Do you mind sharing more about this point? Is this like becoming a Buddha type reference or more like a subset of Siva or ???
-
Yes I was thinking the same thing.
-
Moving on to the next one. 41. Jesus said, "Whoever has something in hand will be given more, and whoever has nothing will be deprived of even the little they have."
-
Very well said my friend. I thought I was missing something there but just couldn't pull it out..

To me this is about ones state of mind. Whatever one does to the earth, the earth doesn't try to change things. It doesn't get caught up in needs, desires or trying to change anything. The wise are the same way.. they let it all flow through, not getting caught up in the mind. Think of the flow as the wind.. like a bellows That wind, that flow is energy and while it's shape may change to that of a chair, a car it's true form never changes. The more one is able to feel or better yet be one with the flow the more one is able to let go.. or to yield. It's not about the words but about the experience, the being. It takes practice, it doesn't all come at once so when troubles arise.. hold fast to that center and let it all flow through like the impartial earth. Like the Heavens.

Great discussion so far. Moving on to the next one if that is okay. Five Heaven and Earth are impartial; They see the ten thousand things as straw dogs. The wise are impartial; They see the people as straw dogs. The space between heaven and Earth is like a bellows. The shape changes but not the form; The more it moves, the more it yields. More words count less. Hold fast to the center.

I look at this one as to where someone finds the Father. You don't find him in books or outside of oneself. If that is where you are looking the the roots are weak and like the mind can be swayed or pulled and perish. Find the father within and the grapevine will no longer be planted apart from the Father.
-
If you are looking for similarities think of Buddhas, Shiva, Gods, etc.. They did not create the Tao but arose from it like everything else.

I admit I have never studied the TTC nor have I looked at various translations. What I have found is that various traditions are talking about the same truths to one degree or another. So for me the Tao is emptiness, void. The Ten thousand things is form. With what dawei was saying about water fits for me. Water is often a symbol for energy. Also talking about gods. First there was emptiness, all things including gods, beings, trees and dust arise from emptiness. The true nature of such things is emptiness.
-
The Tao is an empty vessel; it is used, but never filled. Oh, unfathomable source of ten thousand things! The Tao is emptiness which all things arise from. One can use the energy that is the ten thousand things but emptiness can never be filled.. Thought of as a thing. Blunt the sharpness, Untangle the knot, Soften the glare, Think of emotions.. Blunt the sharpness of anger or the automatic response Untangle the knot that is the obstruction that binds Soften the glare.. the anger and judgment Merge with dust. Oh, hidden deep but ever present! The Tao is the dust, hidden within it is the emptiness within form I do not know from whence it comes. It is the forefather of the emperors. The Tao is that which has always been.. Before man and things.

The next one for those still interested. FOUR The Tao is an empty vessel; it is used, but never filled. Oh, unfathomable source of ten thousand things! Blunt the sharpness, Untangle the knot, Soften the glare, Merge with dust. Oh, hidden deep but ever present! I do not know from whence it comes. It is the forefather of the emperors.

I was happy you brought it back to life. I enjoy going over the chapters and having a thread that was open to multiple interpretations was nice. I don't have the version of the TTC that was used so far but if you are interested, I use one from SFH that is well liked. Welcome to the boards

I hope you don't mind me bringing the thread back up Apech. 40. Jesus said, "A grapevine has been planted apart from the Father. Since it is not strong, it will be pulled up by its root and will perish."

Does anyone have the next chapter?

How about a firewall to keep ralis out?

You are aware that Mexico has proposed building a wall on its southern border as well? How about all the border walls that are going up in Europe? A wall does not make one a racist.

No you just have to watch the reporting. What they cover and what they don't report. Lots of bad information about Clinton right now and watch how they cover for her, defend it. Notice how every panel discussion is slanted liberal. If you wanna know about Trump watch CNN. If you wanna know about Clinton watch Fox. .

Hi shad282, The pain is often associated with a heart opening. Sounds like good things are happening. The fear is natural. I always thought of those thoughts as the ego not wanting to let go. Trying to hold me back almost like a game. So relax know good things are happening and when those fears arise just let them go and know what is arising is what is meant to be. That's what I do anyways. Good luck.

Then you should know all emails should have been turned over to the FBI already as well as all devices. These emails were found because she was archiving her emails to yahoo as well as correspondence to her husband. The computers and the emails all were under subpoena from two separate investigations if you want to get technical. Also if she shared any classified info with her husband she should go to jail.
-
What are you talking about? If I disagree with Obama am I a racist? Because I said the FBI is investigating Weiner and the laptops they turned over contained this data as part of an ongoing FBI seperate investigation this now makes me anti woman? Seriously? That sounds like hate speech towards anyone with an opposing view and a means of trying to stop any conversation that you don't agree with. This is standard liberal MSNBC playbook stuff to stop the conversation. Wake up. Also I think have maybe posted 2 or 3 times in this thread so your comments about me bashing on Hillary is way off base.
-
He broke precedent by informing the congress about the investigation during the election. It does not say the FBI didn't have the right to the emails which you had previously stated. Which is not against the law.
-
The emails in question was seized from laptops that were part of a separate investigation. Of course they have the right.

Recent Racist Trolling and Trolling against fundamentalism and morals
Jonesboy replied to TheWhiteRabbit's topic in The Rabbit Hole
My posts have been about harmony, not attacking others which is in line with the Dao. CHAPTER 71 In lacking knowledge and desire, one can obtain a simple and honest heart. The Sage is sick of dishonesty and desire, so he obtains a good and simple heart. In lacking knowledge, I mean turn away from advancement, and obtain the knowledge of the ways of nature. Living in harmony with nature, one doesn't need too much knowledge. But there will always be the intellectuals who will think they know. Simply be at one. -

Sionnach, A lesson for you.. CHAPTER 37 The Dao never acts, it nourishes the Ten Thousand Things and then all is left at one. Man always upsets this balance, for he constantly interferes. So the Ten Thousand Things must struggle against him. If they were left and man took his natural role in the World, there would be no struggle and everything would rise and fall naturally. It is because man desires to act and change things, that he creates imbalance within himself and all around him. If he lacked desire, then all would be well. Everything would enjoy simplicity and peace. In enjoying simplicity and peace, Man would be full; for then, is there any reason to act and change things? -

Do those same Taoist believe in throwing their beliefs in others face, causing disharmony and upsetting others? I don't really think that is what Taosim teaches even the anti-establishment type.
