  1. TCM view on colostrum?

Oh - Okay. I've only had the human kind, and even that, a very long time ago, briefly. And what would you do with the goat/sheep/bovine colostrum? -VonKrankenhaus
  2. TCM view on colostrum?

Human colostrum? What is the purpose in getting this? -VonKrankenhaus
  3. Vegan

Re: ----- "The "Natural Order" is corrupted in modern human society." ----- I believe this is a mistaken idea. But I do agree with the other ideas about B12 and sunshine, etc. Natural Order remains untouched (if not natural things), and "modern human society" is an imaginary construct that requires many years of training and/or experience to even see. Tao is incorruptable by human ideas and concepts. So it is an imaginary dichotomy, between some human concepts and the way things really happen. This is like making a choice about what we study - do we study newsfeeds and TV commercials to find out what corporations say is "good"? Or do we study reality to see what is "real"? Whichever we spent our time on, that's what we know best. -VonKrankenhaus
  4. Vegan

Re: ----- "If you would like great examples of Vegans you can just look at many of the beautiful girls coming out of a Yoga class." ----- These people have been "vegan" for a few months or years. Check back with them in 20, 30, 40 years, after they have had children and raised the children. Check back with them after there are decades of living, good observation, and routine blood tests. They could take supplement products to compensate for their idea of veganism - b12, "vitamin" D, etc. A lifetime of supplements? What is needed is an understanding of Natural Order. We need to know what that is. Isn't this why we study Taoism? Or, are we merely searching for a more acceptable, stylish, or sentimental abstraction from it? -VonKrankenhaus
  5. neidan for dummies?

"Neidan for Dummies"? It may be that ALL books on the subject are essentially that. Even the whole practice, in the modern era, could likely be called that. After over 45 years studying and practicing qigong & neigong, I have just only this year begun reading all of these books that have been published, and looking at all the various retreats and workshops people that have sprung up in that time. And even a forum like this one - I never saw something like this, and now I am having fun seeing all of these posts and peoples interested in the subject. Seems good to just read everything and see as much as possible. -VonKrankenhaus
  6. The Body is a Giant Plant

Human being is an "animal" - complimentary opposite to plants. The plant root is in the Earth and branches going upward to Heaven. In the human being, the root is in Heaven and branches going downward to Earth. -VonKrankenhaus
  7. Ketchari Mudra

Re: ----- ",,, so pretty much the Ketchari mudras effect is greatly diminished without proper guidance and instruction on how to use it?" ----- Here is one tidbit about this: This "Ketchari mudras effect" is generally involved in how we extract energy from foods - as we chew food, moving the opposing forces in our body by contracting the uppr and lower jaws together, we are constantly running the tongue up and touching the roof of the mouth. This is transferring energy and information from the torn apart food upwards to the mid-brain. This information is used to incite enzyme and hormonal responses which will organize the distribution and processing of this energy - the food. This energy is making its way downwards, and excess will be processed as sexual activity/expressions. Many such practices are connecting with very basic functions involved with life energy, but this is often overlooked as people are looking for the fictions and guesses about them. Not many people teaching full understanding of any of it. -VonKrankenhaus
  8. Seminal retention, PC muscle - the dangers

Re: ----- "About a month ago I was masturbating and upon orgasm I flexed as hard as I could. About 5-10 seconds into the experience it was like something "popped" in my belly. It felt like all hole opened with an inwards suction in my belly. Like something got sucked in. There was no pain, just this strange feeling." ----- Seems like "blowback" - where the tension was enough to back-up the flow into the bladder. This will make your urinary/reproduction system shaky for a while, now preferring only outgoing expression, so to say. Either that, or perhaps something may have stressed, torn, or herniated. Might be good to consult an experienced mentor or teacher and review your motivation for doing this and what is actually involved in the subject area of what you are trying to accomplish. -VonKrankenhaus
  9. Ketchari Mudra

Position of the tongue is modulating circulation from governing vessel to conception vessel. The further back, the closer to the plane of the downward-moving energy that formed the uvula in gestation. There are many aspect to this - the teeth, body position, etc - and this part with considering the tongue posture is not as important as what someone may do in preparation for this to actually achieve something. -VonKrankenhaus
  10. Qiqong practice and storms / thunderstorms ?

Re: ----- "And what about doing qiqong with wind ?" ----- That must be happening all the time in those expensive workshops and retreats that people are having these days. -VonKrankenhaus
  11. Qiqong practice and storms / thunderstorms ?

