  1. Thereā€™s suffering inherent to samsara, and depending on your path, especially if itā€™s an alchemical one, itā€™s likely there will also be anxiety - Not being averse to suffering or anxiety is a fundamental requirement IMO.
  2. @Yueya, I believe @Apech is being characteristically clever and funny merging the story of the frog and the princess playing with her ball with the current TOAD conversation.
  3. Absolutely the conclusion I have come to. My method has always been first examining and then allowing each sliver of suffering, over time I have developed a working understanding of how suffering relates to the subtle energy body because this is what fascinates me.
  4. The danger is over, at worst there was just a lot of smoke for the town though sadly a few houses in the bush got burnt down - and itā€™s thanks to all the volunteer and professional firefighters, without their round the clock work it would almost certainly have been a much worse outcome.
  5. Hmmm, bindi said with a note of sarcasm in her tone, though she was trying hard to not appear rude. This isnā€™t like the other messages Iā€™ve been given. I reckon if you donā€™t know the meaning, to believe there is no meaning is really quite an elegant and logical solution. But when it comes to meaning, or lack of it, elegant and logical solutions, though apparently satisfying, can fail to capture the mystery of the actual reality. Just then, a lone rhinoceros came charging out of the woods and impaled bindi with its horn, and tossed her into the air. ā€œWTF does this meanā€ she screamed as she came tumbling back down and landed on the rhinoceroses back. Thatā€™s what happens to people with a different view said Apech sagely, Iā€™ve seen it time and again.
  6. Yes indeed Yueya tā€™is true, the whole town is on high alert, today is expected to be worrying. Itā€™s WAā€s turn this year it seems.
  7. No one had noticed that one of the band was missing. Left behind at the last stop, CC could be seen in the dwindling glow of the fire. He sat quite still, either not noticing or not caring as the fire slowly died down and then finally sputtered out, his unmoving hand inches from the pile of wood that had been gathered earlier. In the cold dark he couldnā€™t see the bright slitted eyes moving stealthily through the forest towards him.
  8. I suspect Iā€™m often rude without trying. Worthwhile to me means doing what weā€™re actually here for, like actually getting it right. There are a thousand different methods that achieve a thousand different aims, and each aim has appeared worthwhile to the person who aimed for it and realised it. But that doesnā€™t make it actually valuable. I donā€™t know what your realisations are, I was referring to the meditational states that you had mentioned falling into as a child, but Iā€™d love to know what your realisations are (so I can be unintentionally rude about them šŸ˜œ)
  9. In the name of what is ā€˜Realā€™ and without trying to be rude at all, assuming that they were evidence of practice done in past lives that comes easily in this life, what evidence is there that it was valuable work then or now? What if you are just repeating a habit that isnā€™t actually getting you anywhere? Does it work is a good gauge, but is it worthwhile is another question.
  10. Pranayama and breath holding

The Vajrayana system states that the central channel (avadhÅ«tÄ«) begins at the point of the third eye like of lord Shiva, curves up to the crown of the head, and then goes straight down to the lower body. There are two side channels, the rasanā and lalanā, which start at their respective nostrils and then travel down to the lower bodyā€¦ The lower end of the central channel ends in the rectum. https://symbolicmemes.wordpress.com/only-breath/chakras-vajrayana/ And from the Buddhist encyclopaedia Central channel (dbu ma, avadhuti). The central subtle channel within the body, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The channel that the white and red drops travel are then likely to be another channel that does involve the penis? At the channel-centres there are white and red drops, upon which physical and mental health are based. The white is predominant at the top of the head and the red at the solar plexus. These drops have their origin in a white and red drop at the heart centre, and this drop is the size of a small pea and has a white top and red bottom. It is called the indestructible drop, since it lasts until death. [At death] The drops move towards the heart centre where the extremely subtle combination of wind-energy and consciousness resides and on reaching it, the drops enclose it between them. [At the moment of death] An external sign is that the red drop continues to ascend and finally exits through the nostril. The white drop descends and exits through the genital opening. https://www.hayagriva.org.au/wheel-of-life/death-process/

From swamij again: Involution and evolution: The process towards realizing and abiding in pure consciousness is one of evolution. The involution of consciousness into the human being is conceptualized as being a process of the creative energy of Shakti condensing further and further into solid form, and falling asleep at the first chakra, at the perineum near the base of the spine. The process of Kundalini Awakening reverses this involution until the full potential of the human is realized in the return to the pure consciousness.
  12. The Abyss

I entered into an abyss in my heart, and it was a very dark place, but I highly recommend it.
  13. Pranayama and breath holding

This is a very clear description of the need to balance Ida and Pingala - https://www.swamij.com/kundalini-awakening-1.htm
  14. Yin and Yang

From reading about basic human biology new sperm is produced continuously whether a man ejaculates or not, so that there are always healthy sperm at hand. I suspect some neidanists then believe that sperm production itself depletes Jing? Allowing desire, and using it in a very precise way, can/will lead to an energy shift IME, but I think neidanists in general reject using desire because it is post-celestial energy. The subtle body is ā€œmore essentially your self than the physical body,ā€ do you think there is something more essential still than the subtle body?
  15. Yin and Yang

Is semen retention the aim for men, or stopping the production of semen? For a woman to stop menstruating ovulation would need to stop, Iā€™m still trying to comprehend if the same fundamental change is required for men, or if it is just overcoming desire for men.
  16. The Cool Picture Thread

Sheā€™s got a full sleeve tattoo! Brilliant!
  17. Yin and Yang

I am influenced by what someone ā€˜sawā€™ coming out of my eyes many years ago, which involves this dynamic cycle between the black and the white channel. What would a daoist make of this? There were two small swords, I only painted the hilt, the rest of the sword was also gold.
  18. Yin and Yang

To completely pare it down, does jing naturally fall downwards when it follows sexual desire (in men and women), but it actually has to travel upwards to reach the middle dantian, which is why desire is such an important issue.
  19. Yin and Yang

I honestly think when it comes to these major polarities ida and pingala really are talking about the same concept as yin and yang: Ida is on the left side and called the lunar nadi. It is associated with feminine energy, active at night and contain water properties. Pingala is on the right side and is called the solar or the sun nadi. It is associated with masculine energy, active during the day and contains fire properties. But I fully respect you wanting to come at it from a purely Daoist perspective. I particularly resonate with the daoist descriptions of dantians, jing qi and Shen etc. I just happen to like the Ida/pingala concept to clarify duality.
  20. Yin and Yang

Thatā€™s a tick for your tradition šŸ˜‰ Good to hear. Yes I was taking it as actual blood and semen only, what is the non-physical counterpart of blood and semen?
