Also my personal experiences aren't all puppies and rainbows, most of them are very dark, and that doesn't sell well. People want to be reassured that everything is going to be ok, and there is no way to say otherwise without becoming the bad guy

Do you improvise in Qi Gong and Tai Chi?

I'm taught both form and spontaneous movement. But those two are not to be mixed. being a beginner, when I do a form I need to try to keep to that, after having done spontaneous movement that's not always easy Interesting idea that , maybe, there will come a time that that will change and that there will come more freedom (?) in doing the form. But I do not hanker for it. -

interesting thread, for many years, decennia really, i was like your wife. Unable to visualize ( although I did have dreams that were 'real' meaning i could give an description of the surroundings that were in my dream) some years ago something happened and from that moment on i was able to visualize, probably not as strong as some others but it was sort of amazing for me. i'm sure could train it quite easily now if I wanted. reading this thread i realize that as a child I was able to visualize too. And that I've lost that possibility after a traumatic experience. but of course i do not say that that is the reaon that your wife can't. but still, thought i should add my experienceto the thread

it does now, fast work. thanks I had the habit of just looking at the page ' new content' ( i think it was named that, button top-right) never really looked at which forum a thread came from. Nice really, sometimes reading very nice threads in subforums which I probably would not look at ( such as buddhist forum, to much lingo for e to get what there aiming at, hindus idem) Is there some button which does the same in this new layout?

I've thought sometimes, that the getting irritable during practice or just walking in stillness has as it source that blockages are slowly loosening themselves. there emotional content comes up , giving you the feeling of irritation. Also I suspect that physical part of blockages coming loose give some sort of 'waste' in the body. Thereby generating tiredness. it be good to drink a nice amount of water or herbal tea to help the body getting rid of this waste just my opinion

I think it is a good idea to split this thread, the OP asked an important question. It's something that many a practicer will meet. He asked in a way that makes me feel that he's somewhat unsure about it. The tiredness and the feel of stress is something that may stop beginning cultivators from going further because it's not what they expected. So I for one should like it if this thread is kept clean of unrelated issues. it's in the interest of future readers
