  1. I used to practice what was called burning palm a long time ago. Similar to iron palm. With regards to what is called "Kong Jin", most seem enjoy the fails often shown. Touched or not the process is the same, how its used is really not depicted in the clips of fails. It would seem that some of the ones forgetting this are often the ones shown in the clips of fails. Kong Jin, was one of my teachers specialties https://journeytoemptiness.com/2015/03/22/volley-jin/ I show this not as an advocate, or as proof only as information about things I've found on my own path. Others as always may find different.

  3. Is Tai chi fake?

"DahnMuDo is an energy-based, non-combative, healing martial art, with roots dating back thousands of years into Korean history. In Korean, “Dahn” means energy. “Mu” means “martial,” or “limitless” and “Do (Tao)” means, “the way,” or, “the ultimate truth. DahnMuDo is therefore also known as “The Art of Being Limitless. Its mind-body training methods combine martial arts movements with universal energy principles to help practitioners circulate blood and energy through the body, and recover the natural balance and rhythm of the body and mind. Its goal lies in training the body and mind to become one." http://www.martialdevelopment.com/blog/dahnmudo-revealed/ I think it would be more correct to say its taiji like "maybe " Not a "Korean taiji" It would be interesting to see if the history matches what is claimed. Taekkyeon, would probably fit into what would or could be called a kind of Korean taiji like style. I taught taiji a long time ago to a Korean soldier while in Korea, he would later go on to study the art and noted its similarities. "Taekkyeon is a traditional Korean martial art first explicitly recorded during the Joseon Dynasty. Taekkyeon is characterized by fluid, dynamic footwork called "pum balgi" or Stepping-on-Triangles. Taekkyeon has many leg and whole-body techniques with fully integrated armwork. Although taekkyeon primarily utilizes kicking, punching, and arm strikes thrown from a mobile stance and does not provide a framework for groundfighting, it does incorporate a variety of different throws, takedowns, and grappling techniques to complement its striking focus. The martial art is frequently romanized informally as Taekgyeon, Taekkyon, or Taekyun."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taekkyeon
  4.  Focusing Emptiness

"Focusing Emptiness is about how the significant choices we make in life can be colored by the trauma we experience in childhood. It is about how we split off our most vulnerable parts, and how these parts can sometimes fall into a fantasy world where real world choices become entangled with the fantasy world designed to protect us. If you have ever looked back on your life, and wondered why you made that particular decision, that decision which turned your direction at that critical fork in the road, then this book will touch something of deep recognition inside you." http://focusingemptiness.com/index.php/about-the-book My first CMA teacher wrote a book explaining the start for many peoples journeys in life. some of which I outline in my own journey to emptiness. https://journeytoemptiness.com/2017/05/10/beginnings/ thought some might enjoy the reading,,,
  5.  Focusing Emptiness

Mike seems to have found his way here, becoming one of the "bums" he's been walking the path for quite a while... Some thoughts on his book. In some ways its a strange book in that one can not read it right a way. like a fine wine one has to savor the taste allowing it to seep in quietly. Although it does have chapters and such. Each can stand on its own complete within its self, and yet part of a greater whole. an insightful work. hope others take the time to read the book, any questions privately or publicly Mike, is very approachable.

Hi Mike, good to see you here. For those reading, Mike was my first introduction into the world of Chinese Marital Arts. "CMA" He and Gary Fung, would have a long lasting influence on a young teenager growing up in troubled times. Mike & Gary Its only recently that I've reconnected with him again. Mike, has been walking the path of the dao for a long time, I hope he can share some of his experiences here, and those with questions ask, its not often one has the chance to talk with someone who spans history is such a direct way. Welcome to the broad Mike, david,

  8.  Focusing Emptiness

For those interested, Mike, might address comments here. If posed to him directly. I'll forward the links to him, ya never know he is busy but enjoys working with people and sharing things he's found along the way. I like this site, the high level of discourse and the many varied conversations. My hope would be that maybe he sees the site and joins the bums,,,,another bum walking on the path of the dao....life is good.
  9.  Focusing Emptiness

Hop Gar, was very cool in many aspects, Mike has many stories about his use of it. Our training in the style was very severer, it among other styles was/is billed as a fighting style. The mantis style as taught in Korea, seems to be a little different then those lines from HK reflecting IMO more the flavor of Shandong the origin of the mantis style. talks a little bit about my teacher in this style http://www.oocities.org/mantiscave/parkchil.htm Mike, is very accessible by email, should some be interested in corresponding with him.
  10. Stefan Molyneux Exposed.

