How often do you engage in stillness meditation?

Alas fate should have it there be neither birch nor willow at my dwelling place but i have a fine peach that I'am fond of sitting beneath. -
When I was in Peru many moons ago I went to machu pinchu. There on top of those beautiful emerald peaks the Inca built a village. In the centre of this extrdinary place there is a stone called the hitching post of the sun. This one singularly simple stone informed the Incas about many things. When to plant when to harvest. But most importantly they believed this stone help anchor the sun so it would continue rise and fall and return to earth once more. Life to the Inca especially after the spanish came to their land was very percarious so much so they didn't even trust the sun riseing each day. Once I was fishing off the rocks on a calm day with very little swell in a moment I turned my back to the ocean and a rouge wave knoked me off the rocks into the cold sea. Fortunately the wave knocked me into a quite cove. Trust is a funny thing you gotta have some but not too much.Regardless I have never turned my back on the ocean again.

I,ve recently made friends with a gigantic pine tree which grows in the back of my block. What I do is stand about 400mm from this wonderful pine, place my open palms towards its trunk and still my mind.Depending on my mood or the trees mood we begin to exchange life force. As a meditation I find it very beneficial.I feel grounded, happy and healthy. This tree must be over a hundred years old and has weathered many storms, survived drought and fire.As I exchange energy with the tree I get a sense of it's roots sinking deep into the earth and it's crown way above blowing in the wind. What the tree gets from me besides carbon dioxide I'am not sure, regarless my intention is a good one. The other thing I've noticed after exchanging energy with the pine is other animals i.e. birds, cows, kangaroos seem more torlarent of my presence even curious. My teacher has informed me that different trees have different effects upon us and the bigger the tree the better. -
Hey Grand. I have 12 75watt solar panels, which charge 12 2 volt batteries giving us a total of 24 volts. The DC voltage from the batteries is transferred via a inverter to 240 volt AC to run all our household appliances. Our system was installed in May 2000. I live in the southern part of Australia which is generally sunny except for the winter months of june, july and august. Now in the seven years we been useing solar power I can list the pros and cons of having such a system. Pros: No power bills,no pollution,no power failures, makes you aware of the sun shining, clouds forming, the shortest day, the longest day and the world around you. You learn to apprieciate how much you have and how much you'll need. The total cost of the system eas twenty two thousand Aus dollars we recieved a five thousand dollar rebate from the goverment which comes to seventeen thousand dollars. In the seven years we have had the system I've had to replace four batteries for a total cost of eight hundred dollars. For us to have been connected to the mains electricity would have costed approx twenty two thousand dollars plus monthly power bills roughly of hundred dollars. Cons: In the winter we sometimes can go weeks with no sun, which means no power, which means I have to run a smelly, noisey, polluting generator to charge the batteries. Some appliances use a lot of power i.e. washing machine, power tools, vacuum cleaner. This means having to run the generator. We also have a solar hot water heater.Beautiful simple wonderful technology get a unit if you can afford one or investigate making one yourself if your incline to useing your own hands. So I hope this helps Grand. I believe the way to make solar and wind technology work for you is get a expert in to your place and get them to do a cost free quote for you.Be realistic about how much power you use or plan to use and have your system designed around your power audit. I've just started to study with Matt Blacks teacher here in Australia. My wife has Multiple sclerosis and we thought that for her to be around the positive energy and practice some of daoyin exercises would do her good, which it has.One evening our Master had us drink some tap water which he had charged with his qi. From the taste we each had after drinking the water he diagnosed any possible weakness we may have in our bodies. This was all quite extrodinary as each of us tasted different things. Some salty, some bitter, some sour. so on. When I tasted the water it was distinctly salty on the first sip after that it just tasted like normal tap water accepted that I was left with a tingling in my mouth.Master Tao gave me my diagnoses which has aided my practise and in the choice of foods I eat and how I choose to expend my energy.