Re: ----- "Wan Huang Lo, a qigong practitioner, ate some gou rou at dinner,,," ----- This is all fine, and entertaining, etc. But I feel that we are missing something about this. Lightning is a buildup of strong potential that suddenly releases in the atmosphere between the ground and the sky. Television and radio - crude devices compared to living beings - show big and immediate effect from lightning. Do anyone ever go outside during this and watch insects and other animals? Think about the electromagnetic sensing and functioning of the human body as relate to cell growth and cell-cell communication, and also reception and reaction to external energetic influences, like we do with geolocation, etc. Most people do feel "invigorated" by lightning storm - but this may be a response more like feeling invigorated by a minor slap in the face, like a "tensing reaction" to the temporary disruption in the environment. The lightning disturbance initiates a slight "defense" situation that feels "invigorating" when we do it. But I'm writing about something more "subtle". It may be that people today eating much meat, dairy, and chemicals are too packed-up and not sensitive to qi so much - I don't really know them to say. It makes a good study - to go out in storms like this and feel what is really happening in environment and to us. -VonKrankenhaus
  12. Tendon strengthening

Re: ----- "Have you ever practiced the I Chin Ching? --> https://en.wikipedia...iki/Yijin_Jing " ----- That is one of the texts we are discussing without discussing. The other is "marrow/brain washing". These are where many exercises have been develop from - 8 pieces of brocade, etc, etc. Tid Sin is not literally derived from just these, but almost all "Iron Shirt" trainings use principles from them in some way. And there are different levels of understanding of these, different levels of detail - but one basic principle is developing "local" qi by a kind of dynamic tension, concentrating and releasing it. -VonKrankenhaus
  13. Tendon strengthening

Ooops - the video link didn't happen in my post. Here is the link to one person's rendition of Tid Sin Kuen: And here is another different way of doing it, which I find very entertaining and good: There are several others of varying quality. Perhaps the best versions would be Lam Cho or his sons doing this, but I am not aware of a link to anything like that right now. -VonKrankenhaus
  14. What is the meaning of Siddhis or 'special powers'?

Re: ----- "What do we all think? Have any of you experienced them for yourself, or have you seen extraordinary things demonstrated by others?" ----- I have much experience with these things, and yes, I have seen interesting things. They are not so much applicable to the fake industrialized society, which has another sort of outcome altogether as its goals. So there will be a "culture clash", and many comics books will come to mind, or ideas about how to "leverage" this into some sort of profit advantage over others, etc. I agree, and am intrigued, by the idea that if people are not seeing these things, they are missing clues about reality. But right now, at the point of thinking about these things, people are only "culturally" prepared to make unnecessary or even false associations or conclusions about the "meaning". I have always avoided this discussion, even though as a youth I did work for some time with my skills at "psychic" functioning, showing future for people, finding lost people/objects, and so forth. I stopped doing that after a while. People actually have strict ideas about what I was doing, that I could not really be contained by. It actually became "boring", like greeting a procession of similarly configured robots. Since that time, I have been content to just be myself and do things in the way I can, and not worrying about who understands what. -VonKrankenhaus

  16. Tendon strengthening

Here is one guy doing his rendition of Tid Sin Kuen, which is a muscle/tendon/marrow/organs exercise set somewhat based on the principles in DaMo's classic & 8 pieces of brocade, etc. Notice the use of sounds, and of dynamic tension, as this is an exercise that uses locally-generated qi as well as grand circulation qi - there are different levels of doing this one, and not all appear in youtube videos yet. -VonKrankenhaus
  17. Anyone knows about 'shi sue kong'

These are basic gongfu trainings. One book among many is Yang Jwing Ming book "Muscle/Tendon & Marrow/Brain Washing Chi Kung", which refers to Chinese texts he translates also. Mantak Chia have a book also - "Bone Marrow Nei Kung". These are easy available sources of info on this, but they are just introductory compared to what one may learn from a knowledgeable teacher. -VonKrankenhaus
  18. Qiqong practice and storms / thunderstorms ?

