  1. The three discoveries

You are putting a lot of words in my mouth. I call myself a friend.
  2. The three discoveries

You know what assume means right? Sorry couldn't help myself..
  3. The three discoveries

That is ego. Compassion is compassion. I can initiate all I want but true being is being. Doing is of ego.. Just let the light do what needs to be done, not what you think needs to be done. I for one have felt blessed for the help I have received and continue to receive. Higher, lower is never part of the equation.
  4. The three discoveries

That he does what? People ask for help and he lets them know what is going on with them? You don't see him doing anything to them to help them without permission do you? No, you won't find anyone saying that he has.
  5. The three discoveries

That is just dumb. Just because you may feel ecstatic energy doesn't mean it is my fault or that it is bad. That feeling is energy hitting ones obstruction. As one clears away the obstructions that feeling goes away because it has nothing to hit. As a matter of fact the way beyond it is to not grasp at the feeling of the energy. Once you do so the energy stops, you are now back in the mind. Just like in meditation. I am married and I don't work in some sensual sexual path. If you want to believe a post that left the member so embarrassed that he left the bums over it. Be my guest. If you had any integrity you would find out for yourself instead of posting such dumb shit. Your call
  6. The three discoveries

I never do anything, ever without permission. Ask anyone that has ever worked with me.
  7. The three discoveries

It is a knowing and I have never ever known Jeff to be wrong.
  8. The three discoveries

I don't care about astral body stuff. It was in reference to an earlier post. 3rd eye sight is just part of the ongoing process of spiritual development. Lots of danger of getting lost and most people stop at this stage. What is the purpose? That depends on your goal doesn't it?

Hi Roger, if you look look at the description of Rigpa here https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/43943-rigpa/#comment-748463 you will notice you are residing in the movement of energy which is thoughts. That residing in the energy, as a fish leaping in the movement is described as Rigpa. Notice it is a residing in the energy. That to me is dualistic, you have not moved beyond to also be that movement of energy in my experience. Hope that explains why I am saying it is dualistic.
  10. The three discoveries

That everything is energy/light. The first discovery: You are more than your body, things aren't merely physical matter. (You realize the energy/light) The second discovery: Perception is not reality, you are not what you think you are. (You are able to move beyond thoughts or to reside in the energy of thoughts. aka rigpa.) Notice this is still dualistic... The third discovery: The recognition of the true nature of things, self-realization. (More it is not a recognition but a realization or becoming truly that light is when one moves beyond the local mind.) This is also beyond seeing with the 3rd eye or any astral body type stuff. That is the local mind translating the light filtered through our obstructions, our ego, issues and fears. True clarity is beyond seeing it is a knowing. A huge step along the path.
  11. Mo Pai and John Chang

People with abilities are all over you this forum. I know that they have helped a lot different people as well. It has nothing to do with abilities but more the attitude of certain members in my view.
  12. Mo Pai and John Chang

As someone who doesn't give a damn about MP one way or another I would say that is far from true. People have tried over and over again to have civil conversations about MP. This is the type of stuff that leads conversations down hill and doesn't reflect well on the tradition and it's members. To the OP, I hope you find your answer and good luck.
  13. Solar plexus blockage

    Good post and worth repeating.
  14. Learning to surf the Ocean of energy

    Nice song
  15. Gospel of Thomas

Moving on, 49. Jesus said, "Congratulations to those who are alone and chosen, for you will find the kingdom. For you have come from it, and you will return there again."
  16. Gospel of Thomas

Moving on, 48. Jesus said, "If two make peace with each other in a single house, they will say to the mountain, 'Move from here!' and it will move."
  17. What exactly is emptiness?

I am no expert but I will take a swing at some of this. If I am wrong I am sure someone will come around and correct me. I often see Sunyata explained in different ways just as you mentioned it but also think of it as changing as one progresses in depth. First, is the dependent arising. A fire can't be a fire without the wood so therefore the fire is dependant upon the wood and is empty of self nature. If you look at all things they are all dependent upon something else, hence empty. Think of that as the mental, thinking aspect of sunyata to help one get an understanding. Next one starts to experience emptiness and this is first done with thoughts. One gets to the point where thoughts become flows of energy and one can reside in the empty nature of that energy, which is thoughts. That residing in the movement of thoughts is what is referred to as Rigpa. That movement of energy isn't just thoughts, it is also everything, all things are energy/light. When one realizes that there form is that energy, that they are that energy, they have realized emptiness of self. At this point one is still within the local mind, still can get caught up in obstructions but they are able to reside in Rigpa and in my experience able to share that realization of oneness that comes with emptiness of self. (That last part isn't a Buddhist belief). As one continues to progress they move from emptiness of self to emptiness of Ultimate reality. They move beyond the local mind. As mentioned earlier I said all things are light, one way I think of that is light is empty, there is no thing within the light. So as one moves to Emptiness of Ultimate reality that is where one becomes a Buddha as one moves beyond consciousness/light which in many traditions is what all things are. It is more like one is the source in which all things/light arises from and returns to. So where some traditions talk of emptiness as the void, silence Buddhism takes is a little farther to include all of reality.
  18. Gospel of Thomas

Good stuff! Moving on if that is ok, 47. Jesus said, "A person cannot mount two horses or bend two bows. And a slave cannot serve two masters, otherwise that slave will honor the one and offend the other. Nobody drinks aged wine and immediately wants to drink young wine. Young wine is not poured into old wineskins, or they might break, and aged wine is not poured into a new wineskin, or it might spoil. An old patch is not sewn onto a new garment, since it would create a tear."
  19. Gospel of Thomas

I think you nailed it. 46. Jesus said, "From Adam to John the Baptist, among those born of women, no one is so much greater than John the Baptist that his eyes should not be averted. But I have said that whoever among you becomes a child will recognize the (Father's) kingdom and will become greater than John."
  20. Gospel of Thomas

Great answers. 45. Jesus said, "Grapes are not harvested from thorn trees, nor are figs gathered from thistles, for they yield no fruit. Good persons produce good from what they've stored up; bad persons produce evil from the wickedness they've stored up in their hearts, and say evil things. For from the overflow of the heart they produce evil."
  21. Gospel of Thomas

Very nice Apech, 44. Jesus said, "Whoever blasphemes against the Father will be forgiven, and whoever blasphemes against the son will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the holy spirit will not be forgiven, either on earth or in heaven."
  22. Gospel of Thomas

It's just the way the thread has gone. Post, get some responses and then it tends to die out. Rinse and repeat. Been thinking of reviving the thread for weeks and decided to go ahead and do it.
  23. Gospel of Thomas

Moving on, 43. His disciples said to him, "Who are you to say these things to us?" "You don't understand who I am from what I say to you. Rather, you have become like the Judeans, for they love the tree but hate its fruit, or they love the fruit but hate the tree."
  24. Gospel of Thomas

Reminds me of the Tibetan saying "Be the sky."
