of the location of the TV remote. We must also keep in mind that the aphorism is found in the context of a mystical tradition, it is the Oracle of Delphi, not Oprah or Doctor Ozz.
  15. Spooky Coincidence !

Ah, yeah...it seems very plausible. Maybe the purpose of making such god-like structures was to scare peasants into submission..they didn't have TV back then. It definitely did the job.
  16. Man has only to know himself

lol . I didn't mean that kind of shock.....people don't say "I don't even know who i am anymore" after witnessing something that puts them in a state of shock. I meant, when they experience a intensely difficult period, like...when they're depressed or something...anyway...that's beside the point. The main question I was trying to evoke is: "What determines people to ask themselves the question 'Who am I?' ?" Edit: ...if it is taken literally, then it is quite absurd. What does it in fact mean? Or, it seems to me to be absurd...yeah you could know your personality profile and your favorite colour and your temperament and your opinions....but is this what it's about? If that's what it's about then the oracle of delphi gave self-help advice. For example, that oracle chick must have noticed that Socrates had self-esteem issues, and that's why she had spread the rumour that he is the wisest man in the world. Or maybe she had a thing for him, although I heard that he was fairly ugly.
  17. Man has only to know himself

Middle aged people go through existential crisses because they do not know who they are. The line "I don't even know who I am anymore" occurs pretty often in drama movies. What does it mean? Does it mean that the person forgot his/her personal information, memories and such? Or does it mean that, after a shock, the person had a moment in which she/he stopped projecting a veil of images about self and not self, thus becoming aware of ignorance or, in other words, authentically self-aware.
  18. Man has only to know himself

To know yourself means to understand existence.
  19. What are some beliefs you hold that hold you back?

Yeah I wrote that second post to clarify the mistake I made in the first response...I am actually refering to a more profound view. Saying that someone does not exist is the oposite of saying that (only) the Absolute(the real one) exists. When I said that there is no one to be ill or upset I was refering to the fact that there are no separate entities and that matter is an illusion. Although I may be wrong. I'm sorry if I touched a nerve, I should have been a little more considerate in my comment. I did in fact express myself relatively vaguely on purpose, to elicit thought.
  20. What are some beliefs you hold that hold you back?

Eastern metaphysics do NOT state "you don't exist", that's the materialistic position. It is false to atribute such a phrase to eastern philosophy. Such a phrase is, in fact, nowhere to be found in eastern philosophy and if anyone interprets it that way then they're dead wrong (pun intended).
  21. What are some beliefs you hold that hold you back?

Do you believe believe in quantum physics? Eastern metaphysics isn't simply "You don't exist, get over it", it is much more complex than that. And there is also a theistic aspect, for the simple minded who might go on a rampage of madness if liberated from the fear, see Chinese folk religion for example, or Shinto in Japan, or Hinduism.
  22. Spooky Coincidence !

Neither do scientists. Even today, there is still no consensus on that pile of 2.800.000 rocks down in Egypt. And that statue did not weigh 1.000.000 kg. I would like to see you plan a system to drag 1.000.000 kg rocks using technology that is 4000 years old, oh yeah...and stack them upon each other. For example, what kind of rope did they use?
  23. Free Will/Choice?

Testing different hypotheses is called science. I am sorry to say this but, you Sir, seem to be an Atheist fanatic. But, jokes aside,...in the end it is good that you don't accept it. You need to discover these things for yourself, not be persuaded over the internet by some strange person. It may well be that I'm wrong.
  24. What are some beliefs you hold that hold you back?

In order for there to be a creator there must be a creation which is separate, if there is a creation then the creator is not absolute. Therefore It is not "a creator". It is Creativity it self.(the real one) But yeah, it's great info. I also like Stephen C. Meyer's findings, it's unbelievable that the mainstream ignores him, considering his credentials.
