  2. Lower back pain resource.

wall sit is excellent for all types of back pain, you want to make sure you are pushing the lower back into the wall
  3. Emotions and spirituality

sending subtle energy upward? does it really work like that? my understanding is that you go through things where they are, which is all over the body. connecting to heart energy being the one that ramps up equanimity and lets us dissolve blockages increasingly fast. i posted about this is another thread, but being grounded is the name of the game as far as equanimity goes, building up our energy centres. the initial work is to actively bring the energy down, thereby organizing our energy coherently and bringing awareness to the entire body, where all kinds of things are lurking.
  4. Practical ways to let go of attachment?

it's the same feeling that comes up every time. so when it passes, strengthen your resolve by telling yourself that it passed and that's all it was - a feeling that you let push you around. also try and become aware of where it's resonating in the body, there's an underlying energetic charge to these things. hopefully the next time around you can hold onto that truth and sit through it a bit better, secure in the fact that it will ultimately pass. bit by bit, you get more comfortable with these feelings.
  5. Did Buddha consider the Kundalini bad?

my humble opinion on this kundalini stuff is that a lay practitioner will need to stay grounded in order to deal with every day life and move through the process of clearing blockages through increased concentration and thus equanimity. basically, stuff going on at the upper chakras doesn't seem to be helping the cause if one already has too much energy concentrated in the head and is trying to bring it back into the body. i guess this is more in line with traditional buddhist schools of thought and it certainly lines up with my own experience when energy is more active or open in certain areas. i think these flows will open up by themselves with the time is right and our own systems are ready - ie we are far enough down the path of purification. kickstarting the process may provide some type of insight, but things will ultimately close down again if we haven't systmetically worked through our blockages/delusion. staying grounded is the name of the game.
  6. Ron Teeguarden's Tonic Alchemy

tonic alchemy is great, tastes way too good for a 'green powder' and they revised it to version 2.0 to include some extra goodies like the kinetic ginseng. very pricy but for my money probably the best green mix, except for 'amazing grass' if you're on a budget. i can happily drink it alone with water or a hemp/nut milk base and still enjoy the taste.
  7. Boxers Fracture healing

on the nutriment side of things, i've heard using eucommia & deer antler together can drastically speed up healing from physical injury, as well as replenishing deeper energy reserves. could be worth a try, though deer antler is a little expensive, but eucommia at least is doable.

  9. talk about Reishi

i was wondering what people thought about this, any experiences using some reishi for a period of time while engaging in practice? i felt like it was very beneficial to go along with meditation, especially taking just before bed. it can possibly help with entering deeper healing and dream states. that was my experience with purple reishi. and also if anyone is knowledgeable if there is are any drawbacks to using it quite often? ideally i could cultivate some myself.
  10. welcome! hope you find some helpful information here. nothing like a good semen post to introduce yourself to the forum
  11. i'm not so sure about the latter part. i believe you can make great progress while in a healthy, loving (and sexual) relationship at any adult age. unfortunately i don't have the experience to back up this assumption, but it seems a surefire way to cultivate deep loving kindness (not to mention dual energy practices) and thus equanimity as long as you're not getting too caught up with attachment/lust along the way. likewise, i think the attraction between male and females runs deeper than the 'contents' of our subconscious mind, it's built into the very hardware. so it's more about the energetic exchange as the 'motivation' for seeking out a partner. i've seen this discussed in terms of jing and qi here, the guy with the big build is rocking a lot of potential qi, whereas the 'feminine' woman is rich in yin jing. of course it's never that simple and we get entangled with stuff along the way, but it possible to get to the sqaure root of what's going on, away from the layers of ideas we're holding. lust is a tough one though, boy oh boy
  12. Cannabis effect on Cultivation; views in CTM

yeah if you increase awareness inside the body in a balanced way it has a natural grounding effect. you're kinda connecting all the dots the energy system which naturally builds it in the lower places. if you already do movement stuff that compliments it very much.

welcome interesting post, would be a shame to waste it by leaving it in the intro board
  14. Cannabis effect on Cultivation; views in CTM

if you want to bring your energy back into the body and ultimately get grounded after prolonged cannabis use, definitely look into body parts meditation practices ie meditating through the body.
  15. Hello, great site you guys have got here!

