Lets Talk Obama - Was he a good President?

Transcript of President Obama’s Jan. 17 speech on NSA reforms Pretty eye-opening... -
Lets Talk Obama - Was he a good President?
Kar3n replied to TheWhiteRabbit's topic in The Rabbit Hole
It is bold and may very well be unprecedented, as far we know, therefore, rule of law should apply for violations of the 4th amendment and the guidelines that Obama himself put in place regarding NSA. My question is, if he would violate his oath of office to that extent, what else did he do that has yet to be revealed? I wonder what a prison term would be like for a former US president? Not that I believe it will ever go that far, some little guy will end up taking the fall. -

Spying is spying, just like the law is the law and should apply equally to every individual, no matter their affiliations. Obama's spying was on a larger scale, say... 1,000,000,000:1 just to throw out some numbers. Shhh, no one wants to talk about that... -
Why do I get sad (depressed), when other people feel sad
Kar3n replied to Sublimation's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I recently read an article by Bo Forbes, a yogi and clinical psychologist, that might be of some help to you. http://boforbes.com/yoga-practice-lab/blog/feel-pain-empaths-guide-staying-balanced/ And here is another on boundaries with some asanas to help. http://boforbes.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/july-august-feature-v2.pdf?9e2dc7 -
Admittedly, I do not know anything about An0maly, but his message in the following video is something to consider. Many news outlets and SJWs on social media want to blame Trump for tragic events like the Portland killer on the train. Have those news outlets and SJWs considered they could be contributing to emotional, violent, and sometimes homicidal outbursts by already mentally and emotionally unstable individuals by twisting facts to meet a political agenda?

My son in law bought it a flea market and did not know what it is. I might know a lot about gardening and plant varieties, but I am by no means an expert. Thank you, thank you! http://floridata.com/Plants/Acanthaceae/Justicia brandegeana/13

Anyone know what this is? It is vine-like with more papery than waxy petals. .

I would have to agree he did not go about it the right way, however, I can see more clearly now why he fled, likely to save his life. -
Human relationships with God flow with tears
Kar3n replied to Limahong's topic in General Discussion
I cried today, well not full on sob but pretty teary eyed 4 or 5 times. I am not much of a crier; there must be something going on in the universe, and I am totally ok with it. -

Poor Snowden, he got a bad wrap! -
I, my sister and cousins grew up climbing three of the biggest Magnolias I have ever seen in my grandparent's front yard. I can still feel the smooth bark, the texture of the felt-backed leaves, see the red seed pods in the black soil under the low hanging limbs and the sweet, earthy scent of the blossoms is still impressed upon me. Those trees were our friends, our hide out, our protector from an afternoon shower or the sun on a hot summer day, and so much more that makes verbalization near impossible. We loved them, I loved them and I believe they loved us. The memory of them is heartwarming; they were a big part of the best days of my childhood and their impact will forever be part of who I am. Thank you, @C T, for taking me back to a place I have not been in many years. It has been a beautiful, yet an emotional time of reverence and remembrance of my childhood friends that are no longer with us.

Learning about cultivations of human relationships between God & Women

Yes, of course, my sincerest apologies. -
Not disputing Buddha and the sutra when I say this, but to me not or no-self is more a realization and form of being rather than physical form. Think about a baby and how they really have no sense of self or ego. As they grow up and are conditioned by life and circumstance they begin to realize self. It takes time to again realize that there really is no-self. I am still mulling over how to, in simple terms, articulate impermanence and no soul as they both tie into no-self.

Maybe this excerpt might shed some light onto your question while I and others contemplate... "No-self or Not-self?", by Thanissaro Bhikkhu. Access to Insight (Legacy Edition), 24 November 2013, http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/thanissaro/notself2.html

There was a recent thread, prior to the upgrade, where the OP was banned and folks were commenting on the thread with the expectation of a reply from the OP. Finally, someone noticed the OP was banned and the conversation continued. I wonder how far the conversation would have continued without that realization? Banned or some other indication that a person no longer has posting abilities also keeps members from PMing to ask questions and is likely to keep the momentum of the thread going or to revive it with the questions asked therein. Ultimately, like I said in a discussion with my fellow mods, admin and Daeluin... Others may feel differently, and can I appreciate that. This is just another thing that has come to my attention that I need to work to let go of.

So you're telling me the Islamic State still exists???

Education and awareness are the best weapons against human trafficking. Having no fear of getting involved on a community level in protecting, defending and educating those most susceptible is a must! While human trafficking is a great topic, this thread is about the bombing in Manchester and the senseless death of a child. -

Bummer. I'd probably cry, ask for forgiveness and then pray a lot.

I can not find the video I spoke of above, but I did find a nice video of a fella grafting a persimmon. I would be hesitant to cut as much off as he did though.

I saw a video where someone grafted fruit onto the trunk of tree and produced results. It was a while back and I've forgotten what kind of tree it was. I am going to look around for it...
