  1. How can I get past, "...then what?"

'Set in ways' is often used as a slur. Indeed it is part of a philosophical invention that you have digested without realising it. These are the things that should be examined if you are prepared to do so. I would say that the wise are consistent in their thinking. Age is no guarantee of wisdom if it has not been encouraged. At 39 you are quite capable of evolving consistent thinking and from that will come wisdom-if you want it. Wisdom to some is a greater burden, they won't open their eyes to what they are afraid to see. That's for each to decide. Consistency of thinking is auto pilot (set in ways as you called it), but it must be cultivated. Youth has no consistency, it wishes to try anything and everything. It is packing away experience without thinking or distinction. Watch a baby at play, it looks to grab everything and chew it. The human mind is a learning machine. It's fast input at the beginning, later it should increase in discrimination. At 39 you are trying to make sense of it all. Is that not how you feel ? That your mind is crammed, but an impulse is telling you to cram even more and that the answer will somehow appear. In time you will begin to throw out the useless and stop cramming and unknow. Novelty is no longer attractive. With outside direction or perhaps by a combination of good self direction this will become apparent. Consistency of mind will reveal the world as you cannot yet know it, but it's there to be had.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc is the technical term. The confusion of temporal causality. 'Just because I wore this raincoat it stayed dry'
  3. How can I get past, "...then what?"

This is a complex thing that resolves partially through age. The younger you are the more automatic will be the response to stimulus and if the education system has imposed on you a Pavlovian action/reaction trained response then it becomes even more automatic. We can only hold around 7 chunks of information on our heads at any time. Try and visualise a 5 sided object such as a pentagon and this can be done, but something of a hundred sides is impossible. A tree is easy, but a million trees is impossible. To get around these limitations we hold gestalt packets of memory in the form of concepts and as subconscious action. It's easy to notice this if you consider the complexity needed to open a door. The amount of muscle movements, co-ordination and force required to consciously accomplish the task would be impossible. We store the gestalt programme for door opening and use inductive reasoning to apply the program to any number of different types and sizes of door. When a door of some unusual design is found, then we snap out of unconscious action and begin to problem solve. We take the gestalt concept of the door and combine it with other conceptual knowledge and the direct perception through our senses. Once the new door problem is solved it is added to the knowledge store. As we get older it becomes more difficult to solve these problems without a great deal more thought. Where as a young person is bounding along and taking in the new information rapidly. They are soaking up experience like a sponge. So, the less mature mind is less mindful because it has to be. The older mind develops a different type of ability and begins to re-asses the information that has been tucked away in gestalt concepts. This is the age of wisdom. It is said 'you cannot put an older head on younger shoulders'. What Tolle has investigated is just a natural phenomena of his own changing mind. It's more easy to be mindful when you are older than when you are younger. It appears to Tolle that he has made some great leap, but he is only experiencing the changes which are entirely natural in his own mind. However, young minds are malleable because they are eating experience and information in the same way they consume food. It is why guidance is necessary so they get the right kind of food and experience. Staring at mindless entertainment, or creating distorted gestalt storage is as bad as filling the body with junk food and refusing it exercise.
  4. Russian colony of the United States

Except no one made any such contract. The social contract is another myth by design. 'To be in this world and not of it' is a choice, but only if you know you have a choice. The manacles on mind and spirit are tenacious and are self imposed. Once education is over the recipient quietly locks themselves inside a cell without further effort. The bricks and Iron are supplied with an instruction booklet and the prisoner diligently follows the instructions provided. Reality is reality, it's form does not alter, but the social construct is built from the inside out. The prison cannot be known because it is created by the mind. The mind creates it from concepts and, the concepts have been skewed during the process of state education. Just as Orwell and HG Wells remarked-words and then concepts can be changed to provide a new reality. During the start of state education in the USA it was-I think-Dewey who had the intention of creating in the minds of children that the snow was really black. This is cybernetics and Eugenics.
  5. How can I get past, "...then what?"

'Being present' is what you are anyway. Even if thinking of the past, or future then this is from the now. I don't agree with Tolle at all as he seems to be suggesting that being present is actually trying to be other than you are and thus 'not present'. If that makes sense ?
  6. What are you reading right now?

Have you read Ayn Rand-'we the living' Taomeow ? Rand lived in Russia and it gives a very personal view point.
  7. who is tired of all this crap?

That can go sideward very quickly. The world is what it is, our perception of it is the unique part. It's easy to get those two swapped around into thinking we can alter the world by thought alone-been there, done that. Depending on how far that process is followed the eventual and inevitable wake up call can be pretty difficult to cope with.
  8. Does anyone here have a soda addiction?

