I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with seeing a blue orb (?) during their practice..I have had 2 recent experiences seeing a blue color during my practicing of the "Long Meditation". Unable to keep my eyes closed for the entire exercise (because I tend to lose my balance at times) - I clearly saw not an "orb".. but rather 2 wispy-shaped forms situated close together. This was with eyes open. On each occasion, the blue shapes lasted 5-10 seconds and then disappeared. Also interestingly I had this experience, BOTH times at the same part in the Long Meditation..

Bruce Qi - similar to your experience very early on with FP ChiKung system, I also felt strong effects right away - couldn't believe it! However as I continued with my daily practice (it has been 13 mos. now) things began to level out and there was less of a WOW and more of a general calmness that seemed to carry me quietly along throughout the day. Being an energetic, emotional and often scattered person, ChiKung has had a mellowing effect that has given me balance and much needed consistency in all my activities. These changes are quite profound in a very positive way..and I've only just begun! Callanish

Sifu Terry, Thank you for your detailed explanation about the importance of covering the entire FFCH system to receive its maximum benefits. Due to time restraints I am able to practice @ 1 hr. daily - only early in the evening - I have to admit, I was looking for a little short cut.. Oh well I'll just keep plugging along! Callanish

Having become fairly proficient with the 2 FP meditations in vol.3, I went directly to vol.4 learning the Long Standing Celestial Healing Meditation. Now, having practiced this beautiful meditation for 5 months plus the Standing Meditations in vol.5 - I am wondering if I need to go back to the earlier DVDs that I have missed..? Has anyone had a similar concern as far as the order in which one should learn these FF CK exercises? Thanks for any input. Callanish

Trigram vs. Hexagram: To Begin, should I be treating them the same?
Callanish replied to nestentrie's topic in Yijing
Nestentrie In trying to contemplate the significance of the "IChing" - what is its meaning, what is it used for…one needs to be aware of the profound difference between the way in which the Chinese mind thinks vs. the Western mind. The Chinese see the element of chance as intrinsic to natural law which governs the sequence of events in our daily life. It is the causality of events, the manner of cause and effect, that defines the science of western thought. Anyone who uses the IChing to understand the significance or result of the occurrence of events.. at that moment in time wherein the coins randomly fall or the yarrow stalks are randomly divided.. must obviously follow a belief system synchronistic to Asian philosophy. I have been using the IChing to guide me in making decisions, to deal with and understand my conflicts - generally to describe the situation in front of me and help me to see where I am going with it. I do not see this "Book of Changes" as one to be used for devination (or fortune-telling as described by some). For me it has evolved over the past 40+ years of use, into a kind of moral, ethical standard around which I base most actions in my life. Nestentrie, I did not answer to the title of your post re: Trigram vs. Hexagram; as that is a more structural question that I'd like to address at another time... this subject is SO profound I can only make my comments in small doses. Using his series of DVDs from the Flying Phoenix Healing ChiKung system, I have learned several of the standing and moving meditations. Since Sifu Terry is on the West Coast and I am in Ct. and needed correction to help refine my practice - I reluctantly decided to have a lesson with him through Skype. How could one possibly learn ChiKung from a teacher by channeling through some fancy communication technology?!! I had my first Skype lesson last week. He could see me clearly from head to toe framed through the monitor and I was able to demonstrate the exercises with ease.. In a non- judgmental fashion,he offered corrections to my form, he pointed out my mistakes and was very patient and supportive throughout the hour long lesson. Working and learning through Skype with Sifu Terry was really just as good as working with him 1:1 It is because of this wonderful technology that students around the world are now able to receive the benefits of his teachings as they cannot be with him in person. I encourage anyone who wants to perfect their practice, once they have studied the DVDs of Terry's FPCelestial Healing Meditations, to take a class with him through Skype. It is a wonderful experience!
