Re: ----- "You are referring to man made things." ----- Applies to anything. A day. A storm. All phenomena that begin, will end. If the universe is a thing, it began. If the universe is nothing, then it is beginningless and endless. - VonKrankenhaus
-
Re: ----- "The only thing that can be said to end is the individual life for a living entity." ----- Did last Monday begin? Did last Monday then end? Did you ever see a movie that began? It came to an end, then everyone left the theater.. Every thing is changing. All beginnings end. If you say Monday was part of a continuum, did the continuum begin? Of course. And it will end. But what never began will never end. -VonKrankenhaus

If the universe exists, it began. Whatever has a beginning, has an end. This is what we may call the "manifested universe". If it manifested, it will un-manifest. But there is what we could call the "infinite universe". If it is infinite, it has no beginning, and thus no end. Since it is not defined, it will not un-define. Materialist science studies what is manifested. It is not a system designed to find the beginningless beginning. Like the human mind is. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "Gravity is the observation of the objects." ----- This seems a ridiculous assertion. Are there sentences that read "the force of the observation of the objects" anywhere? - in place of "gravity" like saying - "the force of gravity"? They say thing like "Jupiter's gravity". Which is gravity, but means specifically "the" gravity associated with Jupiter. But when we say "gravity attracts" - we do not mean the gravity of Jupiter. Western science looks at the gravity associated with things. Because western science only sees things. But is very poor at seeing what causes things. Including "gravity". Including "consciousness". So in the west, Iching is also not understood. YinYang is not understood. 5 phases is not understood. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "Right, the laws of nature are not things in themselves, they pertain to the nature of specific objects." ----- Consider YinYang. When we say "yin attracts yang, and yang attracts yin". This is not about any specific object. Is "gravity" about any specific object? - or does "gravity" have effects that go beyond any specific object? -VonKrankenhaus

You are. You are a condensation of Infinity. Plasma and pre-atomic matter. Atomic elements. Chemical compounds. When Earth atmosphere was so hazy that only the Sun was visible, we were single cell microbes. As atmosphere cleared, more stars visible - more complex arrangements. These became plants, the vegetal. Then animal. Then human form of animal. Human is the first animal able to assume some control of its own evolution. Process of our appearance is one of contraction. Then, we are expanding back, covering all of creation. -VonKrankenhaus

I have experience with this "telepathy". Personally, I do not hear sounds or see visions as telepathy. I simply "know". Vast majority of information does not seem to be english or any language. Although many or most people today are thinking in language. It's not that things or real events are made of language, so much as that people are attempting to translate their actual experiences into language for themselves, as they have been trained. -VonKrankenhaus

Here are some introductory links: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mercola/fluoride_b_2479833.html http://fluoridealert.org/studies/brain01/ http://www.nmji.in/archives/Volume-12/issue-3/editorials-2.pdf http://fluoridealert.org/issues/fluorosis/ Also: 84% of all adults have at least one or more fillings Each adult has an average of 7 fillings 31% of adults have tooth decay 66% have visible plaque 29% suffer from regular dental pain From: http://www.nationalsmilemonth.org/facts-figures/ Of course, there is MUCH more online. I just do some quick links here to get someone started looking. -VonKrankenhaus

Maybe the great are not that great. How would we know from today's perspective? Fluoride has been found to lower IQ by about 4-8 points. Which is a good portion of the average person's mental capability. Maybe the great are humorists? Or - maybe they can't remember what that missing 4-8 IQ points were used for? -VonKrankenhaus

Fluoride is a neurotoxin. It has almost zero effect on teeth. Except at higher levels it can cause fluorosis, which is epidemic in fluoridated water areas. A recent study from Harvard found that fluoride reduces IQ. Because that's really why it's in municipal water. The dental stuff is just fluff for the citizens to ponder if they can. There are far more cavities, and far more dentists, everywhere water is fluoridated. And lots of idiots. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "How does one become child-like?" ----- It's super-easy. First, get two drunk people - one male, one female. Expose them to media. During the gestation, form inside a mother who is watching TV. She will build you to match hormonal experiences she is having with fictions. Preparing you to accept a fictional world. Be sure to cut umbilical cord immediately - this causes brain lesions and lifelong immune problems. Make sure they wash you - to erase your mother's smell and recognition. Be sure to get circumcised - because it's important that you be warped by massive unexplained trauma. Get in "day care" - so authorities representing corporations have their way with you. In other time you have, sit in front of a TV or "device" for programming. Then get in school for 14-16 years of heavy brainwashing. That's just some of what goes into modern "child-like". Millions upon millions are doing it. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "I've no idea what that means. It sounds like flapping lips and chest puffing to me and I treat it as such." ----- It's truth. Truth leads to What Is. That is, beyond your ideas. -VonKrankenhaus

