  6. Is there some sort of encyclopedia?

"Is it to have a more philosophical base, a spiritual base, an energetic practice, an energetic exchange (transmission vs reception), a deity recognition, etc" After discarding religious associations there developers a disconnect no base and no way to communicate.following the path of the dao helps to restore communication with energy, spirit and body.
  7. One Hundred Words Poem Of Master Lu Dong Bin: (this is a very much simplified version) 1. Cultivate Qi, forget speech, 2. Quiet heart, act effortlessly. 3. In movement and stillness know your true self, 4. There is nothing to want for; who is searching? 5. The eternal self must respond to the world, 6. When responding, don’t get attached and lost. 7. If not lost, mind dwells on itself, 8. When mind is settled, Qi returns. 9. When Qi returns, Dan Tian is reconstituted; 10. Fire and water arise in the center of the cauldron, 11. Yin Yang are continually reborn, 12. The mundane is transformed in one clap of thunder. 13. White cloud rises to head’s top, 14. Sweet dew sprinkles the celestial mountain. 15. Drink the wine of immortality, 16. Be at leisure; who is going to care. 17. Sit and listen to string-less melody, 18. Gain understanding through Nature’s secrets. 19. This poem is in 20 lines, 20. Now it’s up to you to climb the heaven’s ladder. http://fiveimmortals.com/wudang-tao/wudang-internal/

The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal TaoThe name that can be named is not the eternal name The nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth The named is the mother of myriad things Thus, constantly free of desire One observes its wonders Constantly filled with desire One observes its manifestations These two emerge together but differ in name The unity is said to be the mystery Mystery of mysteries, the door to all wonders http://www.taoism.net/ttc/chapters/chap01.htm
  12. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 12

Intensities can be intense energy consuming, and dulling the senses. So can the mundane, remember what happened to the Macca's guy who ate three meals a day at Maccas. He became ill with excess. To much of anything is just that to much. To much:beer, wine, salami, pizza, religion, sex, drugs,or just about every has a balance yes even doughnuts and cream buns. Beware of the mundane to much can be unbalancing.
  13. Who am I?

Language fails,we use 'I'to identify self body,I I I I express my views,to conform within groups, yet this is not a singular view. The term we use to identify ourselves does not give a full description of the universality within, mind body connections with external energies of the earth,Sky,and all living things in between, the sun, moon and the whole universe. It takes much time to acclimatise and grow within the physical body, the life spirit is not accustomed to the physical realm. This 'I'unit is running amok,ok,I will shut my pie hole,it was just a thought bubble of what is going wrong with the 'I'.

Using the breath to circulate energy, can you circulate energy without attaching it to breathing? Energy circulates much faster when unbridled.
  15. The Hidden Life of Trees

Hi Gerard, Plantation trees are grown world wide to use for many wooden products. This is a renewable energy source that has been in use since discovering fire. Warm house timber floor, wood fireplace, dugout canoe so many things. The old growth forest never been cut are rare, some old regrow the forest, these should be protected. Sadly in Victoria we still harvest pristine environments despite protests.

  18. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 11

Derek Lin provides some easy to understand interpretations as a starting point. http://www.taoism.net/ttc/chapters/chap11.htm Tao Te Ching Translation and Interpretation by Derek Lin Chapter 11 Thirty spokes join in one hub In its emptiness, there is the function of a vehicle Mix clay to create a container In its emptiness, there is the function of a container Cut open doors and windows to create a room In its emptiness, there is the function of a room Therefore, that which exists is used to create benefit That which is empty is used to create functionality Interpretation In a wheel, thirty spokes come together in one hub. The hole in the center of the hub - the place where it is empty - is what makes the wheel useful as part of a vehicle. This is our first hint that there is more to emptiness than meets the eyes. When we mix clay to create a container, we notice that it is the empty space in the center of the container that gives it the usefulness of holding things. We may assume it is the substance of the container that makes it a container, but it's actually the lack of substance in the middle that allows the container to function as such. When we cut open a wall to make space for windows and doors, we notice that it is these openings that make the room truly useful to us. If such openings did not exist, we would have no way of accessing the room! Therefore, we can see how we create solid objects to provide us with benefits and convenience, but it is actually the emptiness formed by, or embedded in such objects that really provide them with functionality and usefulness.
  19. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 10