  16. The Effects of Psychedelics on Cultivation

love what has been said in this thread. to echo some of the statements here, i am kind of in two minds but with the overarching belief that they are very helpful when used diligently, with the right intentions. for example, there is no way i would be here right now and following my current path of cultivation/meditaiton practices if it were not for a powerful psilocybin experience a couple of years back. i had used it in the past, but for fun, whereas this time i went into it with the specific intention of facilitating healing and set the mood with some soulful, emotional music. what happened was quite remarkable and led to both physical healing and a number of realizations. the physical healing part is more unusual to the people i've described it too, but bear in mind i was in a bad shape energetically at the time (long term chronic illness). during the trip it felt like someone lit a fire in my chest, i started breathing deeply, crying and huge amounts of mucus was ejected through the nose. having read about 'subtle phlegm' buildup and it's associated energies this now makes sense, it was purging at the deepest level and i felt profoundly happier, less attached and lustful after the experience. i also had realizations as to the interconnectness of nature, the life principle and the hillarity of how you can't stop it or struggle against it. so the best thing is clearly to align with it and connect with love and empathy wherever we can. this seems to be a more common thread in psilocybin experiences and undoubtedly a core lesson the mushroom has to offer. so there was that, but the downside was that i became increasingly unsettled in the coming days, on the back of the blissful healing. in short i became disturbed by people, had a breakdown (scary) and that was the final straw that led to seeking out a teacher, learning meditation/energy practices and being where i am now with this stuff. i was confused, hopelessly lost, but there were 'signs' that made it abundantly clear that's what i had to do. ended up being the best thing i ever did. but this proves the point of what's been said about being in good shape and grounded before being able to work with these substances, to minimize any risks. something the teacher has said about 'quantum' experiences is that they can be amazing and offer breakthroughs, realizations, but it can be very hard to integrate them into ones life without some context as to what is going on. in that sense they're a crude approach to healing, almost like using a sledgehammer. therein comes the importance of a more systematic training of the mind, teachings, practices, to give us the deepest insight into our day to day lives and slowly drop our 'stuff' at a pace that's comfortable. my experience seems to have been essential to my own 'path', including the aversion that came afterward, due to where it lead me, but not recommended to the average confused person who is sick and needs guidance. things could easily take a turn for the worse and you wind up in an even darker place for not having understood the significance of what happened. many of our negative habit patterns are deeply ingrained and will not be even close to gone in one go. powerful stuff that can upset a delicate balance in many scenarios. i've used psilocybin a couple more times recently, armed with knowledge on energetics, dhamma teachings and a stable meditation practice. very different! what i can say is that it's very obviously working on the subtle body-karmic energy. the 'dissolving' of ego is working through past experiences via the empathetic viewpoint it brings. on a physical level it feels like the front brain area is totally frozen, which is 100% backed up by neuroscience research on the substance. that's what you're trying to achieve in meditation and it's doing it for you. doing actual meditation on top of that becomes very easy, i sat cross legged and some interesting things happened - people in the house experienced vivid dreams while i was doing so and also i was seeing into other realities/realms - images of a city with red buildings (seemed to have buddhist relevance) phased in-out over this reality in my visual field, pretty cool! unfortunately huge breakthroughs weren't really a thing, it brought all my 'stuff' right to the surface in a way that i wasn't ready to deal with all at once. things 'coming up' also has the effect of making time seem to move faster, in an uncomfortable way (easy to tell through music) and afterward i was totally off-balance due to the strength of this energy. this solidified my thinking to just continue with the practices, where i can work through stuff at a steady pace, rather than try and speed things up when there was no realizations, only peaking awareness of stuff i'm already well aware of. last thing to note is that i think the karma burning element of psilocybin is using up active chi/jing in the system to do it's stuff. after a session you feel absolutely starving like you haven't eaten in a week, so it's interacting with something in the physical energy system too.
  17. i think the more important factor when it comes to elements is what you can directly percieve. not in abstractions or ideas about the world, but direct perception by placing your mind upon objects. to that end there doesn't need to be a theoretical resolution, just a cultivation of ones mind to experience and differentiate the different energies in our materiality. that experiential knowing is the core truth, if you ask me.
  18. Hello from UK

    greetings!
  19. What is your practice?

balinese usada meditation, healing practice taught to me with a wide range of applications-results. basically a body parts thing. in buddhist context it gets into vipassana territory (if you're going at it enough) and refines direct perception by concentrating on the different elements in body. grounding and increasing equanimity are the main benefits. my personal results have been reversing chronic ailments (skin condition, digestive issues) and clear light/awakened dreams that flicked a switch and brought various perceptions/abilities online. reality feels very, very different nowadays i plan to do more single pointed concentration in the future, but feel there's a long way to go with this healing practice and getting my life in order before that makes sense.
  20. Synchronization,

i've also found the 'universe' providing strong visual metaphors as a means of demonstrating things along the way. things that are so obvious in their meaning that you have to chuckle
  21. What are you listening to?

    HEY...................HO
  22. Greetings.

welcome! interesting experiences that line up with my own somewhat. second what OldChi is saying about energy hitting blockages, it's not enough to get more 'power' flowing through the system, it's as much about the amount of resistance. it sounds like you have a lot of 'stuff' to go through, lust as both karmic formations and physically manifested (damp/yeast etc). specifically some type of practice to keep the body open or grounded (yoga/qigong) will get more energy releasing instead of just accumulating a heavy feeling.
