why I think Taoism is a limited understanding of Life . . .
vonkrankenhaus replied to Lataif's topic in General Discussion
Re: ----- "why do some people like the experience of Frank Sinatra while others like the experience of the Sex Pistols (?) What is it about the respective experiences that they like (?)" ----- Yes - even a con job, or even somnabulism, can be examined very well via taoist thinking, yinyang thinking, etc. -VonKrankenhaus -
Re: ----- "I have yet to hear of any evidence of telepathy in any neuro study." ----- The book Distant Mental Influence, by William Broad describes several experiments. There are many other sources. Is there anything that would make a "neuro study" somehow authoritative? "Neurology" doesn't even understand what consciousness is, where it is, or why it happens. -VonKrankenhaus

What does it mean to be transgender?
vonkrankenhaus replied to DreamBliss's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Re: ----- "A transgender person's brain didn't set the right 'I am this gender' setting while developing. So they may be physically male but see themselves as female, or vice versa. Their brain literally expects their body to be the other gender and is constantly saying, 'hey, that bit isn't right...' - imagine waking up the other gender, that's what it's like for them. It's neurological." ----- Gender has a lot to do with hormonal environment in the womb at specific moments during development. Food, consumer products, and the environment abound in hormone-disrupting chemicals, and high levels of these chemicals are seen in pregnant women and breast milk all over the world. These same chemicals appearing in "pollution" are causing gender to be changed in wild animals - wrong sex organs, no sex organs, etc. -VonKrankenhaus -
Re: ----- "Now, the Chinese have a plan to open a big dairy somewhere nearby to ship fresh milk to China (they are convincing the Chinese it should be part of their diet now ) ." ----- As the Chinese take up consuming "dairy", the rates of lung and breast cancer will skyrocket there. Previously, despite a high smoking rate, the incidence of these cancers was relatively low. Countries where "dairy" consumption is high usually have high rates of these cancers, and also of osteoporosis. -VonKrankenhaus

Questions about the six healing sounds.
vonkrankenhaus replied to Oneironaut's topic in Daoist Discussion
It is possible to do accurate organ diagnosis by listening to everyday speech. 6 healing sounds is an attempt at balancing organs "pressure" (among other things) by specific expression. There are other ways of using sounds to fortify and tonify organs rather than adjusting expression. Also - think about what is being expressed - it is what has been taken in. It is possible to use the position (time) of before and during intake, rather than just after, to adjust organ functions/interactions. When this adjustment are done after, this is called "healing" because the before created imbalance. Basic principles are more important than a specific version of a practice, but not so useful for consumer mindset. Japanese way of using sound is called Kotodama, and is also very interesting. This is, of course, coming from very ancient sources, and Japanese studies are one more recent way. Also - Cymatics is very interesting to study in relation to sound and what sound is doing. -VonKrankenhaus -
Out teeth and digestive tract show how much meat we ate during evolution, and how much would be in proportion in this world. We have teeth showing that we initially ate much fruit, then some vegetable type plants, then meat (Ice Ages), then nuts and seeds. This is a tale of expansion/contraction that is shown in the convolutions in our brains and intestines. Human has few meat tearing teeth and a long intestinal tract. Dog has big meat tearing teeth and a short digestive tract. Human eating like dog is something like going backwards into another form of life - impossible to maintain as human being. This development also corresponds with the Galactic Cycle or "Great Year". Human beings formed in Galactic Autumn as the climate cooled and plants contracted from giant ferns and such at time of dinosaurs, to big fruit, then nuts, and finally the small seeds of wild grasses. This is alternating development wherein animal is arising from vegetal. The vegetal realm is creating the animal realm. What is it that human being is evolving into? There are many more such basic distinctions to understand in exploring why and how we eat, and what "meat" is to us in that. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "There is no need for any special diet, although certain foods and herbs can help to build the body's resources. Eat and drink enough to meet your needs, and eat healthy food." ----- One thing to discover is that just about everyone is now on a very "special diet", which has never been followed by human beings before the modern era. Not one person was eating like people do today when most of the classic cultivation & meditation techniques were developed. Food is what mothers are making babies out of as they gestate, which is making how the baby will live and think as a human after it is born. And this human life is the gestation period of our spiritual existence. People who advise "eat anything" are following advice that is not applicable to present time. This is only good advice when in the same situation as the one who first said it, and this advice comes from way before industrialized agriculture, commercial food manufacturing, and supermarkets. Modern results of living this way and training old way are not the same as old results. Modern nutritional science is interesting, but very incomplete, and thus of limited use in understanding qi cultivation - partly because it doesn't account for qi to even exist. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "Very sorry. I'm not sure what happened there but it was probably a technical snafu on my part. I'll see if I can rectify it somehow." ----- Thanks, and I never thought it was malicious. If my post could be replaced, that would be good, but if not, OK. It's the 2nd time this has happened, where a post of mine was deleted accidentally, and that is okay too. I am enjoying this thread because it has much to do with my own research and training over several decades. I find the way my postings to be recieved also to be very interesting. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "Well, the two really "big names" who I've met are Lam Kam Chuen and Yang Jwing-Ming, both pushing seventy and both with bodies that seem fourty years younger." ----- OK. If Yang Jwing Ming looks 30-ish to you, you must be in a developed country looking at their citizens. If this difference between someone who has been doing exercises for decades and a couch potato on the street looks like something significant, then what I am writing in this thread has little meaning. Yes - most qigong and gongfu masters are not vegetarians. My questions were - are they aging, getting sick, and how are they dying. I think that to understand my perspective, people might need familiarity with visual diagnosis. That, and maybe a few more years looking at these guys. -VonKrankenhaus

