UFC Fighter Says He Will Defend Tai Chi
windwalker replied to Green Tiger's topic in General Discussion
Thanks just wondered. A style I was somewhat familiar with had similar accounts. The leitai, was a proving ground for many styles back in the day. They may not have been as "scientific" in styles /approaches used which IMO often accounts for the high injury rate often reported. Also some the people back then were not exactly nice guys. Different time -

Taiji as a practice only exist in those who practice it. Why is it that many who practice it look for conformation of their practice outside themselves. I don't -
you have not outlined your goals, expectations or past history of any other type of MA training. There really is no "form" to lean...considering in the past it was taught one movement at a time,,,any type of linking ie a "form" might be considered advanced depending on ones outlook. There are different approaches, how they'er viewed really depends ones self. best of luck,,,if you share a little more about your expectations it might help with any advice given..

As an Infantry Army medic, I had a soldier. Who had a problem, he could not feel "his" right foot. I asked him to remove his boot and look away. Stabbed his foot with a big needle. Suddenly, he found his foot. I asked if the other foot had the same problem we could check it,,,,he said no problem and left...

If you could study internal arts with any teacher in the world, who would it be?
windwalker replied to Green Tiger's topic in Systems and Teachers of
nice, When I work with people I always tell them the real teacher is within. I only help them to find it, and help it to understand how to express itself. . Of course ones inner nature has a lot to do with the the guides made available to one. One may see a taiji master practicing in a park, another seeing the same master may only notice an old man... One must really be clear in the what and why of their seeking..... luck in your journey. -

http://taichitaiwan.blogspot.tw/?m=1 Some might find this link useful for finding taiji teachers in Taipei. On a side note I am starting a small taiji group hsinchu. So far the response has been good. This has been kind of a pilot program for me. One in which I will build on after I return, back from the US. Taiwan might be a little bit more user-friendly than living in China. -
Many people have an inner dialogue that assesses and informs them of the world around them. To be in the moment is different from viewing the moment. The tiredness you feel may be the self trying to regain it's perspective of what it feels the moment to be, not willing to relinquish it's own internal point of view for what the moment is.

Taiwanese Women who Practise Spirituality

For someone who talks about working on the inside it seems you're very much involved with what's going on the outside. -
"But let's be real here, it's not only the West that is having problems. China has over 2 billion people, India has over 1 billion people, the geology and environment in many parts of Africa cannot support the human populations." Of the the 3 mentioned China is really not having the same problems as the other 2, India and Africa,,, Think about why this is so,,,,nothing to really to do with the geology or environment... Lets keep it real

No need, we all have view points even if they'er different. Why not just address issues that some have brought forward that others may or may not agree with.... Of course if its a "waste of time" then by all means "time" is not something that any one should waste... I hope all are doing something that they enjoy or find interesting with the time they have....

always find memes like this odd. Who would be this "us" to note what the world be with out.

You post is very confused. Your speaking of times and places you've never lived in nor have experienced. You'r posting from a device that is a product of the tech. that has allowed more people to live a better and longer life than at any other time in history. If you feel so strongly about building your own "cage" nothings preventing you or anyone else from escaping it, returning to the mythical garden of Eden that some may feel once was.... Yes, reading some of the postings here seems many have become domesticated, hopefully the new Presidents administration can help to change this. It may be already to late

So am I to understand that we are not part of the system that you speak of.

Its not the space. Its that they need others to "support" their life style so they can continue to live as they did in the past. Its even more interesting when others "not of the tribe" ask why there is no support or not enough support given by others but some how do not give "themselves"

If you didn't use western internet resources to post here, you could still feel pity and no one would ever have to know about it. Its the technology created by the culture of the west that allows most of what is called 3rd world to survive their own cultures and continue to do so. Unfortunately the culture that made it possible is being supplanted with those that never made it possible within their own cultures of origin. It remains to be seen whether this is a good thing or not. May guess is not. If you want to feel sad about something feel sad, about what will happen, is happening as this process continues.

Lets Talk Obama - Was he a good President?

The most one can say about Obama, was that he was very consistent. Hopefully some of his "hope and change" can be undone... -
Is there an ignore function? Could there be?
windwalker replied to soaring crane's topic in Forum and Tech Support
I find the level of discourse on this form to be very interesting and quite high. As far as the ignore function if one does not have attachment to what others say and are not attached to what they say, this often resolves a lot of things.
