If you do not like or agree with the flow, tone or conetent of discussion you did not start the solution is simple- do not participate. If it is a discussion you have begun, you can always have it moved to your PPD and have things your way. You are trying to establish a hierarchy among members that will never be recognized on TDB. Every member is encouraged to participate in any topic in the general areas of the forum without discrimination. If you want to lay out rules for discussion in your PPD that's fine, but your rules will never be recognized by staff nor will membership in any way be forced to adhere to them.

Rainbow Bean Salad 1 can Chickpeas 1 can Black beans 1 can Cannellini beans I can Kidney beans 1 ea Red, yellow and orange pepper Cherry or grape tomatoes Kale or leafy green on your choice Red onion English cucumber Lemon juice Lemon Zest Extra virgin olive oil Salt Pepper Rinse beans and chickpeas, set aside to drain thoroughly. Chop vegetables to your liking, add beans, lemon zest, juice, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Toss and refrigerate a couple of hours before serving. I do not measure much so feel free to add as much or as little of each ingredient as you like. Adding in herbs or hot peppers for a kick are great additions as well. In the photo below, I roasted the chickpeas with olive oil and a chipolte and garlic seasoning allowing them to cool completely before adding.

The direction and tone of posts were way off the OP. Warning a member is completely within the rights of a moderator to steer members and threads back on topic. If you'd like to discuss the importance or preference of in-person relationships over on-line relationships a new topic is in order.

Sure, we all have it in us to whack someone over the head with a Coke bottle. If the bottle weren't present would there be suffering because of the perceived need for it? (the question is rhetorical) It is a movie and an example of how things can and do cause suffering.

While that is true, I was speaking to the OP. It is specifically speaking about slums and suffering. My mind goes to a perception that those folks are suffering because they have less, and that is not always the case.

I am reminded of the movie "The God's Must Be Crazy" when I think about things or the lack there of causing suffering. These folks were happy until the object fell from the sky. They didn't know of it or have a need for it. Only once they had it did they suffer. Suffering in many cases is caused by a sense of lacking some thing, a perceived injustice or need of something outside of ourselves.

Are they suffering? Just because a person doesn't have all the ammenities that you or I have does not mean they are suffering. Many seem to be quite happy with what they have and are unconcerned about what they do not.

For someone who has a lot to say about flamewars and their viablity, you're pretty adept at keeping them viable. Warring it out is fine, but when we start naming names and making it personal, that's when things get ugly and the mod team steps in. To put it simple and to seve as a friendly, unofficial warning to everyone, attack the message not the messenger.

It is egotistical and pompous to make demands of people when the stated "means" required for discussion are not apparent and nullified by the very nature of such demands on others. A good leader, practioner or teacher should never ask anything of another they are not willing to do or to act in a way they do not emulate themselves.

Haha, yeah there are a few "spirits" that have done that. I do not believe this instance is one of those requests.

This is not about action, this is my opinion. There is a lot about discussion forums that are farcical and to tell another what they are qualified to do and to not do based on your own perception is just wrong. Seems to me that your stance completely negates your argument for educated discourse and accepting another person's point of view. I guess since this is your stance that we can expect that you will not be partaking in any discussions, comparisons or educational processes that you are not an expert in? Or, does this just apply to folks wanting to discuss AV? Ever consider that folks might learn more through comparisons and that perhaps current and future readers might benefit in some way?

There is not a soul on these forums who is qualified to tell another what they can and can not speak of or about. This is a discussion forum and not a place for anyone to tell another what they can and can not discuss with regard to practices. It just does not work that way here. Everyone is free to engage in commentary, critique or discussion no matter their level of dedication, experience or knowledge.

There are no rules on this forum that dictate who can discuss AV or any other system. I've been following your recent interactions in topics and I have seen nowhere where any person has said that any system is better than another. Broad statements such as those made here about discussing AV are quite contemptuous and not all the spirit of TBD. This topic might be better suited for your PPD.

There are some who would argue that we are too active. We intervene when necessary but mostly wait for things to be reported. Even then, we only take action when things get too personal.
