Actually this is very cool. I tend to do many of those things naturally now and have been incorporating them into my daily life.. what is 'zhi'? Thanks..I'm curious, though, 'how' one could make the organ 'stronger', rather than just avoid hurting it. How can one exercise it?? Yes, very good concepts. But what would be an example of a 'dirrigation' exercise vs. a strengthening gong? I guess I'm not very clear on that.. Thanks!! T

If you could Remake Master Mantak Chia's videos

That's a good way to look at it. If you think about it, even if you are lucky enough to train with a true master, there is only so much they can show you in the beginning. It's up to you to find the rest. T -
I want to see someone who is 80 but looks 30. I really want to believe in these longevity practices but they don't seem to be working for the vast majority of people.. T

I think if you read the posts on here, most of us are about being more aware. Psychedelics are alot of fun, but c'mon, it's total dead end. It's probably the spiritual equivalent of reading comic books. You can talk to god for 8 hours right now, you don't need a drug to crap in your pants and believe you're communing with spirits. Even castaneda was smart enough to drop it in the 60s. I'm not dissing ancient tribal rituals either, so don't even go there. It has it's place. If you want to go down this road, then start building an altar so you can rip people's hearts out to please those same gods too.. T

I keep hearing about these english teaching jobs. Do you have to follow a set curriculum? How do the schools do quality control etc? Why doesn't everyone do it? What's the real deal? Thanks! T

Have you done this or know anyone that has? I have to admit the electric skill is cool, but what does one do with it? What is it a sign of? I'm trying to understand it. I do know that Koichi Tohei is said to have this ability. T

I don't think disapprove is the right word. No one here can 'disapprove' unless they are established masters at his level and have something to show for it. A few us, including myself, get carried away in the conversations. To me it's like talking over a beer in a pub, but the exception here is that everything is recorded for others to nitpick. Can you imagine how annoying that would be in all conversations..where you have to qualify and watch every word you say. Thank goodness for the edit feature... Leave religion out of it. Don't seek converts. I probably have more of his videos than I care to admit to. They are largely videotapes of his workshops, and in that case, not much you can do other than, like Leidee pointed out, improve the sound quality. Not sure if it's worth the time and expense to actually script a video based on the books. And if someone is writing a script and making a video, you can be darn sure it will be full of mistakes. I don't think dressing it up with non practice related props and such is really worth the time and effort. Anyway, my two cents.. T -
Okay, so I never thought much of those patent medicines in chinatown. They are so dirt cheap, I figured they were essentially worthless and said more for placebo effect than anything else. I am also aware of reported contamination with prescription, controlled substances, heavy metals, etc. However, I took this one on the advice of my acupuncturist because my shoulder was just not healing: http://www.plazaq.com/rhtorhpil.html Can you believe the damn thing felt better the next day? And now just one week later, it's improved more than the last 6 months put together. I don't feel any pain and I feel ready to start some light lifting. Also, a significant jump of libido more than the shilijit I had stopped taking (just stopped naturally, no reason, not really crazy about taking any herbal for a long time). Very increased flexibility and overall strength of tendons (possibly related to the yin yoga stuff i've been experimenting with). There is a note out there that this product has some substance in it that is not safe, google it and read for yourself, i'm not convinced. I've seen this item for years and there's never been a peep about it. For me, it's a keeper. This stuff is so good, I'm considering taking it to an herbalist to make up a formula from raw herbs and try that out. T

Well, there's good evidence for both points of view. First, I don't think there is anyone who achieved mastery merely through hard work. It just seems that those who have to work at something, those who need to follow a method miss the mark. The truly great ones seem to just have it. The other point of view (and is backed by scientific studies), and one which I like, is that we all have latent talents for things you probably can't even imagine. By the power of the mind alone, we can actually influence our genetics and bring these latent talents to the forefront. So what does this mean? It's possible that the truly gifted simply BELIEVE they are and those that are working hard never let go of the BELIEF that they just didn't get there yet. It could all boil down to who has the nerve to believe they are actually great at something. It's possible that nothing really holds us back except ourselves. T

I think it's designed to work on those things..if you look at the ingredients, they are mainly kidney/liver tonics and circulation improvers. Good point on the aspirin comment. I can't really say, since I'm still taking it. But, aspirin doesn't make you feel overall stronger. If I didn't know any better, I would think this stuff had testosterone in it, because overall I feel much stronger. T

Thanks for taking the time to write this up. I think a few people from this board attended his workshop this weekend in nyc, so they could comment on the training. T

Got any internet cafe's near you? The woman speaking on the video is also here: www.neelam.org I never heard of her before..Cam thanks for the link, I really enjoyed listening to her and browsing through the other ones.. Yoda, yeah, this internet satsang is very cool. There was another clip where one of the audience was struggling with the idea of presence..'Is your definition of presence the same as..' almost an exact interaction that Eckhart Tolle humorously talked about in his CD..this struggle with thoughts and ideas about presence..she handled the situation very well..very inspiring.. The air quality here is really not that bad, it's alot worse in most cities. You'll have a great time here! T

Nice..the world is constantly teaching us. In the west we have the apple falling on the head of newton, in the east buddha considers a guitar string (or something like that)..we don't often hear about how someone explained something and then someone got it. I was talking with a friend the other day about herbs and chi gung and I remarked that I intellectually understand the value of preservation methods and herbs but if you *look around* it just doesn't seem to be helping most people. Whenever something is systemized and 'taught' it's ruined. So, something special happens, and then we try to continually recreate it, systemize it, teach it..but it's just not there-seems to be beyond the grasp. All the yapping and BSing in the universe can't bring it back or summon it. So we need to watch, listen and find our own way. T

The new book has significant editing to make it much clearer and easier to follow. I actually think it's a great book now and belongs on the shelf. Lots of good stuff in there. The other one was very difficult to follow, this one has a great editing job. T

thanks! i didn't realize there was so much info in there! wow.. T

years ago i was raving about malic acid and magnesium, it seemed to miraculously cure any muscle pain and increased my flexibility considerably...but alas, like everything else, it stopped working after awhile... T

do you mind giving me the 'intuflow for dummies' short explanation of what it is? thanks, T

Even with teachers one should be careful. Ideally the instructor is someone who does it regulary and understands it. I would also expect to see some results such as extraordinary health and youthful vitality. Should be able to physically demonstrate the effects of the practice. Otherwise, why bother with it. It's pretty silly overall then. I'll check out the ppl spyrelx mentioned. I'm only bothering with it because I see the potential in this practice from a physical conditioning point of view. But I want to work with someone who does it, not someone who's going to recite instructions from memory cause that's the same problem as the book problem. T

Hopefully you're under medical care..what sort of issues are you experiencing? How do you know it's your liver? T

What is unsafe about it and i'll check the new book. For me, as i've indicated in other posts, i tend not to practice something from a book. There are too many mistakes in both the whole writing/publishing process and then in actually understanding what is written down. I like the book for the fascia and bodywork discussions. I want to get instruction in this stuff, any ideas in NYC? Thanks, T
