Tell us where you studied Taoism, Gongfu, Qigong, and Neigong, and who with, to even know what they contain. -VonKrankenhaus

It wouldn't matter what the beliefs are of people who cannot tell real from tricks. They cannot understand what they are seeing because they never really studied anything with anyone, not even chemistry or the fundamentals of electronics, and not Taoism, TaiJi philosophy, martial arts, or qigong either. -VonKrankenhaus

What people call "siddhis" is just the comparison of trained with untrained people. Trained people gain result from training that untrained people do not usually have. Only surprising or different for the untrained. I see a lot in almost 50 years of study. Note that we do not practice Qigong to do "feats". Just to develop functioning and humanity. People who come to this from Media always looking for "feats" because that's what the media wants to show - a show. I can do a media job on you and show and describe many things I see in those decades of study, and impress you. I can make videos that show things. That will just make ME a target of this idiocy about putting on a show for the ignorant. And what will I gain? Idiots and the weak will want power they don't now have. Boring me even here in this group. I will do it when I can figure out a way around that audience. A place and context. Maybe through a university that is already studying this, so university can post it. I go slow. Maybe because I study Chang Ming Shu, I dunno. After 50 yrs, just now in last few yrs starting to teach anyone. I'll do some demonstrations soon, and hopefully in a context that is showing proof at same time, etc. None of this discussion here is good reason, but it will happen. -VonKrankenhaus

Science has proven that when you mix carbon disulfide and yellow phosphorus, once the liquid evaporates, this will ignite in the air. Science has NOT proven that anyone can point at paper and have it burst into flames. If you had study philosophy, you would know this. The philosophy it shows is "Showbiz". -VonKrankenhaus

They were involved in making the film. And even the best testimony from them is just hearsay. So the best evidence "for" what you want is just hearsay, and the evidence "against" is that this is a common trick done by street performers all over the place. Also, "academic" with knowledge of electronic engineering know about low-power LED lamps, new at that time. Video of people cutting tongues also isn't showing any special functioning any more than the videos of the big piercings did. If you actually study Chinese martial arts and Qigong and Daoist philosophy, you can learn what to look for and what is fake junk. Otherwise, there is no real basis to judge people as being involved in these or not. But wow - strong opinions. So willing to make up stuff about people without know anything, and hold onto fake like a gem. What's it all for? -VonKrankenhaus

Is in fact maybe the funniest part, if someone were to actually know me and then see that. -VonKrankenhaus

I might surprise you some time. But I just take it to show that you have no problem jumping to conclusions with zero actual evidence, but just some psychological need for them. So perhaps might want to take a new look at "Chang" videos too. -VonKrankenhaus
-
Kid in my school used to do that at parties. No big deal. Nothing to do with Qi Work or spiritual development. -VonKrankenhaus
-
Sure. But in the video you posted, it is a guy who has pre-made piercings in his cheeks having some cloth passed through them. Might as well be a video of someone putting in really big ear rings. In terms of pain receptors, any video of someone giving birth or passing kidney stone would do. If that "spiritual development" to you, any hospital must be FULL of that. -VonKrankenhaus

This is like saying that when someone "finds" a coin behind your ear, this is a simple trick most kids learn. EVERY SINGLE instance of people lighting paper on fire that I have seen was made using the chemical trick. Why make up impossible scenarios to explain common tricks everyone knows - especially when looks and functions EXACTLY like the trick way does? Means you want to be duped. Outer layers of paper are always shown dry. Inner layers are wet, and ignite when they dry out, which happen fast - but allows time to wave hand, or other gesture of fake power, etc. I am not aware of even one person EVER lighting any paper on fire with "Qi", and especially not in any sort of science experiment or study. The persons expecting it to means they never studied this at all. Just fantasies and bullshits. "Qi" is just movement between the poles of any polarity, and isn't any one substance or thing. In the body - same thing. If you study actual Qigong and Neigong you can develop real thing and not be so looking for newspaper tricks and light bulbs that do nothing good. -VonKrankenhaus
-
Yes. I am writing exactly that. Because there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest otherwise. -VonKrankenhaus
-
He has pierced holes in his cheeks. That's a piercing just like an EAR RING but larger, that's all. This stuff is meaningful to you, and you think it indicate "spiritual development"? Ha! Everyone can trick you. -VonKrankenhaus
-
That's a link to a low-powered LED bulb that will light up from even just static in a room. Then you can lift some Yellow Phosphorus and Carbon Disulfide from a chemistry set and light some newspaper on fire with them. But yeah - read something, anything, about Qigong and Neigong - you'll be surprised. -VonKrankenhaus

I will suggest Occam's Razor again. I have no reason to doubt "Chang". I have no money to make or reputations or anything like a reason to doubt. But I have seen street performers do these same tricks many times over many years. And I did study Chinese Gongfu, Qigong, Medicine, and Philosophy for a long time, and meet many skilled people in my lifetime so far. So I am very familiar with both sides of this - fake and real. "Chang" is a street performer. Fooling people who don't know any better. I'm sure guys making movie were in on it. Seems like it in movie. -VonKrankenhaus

