Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
blue eyed snake replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
yes...thank you these days that's what is coming to me, the feeling that the same patterns are repeating over and over again, and lately i've become aware that that is stretching over ages, many lives. More and more i do recognize them for what they are, but not yet able to quit the feeling that i'm finished with it, interestingly it seems that some small divergences present themselves, now it's what is to be done with those, not to say that i think i'm 'there' where-ever that is, but your words seem like confirmation. so your words touched something in me, BES- 554 replies

I'm happy for you, a had a like experience some years ago and it felt so good, liberating. And, like you, i didn't even know it was closed until it opened. Now i find that through the years it is opening more. For me it was the first step in an ongoing proces, love BES -

"Meditation can lead people into possible psychosis," according by Dr. Miguel Farias, author of "The Buddha Pill: Can Meditation Change You?"
blue eyed snake replied to zen-bear's topic in Group Studies
good topic, feel not up to a long post, but want to add this Even though I haven't read the DSMV yet. I do know that in the DSMIV psychosis is defined something like: hearing voices and/or seeing things that are not real (visible, hearable) for other people. But diagnosis can follow only if the noise/voices/visions lead to fear/anxiety in the subject. Also no diagnosis if the symptoms are fitting for the cultural background. And in the culture I grew up hearing voices is generally equalled to being mad, ergo it inspires fear because of the cultural belief that it is a sure sign of going out of whack. BES- 40 replies

Nice read Marble, you use terms that I can understand today I was outside a little and saw a small swarm of starlings, they were swooping and swirling, never touching each other, a beautiful choreography. It seems to me they are perfectly in accordance with dao, By their swooping and swirling they are acting De, they are virtuous in the sense De means? They cannot behave otherwise but in accordance with Dao. when I was looking at them I thought, to be really virtuous ( in the sense of De) one should be able to live and act like those starlings. Then I wondered about free will, humans are the only animals that, allegedly, have free will. Being somewhat younger than you , it is still a question for me. some pondering: Sure, we make choices. But what would be virtuous/De: Would I kill the rapist? or comfort the young girl and help her to regain her worthiness, go through the fear and the anger, make her life worthwhile again. Both can be virtuous/De, but only comforting the girl would be called virtuous in a cultural sense. Killing by citizens is usually frowned in most cultures. It seems to me that culture is taking away our free will, our chance to behave virtuous/De and when I make that choice, is that free will? or is it the ingrained 'lessons' of my culture and parents. Sometimes it seems to me that much of what is regarded as free will, is just that, ingrained lessons, often not even conscious. Still , i would not want a culture with no rules/total anarchy. Most people seem unfit to me to make a happy neighbourhood without rules...

I dunno...it just happened as a byproduct of an insight that came to me at that time. I asked my teacher about it, he just looked at me, smiled his enigmatic smile and told me those things can happen Brought it up as an example that the body can, indeed, change in ways that i would never have believed beforehand. So now my trust that 'I ' can change and heal my body has grown immensely, the limits, that my mind give me, have widened considerably. And every-time I look at myself in the mirror i see the truth of that. But I was thankful that my country stopped naming eyecolour on identitypapers. How does one explain that ones eyecolour has changed. I've grown some too, about 2 or 3 centimeters, but I think that's the length I l had already lost growing older, still, I had to mention that one getting new papers. love BES

The Holy Spirit is not Kundalini - Daskalos
blue eyed snake replied to Tibetan_Ice's topic in General Discussion
I did find the interview with, indeed, a christian monk http://thedaobums.com/topic/30995-insights-from-a-christian-monk-esoteric-christianity-as-a-legit-path/ now reading it I find: wich speaks about one of the questions that i have, as some of you may already know, i'm not much of a reader Kundalini seems to be a mainly hindu 'thing' even though earlier in this thread it is made clear that the sacred discs are to be found in other cultures, including western culture. Thanks for that, i didn't know that. The holy spirit descending, or as this man puts it: seems to be a more or less christian experience. Regardless of how we name it, whether the holy spirit is already part of us or not. it is the experience of light entering the crown and what it does to you. Just as kundalini is the experience of snakelike energy going up your spine. I remember that i once talked to some guy following the shamanic path, he called it eh... something like "receiving the white light" I would like to know if there are people around here who can come up with examples from other cultures/paths. ---- and of course, you can say that they are the same energy, in the end everything energetically is the same/ the source. Von Krankenhaus once gave a beautiful description on how the energies of the earth and the cosmos are related/intermingling/one ( i would that he repeated it here because i do not know it anymore) But the original poster gave us a topic whether they are the same , or not and why. And i find that an interesting topic. As i wrote before, it is interesting because of the different ways the body-mind perceives and reacts on these energy-flows. From Daskalus ( bolding mine) Not only making it clear that the sacred discs are not a specifically hindu-culture thing but also he warns against playing around with kundalini-fire ( or so i understand it) because of the inherent dangers. -
The Holy Spirit is not Kundalini - Daskalos
blue eyed snake replied to Tibetan_Ice's topic in General Discussion
Thank you mooninite, concerning the question whether being allowed to receive the holy spirit is the same as kundalini. Well, that there both energetically in nature does not make them the same, neither in experience, nor in the nature of ' what' they are/ represent. i would say, ask someone who has experienced them both. I wouldn't be surprised when the answer is that they are different in ' quality/nature' and ( therefore) in experience. neither would i be surprised that someone who has experienced the grace from above would tell you that the light/energy flows out of your hands and , indeed, your belly, love BES and as an afterthought, somewhere on the forum is an interview with a christian monk ( i think) telling about this grace, but i cannot find it now, a link towards that post would be most appropiate -

well...i do not agree with that. we once had a book with a lot of those pictures, my son and ( now ex) partner had a lot of fun with it, i didn't see a thing, and boy i tried... I'm unable to see the heart ( even after being told that it is there) and the reason for that is that my depth-seeing is severly impaired. but I did have i nice effect from the original post, that fern started to grow like mad