Just whatever they served at the hotels which was probably commercial.
  9. Does anyone here have a soda addiction?

Pork fat is lovely stuff. This is what we ate as kids. Bread and dripping. They serve lard during meals in the Black Forest area of Germany and of course Sauerkraut which is very good for you-but I hate it. Fermented vegetables I can't do in quantity.
  10. Does anyone here have a soda addiction?

And the teeth.... It really does destroy teeth very quickly. What's more the teeth are far more important to overall health than they are imagined to be.
  11. Does anyone here have a soda addiction?

Easy for you maybe. Eggs cooked in coconut oil.....yum. The whites go really crunchy and they have a nice creamy flavour. I don't find grass fed animal meat easy to get hold of in our area.
  12. who is tired of all this crap?

Ok you asked for it :-) This is a great piece of work that dispels the recent myth that the UK is 5 times more violent than the USA. Yes, I really am posting a link proving that it is entirely bogus: https://dispellingthemythukvsusguns.wordpress.com/ the key thing here is that the USA is just more violent-guns or no guns and despite what the press would like to portray, U.S. Gun ownership is declining and the official figures are skewed even more because one person often owns several weapons. Rather than so many guns per head of population, the real figures are out by about 50% as a single owner/family owns far more weapons than the general population which evidently owns zero. Hunters in more remote areas where crime is very low can own a lot of weapons. The U.S. Is just a more violent place, if you aren't getting shot then you would probably be knifed instead. It's not the guns but the people.

:-) sometimes I read something like this and suddenly it all doesn't seem quite so hopeless. Thank you VKH.
  14. who is tired of all this crap?

Well I will just call them 'young' and 'inexperienced' but they aren't just self satiated, they are looking outside themselves at all times. At one time they venerated the elders in their families and their wisdom, but that's sadly getting broken down. The state does not want families interfering in their social planning. The old are most often regarded as blithering idiots and carted off to the old folks home whilst the family carves up the inheritance. Trouble is, in most cases the old folk are a product of the same system anyway and have little wisdom to give. I don't know if you ever catch adverts for the old, but they are shown as silly teenagers in wrinkly suits. Like they said in the Matrix 'no one can tell you what the matrix is, you have to see it for yourself'. It's not even hidden, but it is dense and complex. Things that look good can be bad. Take TTIP for instance. It's free trade right ? ( so good for the true liberal ) but then it's harmonised state regulation ( good for the left ). Same goose different feathers. Can't have one without the other so you get both. It appeals equally to the nationalistic instinct and the global collective, but neither are completely fooled and so it a 'compromise'. A synthesis of the Hegelian dialectic. You may describe it as a predicament will depend completely on your personal view point. To some people a prison represents the ultimate in security. That's why I said in my diatribe that you must have totally free choice. To make the choice you have first to have absorbed the tools which will allow it to happen-that's the trivium method. Make sure it's that and not the classic trivium or independent logic. Of course this is an earthbound situation. If you go off on esoteric enterprises then that might be where the secrets lie I cannot say what is there, personally I found nothing but a scrubby path that led straight back to the main road. It was a long detour in which I took in my sights and experienced many new things. Maybe you will find the path goes further I don't know that it doesn't.
  15. Urge to look into Freemasonry

Masons got there. Who do you think built the Death Star ? They even call him Master Veda
  16. Urge to look into Freemasonry

I wonder if the Star Wars 0B1KN0B was a spoof of that Masonic ring ?
  17. Urge to look into Freemasonry

Very wise. There is good/bad use of the Kabbalah and Tarot. It's like everything, there are two sides to it. The easy way is the big door, big path , then there is the narrow path, narrow way, the rarely chosen route.
  18. who is tired of all this crap?

All I will say is your argument is flawed. It's too much to go into purely because of statistics and that the UK is a different country from the U.S. It's not as clear cut as you might like to think, but you are entitled to your opinion. I would rather have access to firearms without registration and I'm as peaceful as a peaceful thing. It's unlikely I would ever need to use a weapon, but then, it's unlikely I will ever need my home insurance, alarm system, locks and bolts...but I have them anyway. Trust in God but tie up your camels. If something goes wrong in the UK, as it did in Ferguson in the U.S. When the Police refused to protect the businesses and homes of the innocent then what would you do ?
  19. How can I get past, "...then what?"

I would ask yourself what advice you would give to another person that asked you the very question you are asking here. What would you say ? Then, do that. :-)
  20. who is tired of all this crap?