Krishnamurti's teaching about the "awakening of intelligence"
vonkrankenhaus replied to roger's topic in General Discussion
It's a matter of associative thinking vs perception. People are taught to make associations. And not so much to perceive. This is the beginning of the kind of uniformity required by civilization. It is the kind of "seeing" required - making associations in thought. Direct sustained perception is virtue, devotion. Making associations is the robot. We can program machines, or people, to do this. -VonKrankenhaus -
Re: ----- "This is true, it's our methods that differ. I don't do wishing." ----- If you met me. You would shit your pants. After thinking that. And then seeing the reality. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "When we look at the history of mankind we see violence - there is no questioning that fact." ----- That's his-story, and only the things that made it into his story. It's also not the history of mankind that we have access to. It's the history of civilizations. Our grasp of the past and human evolution is about like "Planet of the Apes" movie. It is a manufactured history - the story he tells you. Check out "his story" about the Gulf of Tonkin, 9/11, Martin Luther King's death - all bogus, just fictions. Taught in schools. Compare depictions of war or violence at Lascaux caves vs ancient Egypt or HBO. Find me a cave painting or other depiction that predates the last Ice Age and shows a "war". -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "That's why I asked if you thought this situation was inevitable ?" ----- It is not inevitable. But it is predictable, and was predicted many times. You yourself can turn it around, end it. Please do that. There are better things we all could be doing. I'm doing them right now. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "We are 'domesticated' by choice and civilisation does not need to be controlling. War is only necessary as defence against viable threats or direct attack." ----- I have a bridge I am selling. -VonKrankenhaus
-
Re: ----- "I'm not sure quite where you are going ?" ----- That appears to be correct. -VonKrankenhaus
-
Re: ----- "Isn't it interesting that the more civilized we become the more wars we have?" ----- Civilization is the domestication and control of humanity. And a major part of that is war. War to establish it, and war to maintain it. -VonKrankenhaus

Theories and practices dealing with Yin and Yan energies in Chi-
vonkrankenhaus replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
Re: ----- "From mopai's perspective we extract both yin and yang energy from the environment and use them to construct a spirit in exactly the same way you would grow a baby, and watch it develop into an adult. From mopai's perspective almost 100% of all humans on earth die with a dead spirit, stillborn if you will." ----- This is a very strange claim. How can you "extract" "yin and yang energy" from the environment? Is that actually "the same way you would grow a baby"? Have any of these people grown any babies? And they "construct" a "spirit"? I find all of this a very interesting take on things. Incredible, actually. Can anyone explain it a bit more? -VonKrankenhaus -
"Love" is "gravity" - which is YinYang. Modern idea "love" is an acquired concept. In terms of original question about human nature - is it violent? Look at oldest "artwork" available. Do we see "war" and "murder" of human beings depicted? 30,000 years ago - did humans make cave paintings of big wars? There is not one. Then look at "art" of more recent "civilizations". Ancient Egypt - pictures of wars? Yes. Today in the media, movies, TV - wall-to-wall violence, murder, and war. So we have gone from ZERO images of war to nearly ALL images of war. And all of our programming and education is saying "we" are inherently violent and competitive. As an excuse for what has been done to people. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "We are certainly the apex predator on this planet and no other animal or object is capable of manipulating the environment as man does in order to improve his survival and happiness." ----- That is the modern view disseminated by corporations to worker/consumers. Of whom over 50% are clinically obese, 1 in 5 is autistic, over half are diabetic, 70% of them are on prescription medication, about half will get or have some form of cancer, and over half of all their marriages collapse or fail, etc, etc. Their "survival and happiness" is actually the worst ever recorded for human beings living outside of natural disasters, floods, or outright war, etc. ----- "From an individual perspective we must choose to place our life above the life of every other life, that's a necessity regardless of whether our lives are above, or below the value of any other kind of thing." ----- Yeah - that's the kind of lie people are trained to believe now. It isn't doing them any good. -VonKrankenhaus
-
Re: ----- "Well the thing i don't grasp about the concept of the Chi.. is what chi is?" ----- Qi is the relative potential of YinYang at any given point on any spectrum of energy or matter. "Energy" results from polarity. "Matter" is condensed "energy". -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "Reason is a faculty which gives mans mind wings to fly, propellers to swim and wheels to out perform any other animal on the planet. We can build super computers, fit artificial limbs and organs, eventually terraform a planet, turn darkness to light, desert to fertile oasis, we can travel to new planets, or make the tiny its robots which will conquer diseases." ----- Is it "reason" - or is it "weakness"? All of the materials and methods necessary to build a "computer" have always been available. 400,000, 30,000, 6000 yrs ago, they were available. But nobody went in that direction until very recently. For most of evolution "technology" was not so developed. Most of these things are like the technology of "crutches". Do crutches help humans to walk? Do wheelchairs? What happens to our walking if we always use a wheelchair? We become "modern"? -VonKrankenhaus