Well, the two really "big names" who I've met are Lam Kam Chuen and Yang Jwing-Ming, both pushing seventy and both with bodies that seem fourty years younger. Neither of them are vegetarians. I'll be eating a big t-bone steak with Sifu Lam in a few weeks, in fact. The "Godfather" of the German Qigong Society Prof. Cong Yong-Chun, is much older and although I've not had the pleasure of meeting him directly I know from many sources that he radiates youth and vitality in the way only this kind of person can. I've attended workshops with other Chinese masters and none of them have ever been vegetarians. ** NOTE: I (VonKrankenhaus) did not make this post, and another I did make has disappeared. I was able to edit this one despite not making it. Does anyone know what happened here?**

Jing is Jing and Qi is Qi. If we say jing is related to DNA and inherited and acquired constitution, then food is very important. All animal are made of and by plants, the vegetal. And we are transforming plant to animal in our digestion. Beef animal (cow) is taking vegetal and making a cow. Eating this, we must now deconstruct cow with our digestion, and according to our original jing, construct ourselves with the results. Which is harder - to directly make vegetal directly into us, or to make vegetal appearing as cow into us? Cow qi still wants to be cow, still remembers. Our digestion tries to make it neutral again so as to be re-assimilated into human being. Some parts will never forget. The weaker we are, the less effective we are at this conversion. The more excess of it we take, the less effective we can do this conversion. When we eat, tongue repeatedly touches roof of mouth transferring qi broken out of chewing food, and this qi goes directly into small circulation, influencing and becoming our structure and function. This qi is cow qi made, accumulated, from vegetal by cow, Further qi transfer is happening at various stages of digestive functions. Parts that stay cow and refuse to undergo human digestion are dealt with by immune system, causing fevers and many small sicknesses. What we cannot transform to human is set aside as mucus, deposits, cysts. It is localized by body like we do on trash removal day, setting in one more remote place and hoping it go away later. Someone or something sweep it out, or it burn up in a fever, etc. If doing physical exercise during this, it is like packing these deposits in body into stubborn masses, and eventually, tumors. We take some "medicine" to make fever go down, and deposits just stay and rot. This happens dozens of times, ongoing. None of this is good qi cultivation. It is eating and living out of order from nature. -VonKrankenhaus

I would urge you to caution about that plan. Better to review your vegetarian approach during that past year and find out what has caused this reasoning. Repeated meat/egg consumption will clog the central channel and produce blockages in your small circulation - and your liver, kidneys, etc. This is one of several things that has made it very hard for americans and europeans to gain progress in qigong in the past (and present) - hardness, rigidity, excess protein, fat deposits, mucus, etc. Central channel flow, liver, and kidneys are important to generating qi flow in the whole body, and burdening them with big amounts of animal fats and making your system break down animals for qi can become actually more of an obstacle than a deficient vegetarian approach can be. It would be worth the time spent doing more research into this before attempting meat/egg routine you describe. -VonKrankenhaus

References to flashing lights, ufos, etc in Taoism?
vonkrankenhaus replied to Source's topic in Daoist Discussion
I can say there are related things mentioned in ancient Japanese documents like the Kojiki and the Takeuchi documents. Not so much "flashing lights", but about beings from other worlds shaping humanity, etc. -VonKrankenhaus -

Re: ----- "To tie this into yin yang theory would be great and is something I am interested in. Daoism is a science based on observation of nature. ,,, If this book is marketed towards westerners, who have been brought up in a heavily science-ified culture, creating the correlations between ancient and modern wisdoms is a good thing, because it will get them hooked into wanting more." ----- It occurs to me that I have spent the past 35-40 years doing this research. My research has not been in search of a popular "diet" type of idea, but to find the missing parts of qigong and yoga that explains why most of these practices going so slow in this modern time. Starting from 70s I see martial arts and qigong and yoga people, masters, are not really developing beyond a certain point, and I see that the issue is the polarity/complimentary between physical and spiritual "structure" - I see them making themselves (by "ordinary" eating & lifestyle) opposite of their training and diminishing from this. People are masters of "diabetic qigong", or "cancerous yoga" and many more subtle things like this too. No amount of waving arms or sitting pretzel will remake this into good compared to just not making it first. I see masters spending many years qigong, but much more years of making themselves disorganized with illogical basic eating and living. Actually, they become impaired by fairly minor things, accumulated. This shows me that this whole area is missing, and in last 30 years I see some awareness of this, but nobody recovering old and original practices and applying well. At end of 70s I began experimenting with this and studying all related ideas, and especially in the last 25 years I am finding what I began looking for, and see very important results. But my study is not pointed to produce popular dieting books, but finding very advanced missing parts of qigong and yoga and see if application removes many modern problems in these practices. What I find has almost nothing at all to do with modern goals and ideas, and so I feel maybe not appealing to or understandable in context of most goals in modern fake culture. But - could solve most of their issues as well. I just continue to refine this, teaching in very small way, not public, in context of physical/spiritual developing maturity and freedom. Happy to discuss with anyone, but right now not applying this to reach public with diet plan. General trend right now in most modern diet, most "hipster", is good compared to past 50 years, but still lacking fundamental understanding. Even so, people now looking at plant-based eating, no GMO, organic - all this is a good sign going forward. -VonKrankenhaus -