Ok but you realise it is a class defining theory. It's the caste system ? The underclass of subhuman souls and the divine right of Kings. It's a system of control-A matrix of management to allow those who are at the upper end to take the productive effirts of those at the lower end. Each soul class takes from the next and holds their place in the hierarchy. It is a way of absolving those souls higher up the chain by rationalising their actions as overlords. They can instead be seen as altruistic creators, a ruling class of superior nobles simply fitting into the system. Now, say there was one, a type that didn't subscribe to the notion of hierarchy, an anomaly, a freak outside the system, but one aware of the systems of all the systems of control-occult or not. Why, then, that sort of person would see no difference between King and barbarian or, mature soul to immature soul. That sort of person would seek to bring down the foundations with the light of knowledge to expose the system so that those at the bottom might make a choice. You are wandering in a desert trying to make sense of the world. Trying to string together obscure, ancient and modern, to form a pattern. You are seeking to understand that which you are ever so dimly aware of through an education system which has cut out your eyes and blocked your ears to anything but their message. You are trying to rebel against it, to find a better way, but you don't know what you are rebelling against, it's a shadow that cannot be grasped because you do not have the tools to grasp it. You are slowly but surely inserting yourself back in the mainframe, because all paths lead to the ideology of non identity-subjection to the one. It doesn't feel like subjection, it isn't meant to, it's supposed to feel like home/safety/caring/the common good/unity. The maze is a good one, it was designed by the best minds, the most powerful wizards, the wealthy, the egotistical, self righteous tyrants. it is expected you would reject the very idea that you could be caught up in it, because they use your ego to bind you into a total disbelief that you could possibly fall for their manipulation. Yet fall you have.
  21. who is tired of all this crap?

We definitely agree on something then :-) I won't argue about soul age as that's something you believe in, but as long as the washing comes out clean who cares if it's fairy dust or soap flakes eh ? ;-)
  22. Urge to look into Freemasonry

Did you watch that video yet ? Now be a good time before you get drawn into the dark arts. The Tao flows both ways. This is a good balanced interview outlining the Tao-trivium method ( I know that's going to get me roasted on here but bare with it for the moment) and anti-Tao (classic trivium method). The trivium method is the path to Liberty and the classic trivium to enslavement. Guess which one the free masons use ? Some of this stuff will sound awfully familiar Plato, Aristotle, the seven liberal arts etc. the first video I posted shows roughly how the liberal arts are the key to understanding the Kabbalah-but only if the trivium method is applied the correct way-remember that whole upside down cross/devil worship business ? Put logic prior to grammar and a lock is applied, it's that black arts knowledge that is in the world today-it is the world of force and patriarchy and so the balance is messed up. Put the grammar first and order is restored along with-Christ consciousness/enlightenment/yin yang balance etc etc the cross goes the right way up and order/balance is restored. If you head down the higher order Masonic you are getting the seven liberal arts and the Kabbalah in reverse. This is the way of controlling the ignorant masses. It is the patriarchal way of power. The balance Yin Yang is the introduction of the divine feminine. It pointless getting into discussions and arguments as to what it means- there has been so much careful obfscuration about the need for the divine feminine that it has surfaced as a political demand which is completely crazy.
  23. who is tired of all this crap?

I'm more bound by reality here than in 'souls', but it is true that the older we become, the greater chance that we have acquired wisdom. I have heard it said more than once that no politician should be under the age of 55 for men. This is the age of declining testosterone and a goodly lifetime of hard knocks-women, wealth and power are generally not priorities anymore-the ego has settled to a life of less demand. It is said that it is the opposite for women. Declining estrogen makes them more egotistical. It's where we see the Hilary Clintons and Margret Thatchers and many will over compensate particularly amongs, young, ambitious men below the 55 bracket. Of course that's a lot of generalising, because many older men still hanker after youth, ambition, money and power like an addiction. They have spent so much time at their craft they no little else and haven't matured even into their 70s.
  24. 9/11 inside job?

This guys rhetoric is very dodgy. He starts with trying to force the listener to ask 'why' ? It is the 'begging the question' fallacy. NISE correctly began with when, what where to establish premise there was no need to ask why ? Only how. Next he makes claims stemming from the 'appeal to authority' by using 2.5K of engineers and architects. It's deliberately vague we don't know what claim these people have to specialisation in a subject. They might all be home designers and car mechanics and as such would have no expert knowledge what so ever. Even an architect and engineer of high rise buildings has little knowledge of the effect of ramming a fully field passenger jet into his design. It's not the kind of thing that is easy to simulate. Of course now he is on mainstream TV peddling his books. Conspiracy sells. It is interesting that it is coming up to election time and could be useful to damage one party over another. I don't know if c span is biased ?
