In Taoism there always is a disciple and a Master without exceptions. This tradition goes back to the first recorded baishi of Huangdi becoming a disciple of Guangchengzi. Yes there were cases when an immortal of the past came to teach later person but it was the same teaching as if they were of one time period. The simpliest example is from WuLiupai School where Liu Huayang has been taught by Wu Chongxu who was born 200 years before Liu Huayang. Tradition knows of no examples of transmission from books. Taking the translation you suggested, Liu Huayang said that reading is like he is speaking to you. It doesn't mean that you don't need a teacher It is traditional term meaning becoming a student of a school. Helping talented person become a student of real teacher. Please be more specific. I see the main thing "awaken" critiques is so called "earning money". However it is nonsense and I will show all the members why. If "awaken's" claim is against WuLiupai in China - there is no way how she can "help poor chinese WuLiupai students" by writing on DaoBums. If "awaken" is addressing our Russian students - once again, writing here in English has no sense for them. But if she does it for English-speaking "WuLiupai audience"... - well, WuLiupai School is currently closed for the Western (i.e. English-speaking) world. We don't have a single WuLiupai student in the West, and you can find no any posts about WuLiupai recruiting students in English. It is a directive of our Chinese Masters and we will never do against it. We are teaching our English-speaking students traditional Yangsheng and Orthodox Inner Alchemy by Yuxianpai School (School of Ma Danyang). The paragraphs you are mentioning doesn't contradict each other. It seems the Liu Huayang's text remains completely unclear for you. Patriarch Liu explicitly says: 虽有智贤无所从入 yet you be smart and talented but you wouldn't have a thing to start (enter the teaching). That is what Huimingjing is written for. Not without reason there is a further phrase of Liu Huayang: 此馀苦心求师悟道之本愿也 It is my vow (yearning) in untiring seek for Teacher and realization of Dao. Dear "Taoist Texts", Aren't you yourself interested in such a check? If you are interested in spreading Real Dao, you should. There is a famous story in buddhism, about not-empty vessels of a students. Here we have the same situation. The vessel should be empty and clean prior to start before you would be able to start gathering purified qi (and forum posts also have energy in them, yes). So could you please give us an answer to the simpliest questions (simpliest for those who have been initiated into a true Taoist School): 1. It is absurd to refer to the words of Qing's Liu Yiming as an evidence not understanding the words of Ming's Wu Chongxu at the same time. In Wu Chongxu's texts you can find both about the small medicine and about the great medicine corresponding to two processes. Before trying to slander the School being respected in China for hundres of years it would have been useful first to investigate the basic terminology of taoist texts!
