Hi Sudhamma, I would say Jesus was awakened from the same thing the Buddha was As for Yahweh, yes I would agree that he is a Buddha. If you have ever felt their presence, become one with them you would have no doubt. I believe this saying from GOT explains it all. 50. Jesus said, "If they say to you, 'Where have you come from?' say to them, 'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.' If they say to you, 'Is it you?' say, 'We are its children, and we are the chosen of the living Father.' If they ask you, 'What is the evidence of your Father in you?' say to them, 'It is motion and rest.'" Not really sure what you are asking here. Bodhisattva is beyond a disciple, master or an arhat. It is a being who has realized true Wisdom. Respect, love from an open heart is not attachment. Bodhichitta is again an open heart and the vow is important. It is that helping others which moves one beyond the light past cessation or stopping at that stage of being. I don't think you will find anyone saying bodhichitta is an attachment. I previously answered that but this is what the Buddha did, did he not? Are you suggesting the Buddha had attachments? Can you explain why you find it self-contradictory? Well I didn't write it but what they are referring to is ultimate emptiness and some of what that Wisdom is like with that realization.

I think when people talk about the heart we are talking about different levels of depth. First is the heart opening and when one has a big one there is no doubt it is amazing. I know when mine opened I was filled with so much joy and love that it was overflowing. I have written post about "Are you Happy" because the joy from that opening is something that has never left me. The heart when it opens is also that which allows for one to start feeling energy within themselves and from others. It is the most important chakra to open if you ask me. When one is able to feel energy from others we often here them talking about bad energy or low vibrational energy from others. What they are often experiencing is the shared issues from others. The other person has an obstruction and because they share it the energy you could say is getting stuck, heavy or doesn't feel good. It is an opportunity to work within oneself not to distance themselves from others... I will admit sometimes it can be to much and distance isn't always a bad thing. It is those moments when people talk about how the guru is everything, all around me.. it is that energy that doesn't feel good that is telling what we need to work on. If you don't share the issue the energy just flows through us, non attaching and blissful. A deeper meaning of the Heart is often missed because we are focused within ourselves and our body, still trapped by objects and things. Abhinavagupta explains what the true meaning of the heart is in The Heart of Siva. The Heart, says Abhinavagupta, is the very Self of Siva, of Bhairava, and of the Devi, the Goddess who is inseparable from Siva. Indeed, the Heart is the site of their union (yamala), of their embrace (samghatta). This abode is pure consciousness (caitanya) as well as unlimited bliss (ananda). As consciousness the Heart is the unbounded, infinite light (prakasa) as well as the freedom (svatantrya) and spontaneity (vimarsa) of that light to appear in a multitude and variety of forms. The Heart, says Abhinavagupta, is the sacred fire-pit of Bhairava.1 The Heart is the Ultimate (anuttara) which is both utterly transcendent to (visvottirna) and yet totally immanent in (visvamaya) all created things. It is the ultimate essence (sara).

I would say that Jesus is a Buddha. To me a Bodhisattva is not someone who does nice things or lives by some precepts. This to me is a Bodhisattva From the Avatamsaka Sutra... Great bodhisattvas have no attachment to Buddha and do not develop attachments; they have no attachment to the teachings and do not develop attachments; they have no attachment to lands and do not develop attachments; they have no attachments to sentient beings and do not develop attachments. They do not see that there are sentient beings, yet they carry on educational activity, civilizing and teaching ways of liberation; they do not give up the practices of bodhisattvas with great compassion and great commitment. Seeing buddhas and hearing their teachings, they act accordingly; trusting the buddhas they plant roots of goodness, ceaselessly honoring and serving them. They are able to shake infinite worlds in the ten directions by spiritual powers; their minds are broad, being equal to the cosmos. They know various explanations of truth, they know how many sentient beings there are, they know the differences among sentient beings, they know the birth of suffering, they know the extinction of suffering; while knowing all acts are like reflected images, they carry out the deeds of bodhisattvas. They sever the root of all subjection to birth. They carry out practices of bodhisattvas for the sole purpose of saving sentient beings and yet do not practice anything. Conforming to the essential nature of all buddhas, they develop a mind like an immense mountain. They know all falsehood and delusion, and enter the door of omniscience. Their knowledge and wisdom are broad and vast and unshakable, due to the attainment of true enlightenment. This is the insight of practical knowledge of equally saving all sentient beings in the ocean of birth and death.

