I havent yet got to ethics and values which is the core, the rest of the work is the preamble where am I ? How do I know it ? The final part is 'What do I do?' So that includes the ethics -reason-independence-productivity-honesty-integrity-justice-pride. Not in any particular sequence and not a complete list. These are my core principles. I simply apply them to every part of life in order to maintain or gain values I desire, then I enjoy the moment or the on going pleasure of those values.

Pretty good. I'm always wanting to hear a guitar break through, or a voice, but I listened to a fair portion of the first track without much trouble.
  3. Britain and the European Union

Mirrors the Telegraph votes which give it 70/30 to Brexit. It's also what Labour have found door to door and my own consensus amongst friends. It's also something overheard in Whitehall behind closed doors. All anecdotal of course.
  4. Britain and the European Union

We are receiving lots of support from Greek, Dutch and Italians even the USA. The socialists obviously want to leave as its a corporate capitalist system and the free marketeers want to leave because it's a crony corporate capitalist system. The only people it benefits are those running large, established multi-nationals and gravy train bureaucrats. The rest of us swim in their shit.

Leave voters remember tomorrow is Independence Day for the people of Great Britain. Let's make sure we get everyone to the polling booths between 7am and 10pm.

Possibility of EU Tarriffs on the rocks. Leaving will cause no changes because Tarriffs against Britain would destroy the German economy. http://order-order.com/2016/06/22/german-business-chief-calls-possibility-post-brexit-barriers-foolish/ Sent from my iPad

I found that I began to dislike the taste. I prefer chicken now, but try a steak every so often. I don't like a lot of meat either, we have a chicken breast between two.

:-) I spent some time at that school too. I don't hold to it. I prefer honesty and that will always upset some people. If you want it sugar coated then you had best look elsewhere. I don't know why you concern yourself about 'how this is working out for me' ? You use philosophy, you have no choice about it. You can choose to know the philosophic framework you use, or you can choose to remain ignorant. In any case its pointless to keep asking me questions to which only you have the answers. I can discuss philosophy and how it applies to every day life, but that's all.

Aristotle wasn't 'all that' if you follow my meaning, he also fell into Platonism, but a lot of good came from his work. Thomas Aquinus was similar in that respect and continues with the prime mover theme-obviously-but then religion is neo-Platonism. Aquinus applied logic and reason to religion, it was misguided, but not so misguided as those philosophers that wrecked religion to install collectivist subjectivism. They reversed Aristotle and declared that mans reason was unreason. Just as religion had sought to stamp out mans identity in a soft form, in the sense of a platonic heaven, later philosophers did away with that and strangled man where he lay.

Somewhat, but as I said, following a philosophy is simply adding to your junk, even if that philosophy is a good one. I wouldn't accept objectivism anymore than I would accept Kantianism or religion unless I had thoroughly questioned every aspect logically. I lot of people say they follow objectivism, but that makes it into a cult, very few of the so called 'followers' ever realise that Rand would not have wished for anyone to follow her. Indeed Peikoff has stated he would rather see objectivism die than have people follow it. Can you answer the three questions to your own satisfaction: where am I ? How do I know it ? What should I do ? It is not a case of answering these in the shallow sense, but being able to reason precisely how you arrived at your answer. These questions allow you to build a full philosophy, it is not simply a question for now. What should you do ? For instance is not simply about the next thing on your list, it is your entire ethical structure and values. If you grasp what I'm saying, then you can move effortlessly between the axioms of your philosophy and politics, economics, science and law. Each step is interconnected and based on the previous. You can run merrily up and down the steps from great theories to the non atomised fundamentals. Sometimes in the running you will find a loose, or bad step, something not properly defined or integrated and can set to with your tools to repair and make good.

If anyone is in any doubt where the EU is going they are evading reality. Cameron has agreed to fully 'dock' the UK in the EU. Heseltine has confirmed that the Euro will come to the UK. It takes a few minutes to see that the EU is already in the process of creating its internal police force and an army. It already has its flags and national anthem. Cameron has refused to agree to Veto Turkish membership. All the big banks and the financial institutions are in line pushing the UK into full membership.
  13. Britain and the European Union

Around 21 minutes in (I think) Heseltine says it 'that we will join the euro'. This is important because later he tried back pedalling it 'not in our lifetime'. I've long said that we will not get another chance at exit and our comittment to stay will bring a full EU superstate into being and we won't use any vetoes we might or might not have.