We are existing in between Heaven and Earth. In qigong, we mediate these energy as part of this exchange. Lightning is a strong discharge energy between Heaven and Earth. In qigong, we are practicing with the normal flow of things. Lightning is very strong and very sudden discharge. Sex activity is a good example, because sex is naturally occurring qigong. Conception relies on orderly transfer between Heaven and Earth energies as going through and in our body. Strong discharge of lightning may interfere with normal conception energetics - same way with individual practicing qigong posture exercises. In lightning storm, normal energetics between Heaven and Earth develop into strong accumulation and sudden discharge of energy, and this is disruptive to delicate energetic practices and functions. Even TV or radio equipment shows chaos, and these are also recieving/transferring energy like person doing qigong. -VonKrankenhaus
  19. Tendon strengthening

Re: ----- "How exactly do you target & strengthen the tendons, and not muscle bellies?" ----- With mallets, pestles, and other equipment. There are techniques of striking and massaging. Also, most common chinese martial art style have tendon/marrow practice exercises. One common one is Tid Sin Kuen, which is part of Hung style iron shirt training. These are not techniques for sick bones/tendons, per se. Dit Da doctors know a lot about healing bad tendons, and how to reduce tendon injuries, etc. American-style fibromylagia issues may be best prevented by careful diet, minimizing nightshade vegetables, etc. -VonKrankenhaus
  20. Sexual function is the discharge of excess. Starvation ends sexual desire and function. People today have excess sexual desires because they have been taught to eat the foods designed to produce this effect. It produced plenty of abstract worker/drones which were set to the work of vanquishing nature. Good consumers have desires beyond all reasonable proportion. It is also easier to manipulate and profit from imbalanced people. -VonKrankenhaus
  21. Moving the body with chi

All moving of the body is movement "with" qi. The body itself is condensed qi. The movement of qi is what we call life. -VonKrankenhaus

  23. Is this pure yang?

Re: ----- "Also, you can have a one sided coin. It merely has to exist in two-dimensional space rather than three-dimensional space." ----- I cannot actually have this. I think maybe no coins have been made or seen in "two-dimensional space". All of the coins I currently have here do have two sides. Where is "two-dimensional space"? -VonKrankenhaus
  24. Vegan

There is no tradition of pure veganism in northern areas such as above 40 degrees latitude. This simply means that living with the natural environment, groups or masses of people were not able to take this up at that time. Modern food processing and shipping is available now, but not that long ago in winter there was no banana at the supermarket. There were shoots under the snow, pickled and salted storage, and animals, birds, seals, fish. The lush growth of summer and autumn were eaten by animals and, essentially, "stored" as them in the environment. I have lived in a forest in the North, a few of them, and also lived outdoors on the sea coast, and in winter, when you look around you, there is very little of what a modern "vegan" is eating in their condo this afternoon. I find that many of the statements people make about what humans should eat are abstract, and not really based on any kind of accurate assessment or experience of the real environment and our context within it. And most of what modern vegans are eating is still coming out of the modern food industry - foods shipped from other climates, artificially coddled agriculture - these foods are commercial products and not part of a normal human experience of any real environment on Earth. I do appreciate that people have started to wake up about this a little in the past 30 years, and that "better" food is becoming more available. But all of that is actually still very much an abstraction from normal living in real environment - but let's hope it is an abstraction seeking to eventually regain humble unity with Nature. A book I can recommend along these lines is "The Road Back to Nature" by Masanobu Fukuoka. -VonKrankenhaus
  25. Vegan

Human beings are omnivorous. Right now, somewhere, living human people are eating plastic, radioactive particles, toxic metals, genetically deranged cells, microwaves, and so forth. The range of possible foods of the human being is extending from the densest minerals at the center of the planet to cosmic rays, as we are living in the middle of this range. Our teeth are a good indicator of what we have eaten as we have evolved, and would show what we are most used to eating from our environment. The vast majority of our teeth are suited for vegetal foods - fruits, plants, seeds, etc. We have some flesh-tearing incisor teeth. We have eaten animals for a long period of our evolution, mostly during ice ages. The length of our digestive tract also shows what food we evolved with. Meat-eating animals have short digestive tracts and powerful digestive enzymes and saliva. Human being has a rather long digestive tract - much longer that that of a meat-eating dog, for example. Long digestive tract is for plant-based foods. Short one is for animal meat. But total plant-eaters like cows have a very long digestive tract and additional organs for dealing with plant fiber. In the ice ages, it was noted that animals can eat scrubby hard vegetation and by eating these animals, the human can get these tough plants "second hand". It is a survival tactic from a time when the environment was very different from that of today. If we go to a european "deli", we can see ice age technology still being used - cheese wheels, smoked meats hanging up - all of this is from the recent ice ages. Abstractly compensating for what is no longer there, people have suffered from maladaption to the current earth climate on heavy meat diets, and they disappear from earth. There are such historical facts and ideas, and there is an order to nature, and observation and understanding of these is necessary for us to intelligently judge what food is and what it is not. -VonKrankenhaus