Tao Te Ching Translation, Interpretation and Notes by Derek Lin Chapter 10 In holding the soul and embracing oneness Can one be without straying? In concentrating the energy and reaching relaxation Can one be like an infant? In cleaning away the worldly view Can one be without imperfections? In loving the people and ruling the nation Can one be without manipulation? In the heavenly gate's opening and closing Can one hold to the feminine principle? In understanding clearly all directions Can one be without intellectuality? Bearing it, rearing it Bearing without possession Achieving without arrogance Raising without domination This is called the Mystic Virtue Interpretation In holding to your inner essence and embracing the oneness of your being, can your mind avoid being distracted, and thus going astray? In focusing on your chi (the "breath", or the living energy that courses through the body) and reaching a relaxed, softened state, can you identify with the purity of a newborn child? In cleansing and getting rid of all the diversions of the materialistic panorama, can you be completely without any lingering attachments? In caring for the people and governing a nation, can you administer without resorting to manipulative tricks? When the gateway to the soul opens, the mind is in motion; when it closes, the mind at rest. In the opening and closing of this gateway, can you grasp the yin principle of serenity and quietude? In approaching a true understanding that reaches out in all directions and encompasses all corners of the world, can you let go of the false knowledge gained through rationalization and intellectual sophistry? The Tao gives birth to everything and nurtures everything, but does so without becoming possessive. Creation is full of wondrous and marvelous works of nature. The Tao is the force behind them, and yet does not become presumptuous in such achievements. It gives life every chance to develop and thrive, and yet does not become domineering or controlling because of that. We call this attribute the Mystic Virtue. Sages emulate it in their every action. They nurture, encourage, teach and mentor those around them without the need to possess, gloat, or dominate. Notes The line "Can one be without straying?" refers to straying from the path of centered oneness. Some translations render "straying" as "separation" or "division," thus obscuring the original meaning and making the line more difficult to understand. The line "In loving the people and ruling the nation" may seem to be directed at kings and emperors, but actually addresses the individual as well. Think of a kingdom as a metaphor for your workplace, family, social circle, sports team, and even your immediate surroundings, and the practical utility of this section becomes clear. http://www.taoism.net/ttc/chapters/chap10.htm

  21. lobotomy via psychiatry!

The story goes something like,Jackie (not his real name)a 'chinaman'was admitted to a psychiatric asylum back in the 1930's,well in those days this asylum was run more like a farm, diary cows pigs raised for slaughter, veggies grown to supply the hospital kitchens, all worked by the unpaid labor of those people's deemed mentally ill and committed to the institution. Well Jackie improved and was seen to be natural gardener, growing perfect vegetables in the year before he managed to escape, freedom.Sadly Jackie was returned to the asylum after only a few days, and was once again put to work in the veggie garden. Jackie worked and lived within the asylum and remained a keen gardener, producing consistent vegetable crops for the next five years.Until an interpreter happened by chance talk with Jackie. It was then they realised, that this person Jackie who had escaped, had indeed escaped, because the Jackie who grew veggies for five years was someone else, yes he was also a 'chinaman'but his name was Chan.
  22. lobotomy via psychiatry!

Does anyone know what a ha ha wall is? The old style asylum were grand buildings, with extensive gardens with large oak trees lining the road leading to main buildings and wards, each Ward generally had an open area where inpatients would be offered the access to the outdoors, the court yards were often sloping downwards to the substantial brick fence often over 15-20foot high at the bottom of the slope. On the other side of the brick wall was only 3-4 foot in height,so it was easy to look into the court yards from the outside, but from the inside the wall was high. Anyway the term 'haha wall'was coined after many of those viewing the courtyards from the outside were seen to point at the mentally ill person behaving in an odd manner and laugh.
  23. lobotomy via psychiatry!

Before modern day drugs they had no drugs so called medication, and the result was to build large institution where you could live, had to live,as society at the time of say 100 years ago was intolerant of the mentally ill.So they created the asylum, large institutions of long term stay housing 600 to 1000 inpatients, for the worst of uncontrollable behaviours all they had were cells, padded or otherwise. Most if not all of these institutions are now closed because in the 1950's someone crack it with the use of these drugs. Few or any of these people got healed through using any other method. And they tried everything. Today's psych drugs still have potential for side effects, much less so as they are improving all the time. No I agree that's not perfect, but it does offer respite from madness. PS:Does anyone know what a ha ha wall is?

That cars for ya,best wishes.