We have so much Stilton we build houses out of it. The new Wembley stadium was most built of Stilton with some cheddar where more strength was required in the construction.

I did get close to adding that in an edit, but decided not to be so childish ;-)

Ahhgggg it was closed. Still it blasted away the cobwebs and took some rubber off the tyre edges.

Right, I'm off on the bike to the cream tea shop at Muker. Scones with jam and cream please.

I buy it from the local supermarket but it isn't great, but it is sulphite free.

Do you think you might try and simplify your argument because it sounds like gobbledygook to me.
  20. The origin of mankind

I doubted that you would. It's one of the best kept secrets that we now make some of, if not the best cheeses in all of Europe. It's not suprising really, only that we took so long to realise that we have lots of grass and rain. We always had one of the best environments in the world for dairy. I guess that because we are in the EU we can't export our cheeses to the US. Another example of why we should get out-so the US can get to taste some fantastic cheeses.

I feel like that Apech. I seek wide open space free of people and opinions. On Friday I'm going to be like Frodo at the end of LOTR. I'm going to dissolve the fellowship of the 'leave campaign', drop my rifle, tin hat and pack, rip off my uniform and chuck away the boots. I'm beginning to see something that I was only dimly aware. That the reason I want us out of the EU is for the same reason I can't wait until Friday. I do not have the violent energy of youth which seeks unity only in and by conflict. I'm too weary for that kind of fighting. I want Britain to elope, to escape the madding crowds and seek a measure of introspective solitude. I do not want us having a seat on an round table of plotters and war mongers. I see why Churchill wanted a USU, because war was what he wanted above all, to him it was noble, it was the only thing that prevented him falling into long bouts of depression. So, on Friday, I'm going to set sail. I've done with fighting, let others do that in their turn, for now I feel the clock Spring has run down to nothing and I have no more left. I didn't want this fight. However it turns out I will not be compelled to join it again. Maybe if we should stay and the world burns, then something will come out of it, but I shall long be powder on the wind and my rifle nought but a tiny red stain on the soil.

It's got enzymes, it's what laundry craves. Lots of beer is inorganic for the purposes of being not being free of pesticides, chemicals etc.
  23. The origin of mankind

Well you should drink beer Junko, it's good for you as long as you can drink moderately. :-) I wouldn't know a biological one from a non-biological one, the only other product I've heard that of, is washing powder. I had some lovely cheeses and meats when I went to Arrau. The food was served to us at lunch time by the company who were providing the product training. Some of my, more Luddite, companions wouldn't eat what was on offer and sloped off to a burger van. To say I was embarrassed was an under statement, it was like excusing a load of savages. The cheeses were served at the perfect temperature; such exquisite care and respect for the produce. In the UK very few people take the time to serve cheeses properly, even in restaurants, so to have that experience in a factory was humbling. Switzerland is a lovely place, all though the gendarmes are a bit too keen on nabbing speeding motorcyclists.

And here is a reason why we should leave, that would seem to run counter to common sense, but we know from bitter experience that this empirically true: Professor Henry C. Simons wrote with singular clarity: 'War is a collectivizing process, and large-scale collectivism is inherently warlike. If not militarist by national tradition, highly centralized states must become so by the very necessity of sustaining at home an inordinate, "unnatural" power concentration, by the threat of their governmental mobilization as felt by other nations, and by their almost inevitable transformation of commercial intercourse into organized economic warfare among great economic-political blocs. There can be no real peace or solid world order in a world of a few great, centralized powers. That's a clear sighted observation considering the EUs increasing need to create an EU army, under pressure from the USA to push its nose into Russia. Here we see why the EU must eventually mean war. Small, independent states are more peaceful and wealthier. That has been true in all time. Larger states are inherently more war like and poorer.

If you ever make it to Britain then I would be pleased to ply you with the finest of cheeses-many made right here in the UK. We have an amazing artisan cheese industry in Britain, it possibity the best in the world right now. I don't know how much is exported as most manufacturers are small producers. We do amazing wines, ciders and beers too. Lots of micro Brewers. I know you don't drink.