I would disagree that saints are bodhisattvas. Did the Pope teach the dharma? Did he take refuge in the 3 Jewels? Did he teach the path to Buddhahood? Did he teach that all things are self arising and the kingdom of Heaven is under the rocks and within them? No he did not. Maybe he was a nice guy and did a lot of good but that does not make one a bodhisattva.

To me a true Teacher is one who's presence alone can help move the student along. By presence I mean on who doesn't need to give meditation or pranayama techniques to help others experience deeper states of being. -

From the Triadic Heart of Siva Pg 125. The notion of visarga, translated as Emissional Power, constitutes a central and essential component of the meaning of the Heart.17 Let us begin our examination of the notion of visarga by quoting Abhinavagupta's initial exposition of the term in the PTlv; The knowing subject has as its essence the supremely subtle vibration of the Self. It is characterized by knowedge and action, and its nature is one of contraction and expansion, that is, opening and closing. It is not like a pot, and so on, which is inert, limited and stationary. The more this combination of expansion and contraction becomes evident in the vibration of the Heart, of the triangle, etc., the more does the subjectivity become elevated, until it reaches the consciousness of Bhairava. Conversely, the more the expansion and contraction diminish, the more does the subjectivity fall until it becomes inert like a stone etc. This expansion and contraction is the characteristic of the visarga, whose essence is freedom, that is, the very power of the Lord, of the Ultimate. Therefore, the phoneme If, the visarga, is termed the Rudra- yamala, the Rudra-dyad, because it consists of both the supreme Siva and sakti, of the rest and activity which constitute the union of Bhairava with his Beloved." In Abhinavagupta's teachings about the Kaula method, the term visarga has a wide signification. Here,it comes to name that power( known alternatively as the kauliki sakti, the Devi, the nada) that is responsible for emitting the universe in all its glorious variety. Equally important, it names the power that must be harnessed by the tantric yogin to continue the arc of manifestation as it doubles back on the journey of return to Siva. This power may be thought of as an impelling force (iccha-sakti) that at one and the same time continuously pushes everything out into being, and continuously absorbs it all back into Siva. This power in the Heart, which is the Goddess, and which is named the visarga, is at once centrifugal (pravrtti), that is, Emissional and expansive, as well as cen- tripetal (nivrtti), that is, absorptive and unitive.20 This expansion and contraction forms a kind of "alternating current" of spiritual power which may be tapped by the yogin in various ways. The "expansive" mode may be employed for the further manifestation of desires in the external or subtle worlds (bhoga, phala), or, during the farther reaches of the sadhana, for the establishment of the experience of non-duality even in outward perceptions. The "contractive" mode connects the yogin to the inwardly ascending force that effortlessly propels the yogin to rest in absorption (samavesa-visranti) in his own unbounded, original consciousness. Here, the infinitely fast vibration of consciousness allows the re-emergence of the state of Bhairava, the state of liberation in this very life. -

Hi dwai, It sounds more like you are describing emptiness of self. Silence being an aspect of the void but often associated with to much energy and not the middle way. One does think to talk or to write a post such as this. You also mentioned nirvikalpa samadhi but isn't that which is experienced during meditation? Sahaja samadhi would be more like Rigpa where one can have thoughts or no thoughts they are like the ocean waves and flow through without attachment. Yet emptiness of self is not just of the mind. It is a realization that you are not this form, that not only is your thoughts and feelings energy but your body as well. It is this realization where one has realized oneness and within KS one would be considered a liberated master with the ability for instance of inserting knowledge into others. Even still at this point one is still not one with Siva nor have they realized that all things are self arising aka the realization of Ultimate Emptiness a Buddha, Christ or an Immortal.

