Sunya does not mean emptiness in KS. Sunya is often used to describe deep sleep which is far from the goal in KS. Sunyata in Buddhism is different than the term Sunya in KS. Independent self nature is the basics of emptiness. Like saying there is no fire without wood and air. More like an intellectual understanding. Thank you for the conversation dwai, clearly our understandings are different and no reason to rehash old talks that go nowhere. All the best.

Thank you my friend but you still are not answering my questions. KS does not believe in emptiness like Buddhism. I thought the Physical Universe was an illusion in AV.. now it is real just like in KS? Thank you, I looked up the Mańdukya Upanishad and I see nothing on emptiness or potential as is being discussed here. Maybe I missed it and you can point it out. This is the closest I got.
-
Thank you, You do know that is a unique view don't you? In AV what manifests and what is a physical universe? Also, can you provide me a reference to the causal body being emptiness and full of potentiality? The closest I have found is this. Siddharameshwar Maharaj, the guru of Nisargadatta Maharaj, also describes the causal body as characterized by "emptiness", "ignorance" and "darkness".[3] In the search for the "I am", this is a state where there is nothing to hold on to anymore. That doesn't sound like Buddhist emptiness like you are using.. More sounds like moving beyond the local "I". As described here.. The Indian tradition identifies it with the Anandamaya kosha,[web 1] and the deep sleep state, as mentioned in the Mandukya Upanishad, where buddhi becomes dormant and all concepts of time fail.

Thank you dwai but that didn't answer my question Let me ask it a different way. Is the One both emptiness and awareness at the same time? No difference?
-
So the One is the "I" like in Dwai? Brahman is emptiness which is awareness of awareness? That which is beyond the "I" aka Dwai?
-
What is the being-ness of Shakti in AV if the world is an illusion? What does is available mean? If all there is, is Brahman and the world is an illusion, all others are an illusion what are you aware of?

Here is an easy one.

Moving on,

Okay, here is my take. I agree the home is the local body-mind. The reference to the sword thrusting into the wall and his hand going through for me sounds like cutting through. Cutting through the obstructions or the powerful attachments to that local mind-body. Interesting that it isn't the sword that needs to go through the wall but his hand, he has to move beyond the wall himself. Thank you for bring up the meek, for one caught up in being powerful can never go through the wall. You have to let go of all of that.

98 is a tough one.

97. Jesus said, "The [Father's] kingdom is like a woman who was carrying a [jar] full of meal. While she was walking along [a] distant road, the handle of the jar broke and the meal spilled behind her [along] the road. She didn't know it; she hadn't noticed a problem. When she reached her house, she put the jar down and discovered that it was empty." While her mind was silent and not focused on things she had no worries. It is when you start to focus on the "things" the contents and what one may have or may be losing/attaching to, that is when you start to have problems.

Just trying to respect the OP is all. Maybe whitesilk will chime in with some thoughts on the various topics raised.

Well let's discuss.. maybe in a new thread since we have already had people say we derailed this one.

I'm not upset with you Illumairen nor did I take your posts in a negative light. Maybe I am judging and as you pointed out maybe I am judging myself even more. Glad you found the topic interesting.
-
I am not a Buddhist, so maybe they would think you are crazy.. I would just disagree with you. It is there tradition and beliefs, I just respect them.
-
I wasn't trying to judge. The topic was smoking so I used that as an example of the underlying desire/attachment as an example. Yes, I am familiar with the addiction to smoking but really any attachment could be used to replace it as I pointed out earlier. Buddhism is very clear on the topic. I highly doubt you would see the Buddhist accepting someone as a Buddha that smoked a half pack a day. I understand if people disagree.

How do I gain weight and gain fat in a healthy way?

Only because my wife is a great cook and spoils me -
No they are much, much different. Heck the realization of a Jivenmukta is different based on the tradition, KS and AV are perfect examples of that. I have a meeting at the moment but maybe someone else can answer your question while I am gone.

Pleasure or bliss is often taught as something that someone has to let go of. The Buddha talked about it often.
-
Didn't realize I have cast aspersions on anyone. Did I mention anyone by name? All I am doing is going off of my experience of desires, issues and fears, letting them go and progressing along the path. I have no desire or goal to be a jivanamukta. That is not my path. All the best to you Dwai.
-
I would have to agree with Jeff's post. Your view sounds like excuses to me. He smokes crack every day but it's okay, he isn't addicted and a jivanamukta. He just likes it because he prefers it over cigs or scotch. All good it's all none binding but he is a badass guru who we should all listen to. Really?
-
Or you could say karmic obstructions carried over into this lifetime. Sure there are people born with addictions to let's say crack from their parents. Does that mean they will always be addicted? An enlightened being in Hinduism is beyond the Vasanas are they not? Depending on the tradition the world is an illusion. This body is of this world, your consciousness and this body are not two separate things, it is all the energy of Shakti, of you. Such addictions of the body and still being enlightened as you present it would also say that there are vasanas that one can't move beyond. Interesting theory.
-
Not at all. You could replace smoking with the desire to be right in forums or to fight a wrong or to respond to negative comments. While not an addiction there is a desire that motivates the behavior. I have found driving and forums are excellent examples of noticing such attachments.

One of the aspects of the Primordial State is Clarity. This goes back to the old debate, does a Buddha have a favorite tea cup. No, they are all perfect as they are. He may choose a bigger one because he wants more to drink without having to refill it. A smaller one for when he just wants a little to drink.