Re: ----- "I have my ears gaged, but the area is the ear lobe, which didn't show up as being anything on the maps of the acupuncture points on the ear....if there are no points here, can it affect anything?" ----- This being "gaged" - this is putting really big ear ring in really big hole in ear? I have only just recently see this close up, as I am now teaching someone with this sort of thing. From initial observation I have some small ideas, but I will wait until I have a complete observation - then I will look at others I see to confirm what is happening only from this ear thing and not some other common thing being done by similar "demographic", etc. So, I am looking. I will return to this thread with observation. -VonKrankenhaus -

Re: ----- "If metal in the skin does effect chi disruption, it seems that a high level qigong master should know...does anyone know any?" ----- I have only been doing qigong for about 45 years, but I can state that wearing metal in the skin does have effect on qi flow. And depending on what one is trying to do, they might want to remove those before doing some things involving healing, and also qi projection. I have seen people with body modifications, both via surgey and also fashion, develop qi stagnations downflow of the scar or object - organ stagnation, cysts, etc. -VonKrankenhaus -
One time I am walking home on the road, and it is raining hard. I stop under an awning of building and 7 yr old & 5 yr old are there staying out of the rain. 7 yr old finally says we don't have to walk in the rain anymore, and she will use her mind to change this rain. She describes what will happen - clouds will part, sky will become lighter, and clouds will blow away to East direction. She steps out into rain, looks up, and over the next 3 minutes, what she says happens exactly. Rain stops, and people go out from awning and walk home dry. Soon as I got home, maybe 10-15 mins later, I close front door and look outside to see rain start again just like before. I have seen many incidents like this. -VonKrankenhaus
-
i couldn't - how do we know that during that time there wasn't an unusual weather pattern that throws the data off? How do we know if that one "rain dancer" is even an effective one? You don't say, but they could be the only one left on island after 20 years of bad predictions and no effect! So the hypothetical situation stopped me personal from voting - but the topic is an excellent one, and I do see that, dancing or no dancing, human beings do have relationship with weather and all phenomena like this. I have seen it happen in multiple situations involving different people and weather dramatically changing, etc. -VonKrankenhaus

You might want to take a look at "The Book of Macrobiotics" by Michio Kushi, or any book by George Ohsawa. -VonKrankenhaus -
The question seems hypothetical, and a scenario with too many variables - but if it is really a question of whether or not "rain dancing" works, or if human being can be so with reality that they are knowing weather (or anything) in advance and influencing weather (or anything) while it happens, then yes - I have extensive experience and observation of this, and so must many many others. -VonKrankenhaus

Re: ----- "but I've always thought that it was done for reasons of cleanliness." ----- This has often been claimed, but if you research this in depth I am confident you will see that there is no medical reason for it. There is an interesting chapter about circumcision in Carlo Suares' "The Cipher of Genesis" explaining another common idea, and I feel that even this is just a concocted explaination which, like the "cleanliness" claim, is not accurate. -VonKrankenhaus -
The Tao of Weight Loss - ThreadBook
vonkrankenhaus replied to MooNiNite's topic in General Discussion
Is this meaning a "spiritual" way to losing weight - or a way to lose "spiritual weight"? Physical weight issue has been "psychologized" when it really isn't, as innersoundqigong is showing with the HFCS, and general modern replacement of food with what are basically biological insults designed by chemists. Eating is a primal interaction with the overall environment, and we are nothing but manifestations of that environment, which extends from the core of the Earth to cosmic vibration to infinity. This has been fractioned, "refined", synthesized, industrialized, and attached to financial and political controls. Much work has been done to create an entirely false culture centered around non-foods and the impediments this is creating. And part of that is positing purely psychological reasons for the problems being caused by what turn out to be very simple biological leverages - and it really doesn't matter what one thinks of themselves - if we are consuming a lot of HFCS, for example, we are actually experiencing a "liver metabolism scam" and most likely accumulating body fat in a strange new way. BTW - I myself have never consumed HFCS, and have not used refined sugar or any common manufactured sweetener for nearly 40 years. No meat either. I wear the same clothing size now as I did when I was 18, and weigh the same as I did then. Haven't seen a doctor in that long either, having had no significant health concerns in all that time. -VonKrankenhaus -