@ ralis, refute what he says. Yes you do a good job of understanding what character means as this is what you seem to respond to. Not to facts and current observations so you seem to feel the "armor" he talks about is "character" ok
  11. Stefan Molyneux Exposed.

Talks about why some "people" can say the same things and no one will attack them they have an "armor" , while other "people" get attacked no "armor" wonder what this "armor" is interesting, unfortunately true.
  12. Is the USA now a rogue state?

I would not say its screwing itself up or that we are helping it to do so,,I would say like the dao it acts according regardless. doesn't really matter whether we find it convenient or not.
  13. Is the USA now a rogue state?

Violations of the planet's ecosystem ? Oh my there are lions tigers and bears in the forest. Are we not part of it. Seems like if we do manage to change it, or it changes it's just a natural progression of things.
  14. Is the USA now a rogue state?

Slow down Obi Wan, all good stuff. Need to read it a couple of times to unpack it.
  15. Is the USA now a rogue state?

lets try this and think about it.
  16. Is the USA now a rogue state?

sounds like you might need a trigger warning.
  17. Is the USA now a rogue state?

We could go on about what tribes did what and so on,,,what would it prove....maybe that they are "human" like the rest of us. They lost the war,,,,get over it....and maybe they will to. Posting using the tech you and some others complain about, but still use and I would imagine enjoy...You do enjoy the freedoms that those test helped insure don't you.....
  18. What does this mean?

Reading this it kind of made me think about what is called Wei Qi Field in Qigong "All living bodies generate an external field of energy called Wei Qi (pronounced “whey chee”), which translates as “protective energy.” The definition of Wei Qi in Medical Qigong is slightly different than that of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In Classical Chinese Medicine texts, the Wei Qi field is seen to be limited to the surface of the body, circulating within the tendon and muscle tissues. In Medical Qigong, however, the Wei Qi field also includes the three external layers of the body’s auric and subtle energy fields. This energy originates from each of the internal organs and radiates through the external tissues. There the Wei Qi forms an energy field that radiates from the entire physical body. This field of Qi protects the body from the invasion of external pathogens and communicates with, as well as interacts with, the surrounding universal and environmental energy fields." http://keystohealing.ca/?p=3349 "Any negative interchange affects the Wei Qi by literally creating holes within the matrix of the individual’s external energetic fields. When left unattended, these holes leave the body vulnerable to penetration, and disease begins to take root in the body. Strong emotions, in the form of toxic energy, become trapped within the body’s tissues when we hold back or do not integrate our feelings. These unprocessed emotions block the natural flow of Qi, thus creating stagnant pools of toxic energy within the body." It seemed like in reading the post, that maybe the poster is allowing other things to influence this field. Maybe by understanding it, one may be able to either strengthen it or learn how to not allow others to influence it. Hope things work out.
  19. Voice of the Lost Child

"Voice of the Lost Child" Written by my first Chinese martial arts teacher. Sometimes I find myself moving in ways I don't quite understand at the time, but upon reflection seem to arise from the past. lives, experiences, interactions. I found freedom in the understanding that with out nothing to defend there are no "defenses" and no need for "offenses" this has been and is part of my own journey to emptiness. Thought others might enjoy reading about a fellow traveler's, journey.

The problem with a lot of whats going on is the lack of understanding and will of the west.. First understand whats really happening. Second have the will to do what it takes to Eliminate the Threat. They understand what they're doing, why and the how.... What will it take for the west to listen... https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/
  21. Is the USA now a rogue state?

Wow California, is so lucky to have such a visionary leading the state. I hope all can afford the tax increases to pay for his visions.
  22. Is the USA now a rogue state?

when is a war not a war,,,when is the past not the "real" past answer: when ever some one from what is called the left is trying to make a point....
  23. Is the USA now a rogue state?

So rather then acknowledge racist comments you chose to focus history, instead of current events. got it....My gen comment about the US should have been in prefaced with "modern times". As to making it great again,,a matter for another thread considering the past 8 yrs and what seems to be a set course that seems unable if not impossible to change....Hope it does but not really optimistic on this.
  24. Is the USA now a rogue state?

yellow and brown ones, really? Hello racist? Can you you name any other country in the history of the world that has done more for the world at large besides the US.
  25. London Bridge

Ones understanding starts to get real good when ones life depends on what one is doing...If one is not living the life, than yes they make good reading material. If one is engaged with an active enemy it helps in understanding what they may or may not be doing. The problem arises as it always does when a population has forgotten or has not been exposed to war, what it means, and what it does. They watch it from home on the TV thinking they get it.....some unfortunately do after the fact when others watch them on TV as the latest casualty.