The evidence "against" him is that this is an easy trick to do and is very common, and was at the time. What IS the actual existing evidence, not assertions or hearsay or personal testimony, that shows that he used "Qi" to light the paper? Where is any evidence that he ever lit anything ELSE on fire that way? Newspaper is THE thing usually used in the street trick. Holds the liquids okay, is common, and allow evaporation. But if he lit a plastic bowling ball on fire, or a table, then that would be more difficult to do with the chemicals. But he doesn't do. He uses paper. The video, the documentary film that everyone sees, is showing the chemical fire stunt. There is much evidence for this in the video/movie itself, including the time waiting for the Carbon Disulfide to evaporate before the Phosphorus ignites. You watch others do trick, then watch "Chang" - you see same pacing, same trick. Common. Low-watt LED lamp that will work from walking on a rug was develop and sold in 80s, and is in movie. -VonKrankenhaus

Anyone familiar with this rare Qigong form ?
vonkrankenhaus replied to Sebastian's topic in General Discussion
Modern "qigong" might be like a dance contest or fashion statement. But true Qi Work is about how work with - 12 organ channels, 5 Phases, 8 extra channels, 12 divergent channels, 12 muscle and 12 cutaneous "areas". I look, I see what channels being made to do what, and how interacting. Sounds - what organ resonates, and what tensions in sound effect what organs. Face - dynamic tensions take efforts, then release - that part is WaiDan. Face - also connect to all organs channels - that's how we do face diagnosis of organs. Someone else maybe looking for "Big Lebowski" or if having fun or not, or looks okay compared to people on TV, I dunno. But it's science. And, you know - some people struggling to remember whole form may make various funny faces trying get mind to work, etc - so comedy is there also. Sometimes. -VonKrankenhaus -
All this & Principles stuff is same everywhere - Gurdjieff, etc, New Age "chakras", etc. But this is just the 5 major visible Planets plus Sun and Moon (the "luminaries"). Chinese Wu Xing is same way. New Age obscures this origin and turn it into like "psychology". But the basis was practical calendar making observations. It just people looking at comic book ideas like this. Don't know much better. Better to study calendars and sky. -VonKrankenhaus

Anyone familiar with this rare Qigong form ?
vonkrankenhaus replied to Sebastian's topic in General Discussion
Actually, people who practiced this form for whole life have lived long. Lam Cho, who taught the basis of the people in the videos I show, he live over 100, and teaching right up to the end. Y.C. Wong, sifu in 2nd video I show, is about 87 now, and still going good. Many others also - stay good from doing Tid Sin Kuen for many years. So - all this very good for staying functional at old ages, for real, and not just guess. -VonKrankenhaus -
It's New Age junk: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kybalion Better to study whatever they supposedly base this on. -VonKrankenhaus

Indigo children - fact or load of crap?
vonkrankenhaus replied to paragon's topic in The Rabbit Hole
This concept appeared in popular media right after vaccination was made immune from lawsuits. Previously, in the late 1960s, many retarded children resulted from the newly introduce MMR and Dtap vaccines. Polio vaccine up to 1963 contained a cancer-causing virus, SV40, derived from monkeys. AIDS virus is patented and distributed by US special weapons group, in vaccines. Right now, with 72 vaccinations, 70% of the population is taking prescription medications for degenerative illnesses, including auto-immune illnesses, and autism rate is about 1 in 34. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_children -VonKrankenhaus -
They are hearsay about hearsay about some street performer tricks that some sheltered people who have never study any actual Gongfu, Qigong, Neigong or anything with anyone try to make up opinions about. Deriding thousands of years of culture and hundreds of years of traditional training that you know nothing whatsoever about, in favor of a couple of obvious circus tricks - is a fool's errand if there ever was one. But do not think for a second that I do not wish you all luck with it. I say go all the way - see every detail eventually of "Chang", and the psychology that this kind of thing captures and why. -VonKrankenhaus
-
I agree with that 100%, and have suggested why. Very Good. So, go as far as can go "following" "Chang", then you know. Go every day "Chang" first, lighting papers up all around and being Super. Make video of your "Chang" super powers. Then, check out that "what you guys are doing" and see the reality of comparison. But first - yeah - go all way with "Chang" and be as Super as can get with that. -VonKrankenhaus

It's gentle. If do mine first for some time, then do this one standing you describe, I think maybe you could start a tornado. -VonKrankenhaus -
Anyone familiar with this rare Qigong form ?

The whole pelvis when bent causes transfer in the front into the lower Dantien, and yes, squeeze Thrusting vessel Qi into the Governing vessel and upward with spine. Going horizontal changes the polarity between lower and upper Dantiens - reduces obstacle - while this compression happens. Compressed area "limit" Qi, open or relax area "allow" Qi movement. Even though they do in public demonstration, you do not want the head looking up. Look the face down so the back and neck are straight line. Otherwise Qi piles up at the top of spine, doesn't go up to head - so "blockage". So, keeping head down and mouth closed and tongue on palate, etc. Of course, once Qi is moving at the head, you need to do something with this - that is another exercise. We use it to charge up mid brain - image-making-realizing apparatus - then how to return this circulations down again, etc. -VonKrankenhaus
