Ways to breathe in the most amount of air?
AussieTrees replied to Arya's topic in General Discussion
Hi Arya, There are several exercises we can use to improve our breathing. 1.Tighten abdominal muscles slightly on inhale, this has the effect of engaging the two lower lobes of the lungs. Also described as reverse breathing. On exhale, relax abdominal muscles. Some masters are said to only breathe in this manner. 2.This useful when you are becoming chesty with maybe early onset of a chest infection. Breath in deeply, now exhale, and continue exhaling even when you can hear crackling congestion. When you have expelled as much as possible, close windpipe and at the same time, enlarge your chest cavity and hold for as long as possible, then take in as much air as possible, again hold your breath again. This creates a vacuum helping dislodge phlegm. May also result in coughing up substance of yuk. When you resume breathing normally, there should be less congestion. -
Hi Everything, Apologies, for being blunt,on reflection we don't really understand your situation. My thoughts were you sounded isolated in your present situation. If this is your reality then, getting out meeting people seems worth a try,and doing fun things in company. Study of any sort has benefit of social contact, maybe even join a music group. Aliens are alien who know what there motives may be.

Thankyou Des, Codependency, like mother and children, become dependant on one another. Sometimes this can be a protective front by the mother, keeping her children safe from an abusive spouse. At some point the relationship dissolves. Mother and children develope further codependancies. After a time things slowly normalise,it takes time to heal to become well again. Seek out help,if needed, these are difficult times. Or is it like an 'ice'user codependant on their dealer. Just stories, what was the question?

Missed by that much. Just missed by 15 million miles. Everyone happy with that?

help with clearing energy blocks and moving forward.

Eat well, get regular exercise, drink plenty of fluids. Emotions are very taxing physically. Try concentrating on your breathing, this focus will help with sleep. As well as give you a break from obsessive thoughts. Passing of time will be helpful in gaining maturity as well as reducing these repetitive processes. -
Hi Everything, Well, you should get out more, never mind astral travel, take a bus to the nearest town. Talk with others, look at the local interests or history, involve yourself, meet peoples, try some fun. Don't become your own meanest jailer with impossible gods. And please stop dicking around. Your path of astral travels start from your place with the first step.

Experience is strongly aligned to memory, this is our personal diary. Insight helps us manage our emotions, which is helpful in reducing our self created suffering. Self created suffering will continue it's torment until we achieve acceptance. Attachments distort us,especially when there is a loss,or change in our relationships. We all have possessions and relationships, this is a good thing, but these are also attachments. Understanding impermanence is helpful when the time comes,'to let go'. Understanding these points is gradual and developes, understanding these points are at play with others is empathy. Reading Buddha history and teachings will reveal a valuable psychology lesson, also very calming. Please enjoy your life as no one else can.If this is not happening stop and have an honest personal review. We achieve change quickly when change is our choice.

Hi Everything and Marblehead, Boring really? About 18 months ago,eBay one wood lathe,to use if ever there was a boring precipitation. Anyway with no experience,I had a go at it. The thing with a wood lathe,it helps you control your personal anxiety, also practicing 'horse stance 'whilst cutting a bowl. It spinning pieces of wood, which can be dangerous, there was a couple blocks of wood that went spinning past my left ear as they dislodged from the lathe, showing my less than expert efforts. Then try again, get it right this time. Can't imagine how much personal damage would have occurred if hit by one of those pieces. But get it right, now can spin wooden bowls and now make wooden lids as well. Now need a rest, back to gardening or reading or online or chores. Feed the local wild parrots, put out a tray of seed, galahs, rosellas, occasionally it white cockatoos, they spill seed that falls to the ground, the neighbors ducks have learnt this so they congregate beneath and eat the fallen seeds. Anyway starting to ramble. No never came across any alien ship, but have had similar thoughts of tearing through the sky in an alien craft. Could be fun, boring is a choice we make, and that's fun as well.

Thankyou dawei, you have nailed it. We all eat to much hi calorie foods, yeah we love it. LBP generally flares up as we get overweight,so it becomes easy to fast when experiencing LBP. Drink plenty of water, then when you are good and hungry after at least 30 hours of fasting, eat something that will clear the bowels. Beans and vegetables is my favourite with plenty of chilli, sometimes 14 weetbix works just as well,or pasta.Anyway if all goes well the bowels will empty with some relief to lower back. Then fast another 24hours,drink plenty of fluids.

We placed several flat rocks over the filled in hole in the ground,fo our little 14 yo Bella. Bella was a jack Russell dog,the only dog that would smile at visitors. She would show her teeth and spin in circles of excitement when confronted by visitors. Yes we miss her,but we also remember her whilst watering the bonsai plants we now place on those stones. Thankyou very much Des for your reminder that life is short.

