  1. What are the qualification and how is such an evaluation done?
  2. Thank you for pointing out the differences. Here are some more from KS.
  3. The quote and topic was about a guru, directly inserting knowledge (siddhis) and how they can be used. Sure it can happen to anyone. Just like anyone can get struck by lighting. I personally would recommend the guru over just walking around hoping it will happen.
  4. I think it is much different than just feeling the presence of someone. Here is an example:
  5. Thank you. I see where I was confusing One like Siva with other concepts..
  6. Thank you. Now I am not saying one is right or wrong. AV - World is not real- only One Brahman. KS - World is real - Infinite number of Brahmans/Sivas. A good starting point to how they are different. I would also hope that the inquisitive mind would like to know how KS is non dual and how there can be so many Sivas. Again showing how each tradition IS different it it’s beliefs and therefore results.
  7. No, I didn’t. “Read my point about what is considered "real" and what "unreal" per Indian traditions of philosophy (including buddhism). Anything that has permanent self-existence is Real. Anything that is not (depends on another) is unreal. This has nothing to do with the existence OR non-existence of that which is "unreal". “ So again the world is unreal based on this? Simple yes or no is fine. Brahman, is there more than one? Yes or no is fine. Not sure why you are making this complicated.
  8. Okay, so the world is unreal for the first question. Maybe we can agree that it is an illusion? The second one wasn’t what I asked. I asked if in AV if you can be One like Brahman. With your answer I am thinking the answer is no. There is only Brahman. Did I miss anything?
  9. I am looking for understanding from someone who says they have a deeper knowledge than I do. I am asking you to answer my 3 simple questions. The questions are not meant as a trap.
  10. Your previous quote seemed out of context and didn’t really show what it was talking about. Going off of every previous post the world is not real but an illusion. Not sure why you won’t answer the questions.
  11. Now I am really confused. In AV is the world real or not? Is it an illusion or not? Is there only Brahman or can we each be just like Brahman? If you can provide me a simple answer with some scripture I would appreciate it.
  12. One has thoughts when you are writing or speaking for example. It isn’t about stopping or thinking out their thoughts it is about the clarity of them. like seeing a flower for the beauty it is without any mental judgments of it being old, small, wrong color or not your favorite type of flower. They are all perfect as they are.
  13. Shakti and Shiva, one and the same
  14. I was asking you directly about your previous post to me. I agree with it Samadhi earlier was defined as silence. Is that what clarity is, silence alone?
  15. Isn't it all just energy?
  16. So, back to my first question to you. Do you agree with that?
  17. I would disagree Spotless. Thoughts are just flows of energy that one can attach to. Clarity is a part of ones being and to say you only have clarity when you have no thoughts is not something I agree with. Such ideas then would say that while he was writing, teaching the above he wasn't in Samadhi. That to me isn't Samadhi.
  18. Who is jumping to conclusions? This is directly from the text. " Every instant free from thoughts and musings in the wakeful state is the condition of samâdhi. 87. “Samâdhi is simply absence of thoughts. Such a state prevails in sleep and at odd moments of wakefulness." Silence = Samadhi stated pretty firmly right there. ' “Anyway when once interruptions in the stream of Intelligence are admitted, it follows that these intervals between the various modifications of the intellect into objects, would represent its unmodified, original state. O son of Kahoela, know that if one can become aware of these broken samadhis no other samâdhi need attract one.” Is this not teaching that samadhi is the gap between thoughts? What am I missing? Also, my friend if you think I am missing something wouldn't it be better to point it out than to assume something negative about my intentions? This is the hindu section and if it is the belief of this tradition I am okay with it. Just asking a question.
  19. It seems he is saying both to me.
  20. Do you believe this to be true? That basically silence is the goal and thoughts are bad?
  21. Gospel of Thomas

Heaven and earth are one and the same. You don't understand that presence, that oneness because you haven't realized what truly the present moment is. If you truly knew in your being you too would know.
  22. I do, I was referring to conversations I have had with people about AV and Buddhism
  23. From reading your posts my friend it seems that AV is the same as KS just bigger and better. It is just ignorant to think there are differences even if KS masters clearly state over and over again that there are major differences in the systems and the ultimate realization. So, the argument becomes they just didn't fully understand AV but once you do you will see that you are wrong and just misinformed. No matter what tradition you compare AV too.
  24. I think the various teachings show the differences. You are right it isn't about thinking, it is about being. When one has truly realized or gone beyond local mind they can share it which is what KS is all about. On the other side of the debate just saying they are the same is not the same as proving they are the same. Texts have been put forth to show the differences, then quickly ignored to say.. no.. they are the same. For example your void is not the same as Siva as has been shown.
  25. Is it just me or do those who follow AV seem to be like what? AV says the same thing as KS, Oh yeah, AV say's the same thing as Buddhism. AV seems to have turned in to a catch all for some. So either they are saying that KS was just a misguided attempt by some teachers slandering AV to create there own little lineage or those saying it is the same thing are wrong. Which is it?