Only for the one that is like Siva. Yet that being maybe married, like to have debates like the Buddha did for instance. Surely such a being isn't demented and just talking to himself with all that oneness. The key is one can become one like Siva, not cease into Siva... if one can become like Siva that others can become like Siva. If others can become one like Siva then one can help others move along the path. While the ultimate truth may be we are each one like Siva, that realization is obscured. A guru, a master of the energies is one that can help remove those obstructions which can seem like inserting knowledge. He does so because he has realized oneness and it is that sharing of his presence his being that does the work. To never look outside yourself for help or assistance is an obstruction in itself.

The Heart is the fullness and unboundedness of Siva (purnatva), the plenum of being that overflows continuously into manifestation. At the same time, it is also an inconceivable emptiness (sunyatisunya).2 The Heart is the unbounded and universal Self (purnahanta). The Heart of Siva is not a static or inert absolute, however. In fact, the non-dual Kashmir Shaiva tradition considers it to be in a state of perpetual movement, a state of vibration (spanda)3 in which it is continuously contracting and expanding (samkoca-vikasa), opening and closing (unmesa-nimesa), trembling (ullasita), quivering (sphurita), throbbing, waving, and sparkling (ucchalata). The intensity and speed of this move ment is such that paradoxically it is simultaneously a perfect dynamic stillness.4 The tradition states that the Heart is the enormous ocean (ambunidhi), the ocean of light, the ocean of consciousness. The waters of consciousness that in man are broken by countless polarizing and divisive waves (urmi) may be easily brought to a state of dynamic stillness by the process of immersion or absorption (samdvesa) in the Heart.

Still learning this stuff but to the best of my understanding. "The state of khecari is the state of Lord Siva, who is the supreme embodiment of consciousness." Khecari is not about sitting and doing some pranayama or meditation technique. Real Khecari Mudra is "becoming one with supreme consciousness." If you see it a different way please let me know.

When this pure knowledge (suddha vidya), which has been explained in previous sutras, effortlessly comes into existence and when, by the supreme independent will of Lord Siva, these limited powers subside and that real state of Lord Siva comes into being, then this yogi flies in the ether of supreme knowledge. This is the state of khecari mudra that comes into existence for him. The state of khecari is the state of Lord Siva, who is the supreme embodiment of consciousness. Here the aspirant (sadhaka) becomes one with Siva. This is the rise of one's own blissful state. This khecari is not the khecari described in these two verses: When the yogi is seated in padmasana, he must put his mind, the master of all organs, in the center of the navel. He must sit erect until the time when the three ethers/voids, sakti, vyapini and samana, come into existence for him. Then immediately this yogi should infuse the supreme void by taking hold of these three voids. By practicing in this way, this yogi enters in the mudra of khecari. 'Siva Sutra 2.5 This state, described above, is not real khecari mudra. It should be avoided. What is real khecari mudra? When you are treading the way of totality (kulamargena), you must see the totality in a piece of the totality. Take one part of the universe and see the whole universe existing there. That is the way of totality. So, just as its said in the Tantrasadbhava, this khecari mudra is becoming one with supreme consciousness. .....So, the reality of this khecari mudra is just as it is explained in the Tantrasadbhava, "becoming one with supreme consciousness." And when the agitation of that differentiated illusion of Lord Siva fades into nothingness, then the power of all mantras and all mudras (states) appears and is experienced by such a yogi. This is said in Kulacudamani Sastra: When, by one germ of creative being and one germ of existence, this khecari mudra is created (mantra virya) and then established (mudra virya), and when these two states appear to this yogi, then he is established in that supreme and peaceful state of Lord Siva.