Stop it all. No killing animals for food. Stop killing and displacing native animals, stop burning the trees to grow crops. Stop wild fishing, stop caged fish factories. Please stop killing the young calves so we can drink their milk. Probably should stop killing the mice as well. Nuts we could probably live on ethical nuts, they must exist somewhere. You know the nuts that were grown without first killing every creature right down to the microbes in the soil, but will there be enough of this ethical foodstuff to go around? Bananas are ethical, probably not. What I'm trying to say,is it does not matter to much what you eat, everything we eat causes animals/birds/fish/insects to die. -
Our departure is resisted, yet it is earth that provides everything needed to depart,ie space travel. Including a safe home to return, the best nest, your own bed. Emotions are not assigned to planet earth,it is we earthlings who are emotive. Seeing the tempestuous storm,we emotively recognise this as rage,or the earthquake, mudslide, volcano, all catastrophic or just happenings. We see also joy in the spring rejuvenation,or the Autumn stillness with awe. Make of it what you will. What are we if not born of this earth.

They stopped chasing the animals with spears and arrows. After someone came up with the idea of raising animals for eating. This is a good thing, well at least a Nuetral cause. And mostly the farm animals are well cared for,yet there is sadness when they leave the farm. Wild animals spared, well not really,at best diminished and displaced. Maybe we could all try to become air airarian, haven't heard much about these practices for many years. Return of Airarian Knights. -
Earth has energy to share with us,we are native to this planet. Earthlings is an appropriate tag. Every breath takes in the abundant oxygen, how lucky we breath the stuff. We like water, lucky again,we got plenty. The plants and animals ,our food, thrives on nitrogen, lucky again we got plenty. No,it's no mistake, nor is it luck, that we were born the way we are,it is our design. Designed by mum and dad, planet earth. We have yet to realise our full potential, many things yet to discover about our relationship.

This planet earth, our mother and father earth. We are the consciousness of our earth. Before there was life on earth there was none,ie no life, lifeless. Baron earth, showered by stardust for eons, created us all,ie everything. Nurtured and loved us,this earth is our parents. There is only oneness with this planet,as we return after death, having never really been away.

What gives us the Ability to <fill in the blanks>
AussieTrees replied to dwai's topic in General Discussion
After many rainy days, sometimes we also get strong winds. Locally this will see several trees fallen over the road, blocking access for many hours. No one sees or hears them fall, but yet they persist in blocking the roadway. What does this even mean? Maybe something like;the fallen tree blocking the road has resulted in more one to one chat within the delayed car. Or for driver only cars also blocked by fallen tree which persists despite no one seeing or hearing it fall. There could be rage or even acceptance of situation. One time during one of these events,it was entertaining watching as someone produced a chainsaw, making short work of clearing the road, very impressive. No real meaning in any of this, other than,we don't expect the unexpected, but how do we cope with that. Some enrage, some observe passively, other display their resilence, others turn car around and go home. Life?- 87 replies

Methods to turn sleep into cultivation?
AussieTrees replied to Uroboros's topic in General Discussion
About a week ago I did a test drive of my lower back. It is always tentative after so much fragility. Anyway got this pile of rocks, gifted. So tried some paving, never tried that before, lots of fun. Back held up ok,sucking in chi from all around made light work. Point is,slept really well, woke up fresh, back still good. Dreams occurred, don't remember much, like another sorty in life. Seems physical exercise before bed may help in sleep quality. -

Hi Stosh, and thankyou to dwai. "If I can't help but reflect the circumstances of my upbringing, then what I say or do may just be physical consequence of past situation." No we can't help where or when or what circumstances of our birth and upbringing. Yes these events do have proclivities to the young child. Yet as we grow,at some point we also learn to make choices, which unfolds as idiosyncratic life experience. We choose to expand on our upbringing, and now with insight and compassion,we can help. Impermanence of proclivities is inevitable, although with some this is a slow process if not impossible.- 87 replies

People are units of energy, with many mysterious elements, eg mind, thought, self, none of which we are able to definitively point at. We are the awareness of our planet parent, nurtured on stardust over the millennia. Fill in the gaps as you please.- 87 replies

Practical ways to let go of attachment?

and when you are ready, just let go: -
Got a fishing boat years ago. Never really caught much, mostly none caught, sometimes one or two fish. Still got the boat, don't go out much. Happy for fish to stay in the water and be fish. Impermanence is everywhere.

Thoughtfulness, then 'use your words',can have very positive impact. Maybe so effective,no need for combat.
