Happy New Year, bums.
-
I sent you an invite. Welcome to the bums

You're welcome. I thought it might give you some idea about what is involved in becoming what you aspire. Well, here is a school in Thailand... https://chiangmaiacupuncture.com/index.html

A good thread started by a long-time member on this very subject... So you want to be an acupuncturist
-
I have not, but I encourage you to look on TWR's Facebook page and website before purchasing anything by him from a third party. There are guided meditations and teachings he has offered for free. Good luck to you.

Might try logging out of all devices and clearing the cache on your browsers before logging back in. Sometimes I am kicked off with an error saying my IP doesn't match up with my log in or something like that. Like my IP address changes mid-session. Hopefully it's just a small glitch and will right itself. Let us know...
-
Are you on your phone? Is there an error code or something that pops up to let you know something went wrong?

Google yoga hip flexor flow poses. I am sure something is out there. I recommend swan/pigeon, happy baby, frog pose and crescent lunges. The thread the needle pose is really good for loosening up the piriformis muscle. It's one of my favorites. You might want to incorporate some core strengthening to help with your posture while driving long distances. Good luck to you.

I wonder why it is anyone's business how "spiritual" another is? Surely those passing judgement can see the fallacy of measuring others by their "spiritual" barometer. How "spiritual" is it to put yourself in a position to tell another they're not "spiritual"?

So how about that edit, please? -
So you don't know the saying. It goes like this... Opinions are like assholes and most of them stink.
-
Well, because we base our judgements on, in most cases, from our own perspective with little to no consideration for the judged's. You know what they say about opinions don't you? Everybody has one and they stink... Views on being judgemental are hardly postmodern taboo. Just because everyone is guilty, doesn't make it right or worthy of acceptance as a way to interact with others.
-
Being judgemental shows a lack of self awareness and says more about the person judging than the one being judged. There is not a single person without fault and when we judge it puts us in position to be judged based on our own self righteousness and sense of moral and ethical superiority. It's really a vicious cycle and often times ends in bruised egos and hurt feelings though I am far less concerned about a person's ego than I am about hurting them.

I couldn't agree more... So what's the problem?
-
Those are general statements of fact, applicable to the masses. I and others are not offended by this truth, please try not to be either. It's really not just about you. We are all guilty.

The way TBD used to be was unmoderated as in pretty much anything goes. Law and order came to town and there was resistance. It is amazing to me that there is now a call for censorship and only discussion of the "spiritual" and the Dao. Somehow it seems to have escaped some that the Dao is all encompassing and that includes politics and twinkies.

Cool. Here are my results:

@shortstuff Ever hear the expression, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"? Same applies to sharing ourselves, our experiences, insight and knowledge with others. If those were your friends treating you poorly, you need to get some new friends. No one should take abuse, even if they are a compassionate person and have empathy for another's plight. You deserve better. Speak your truth with folks and let it go. You do not need to justify it or seek validation from others. Good luck to you and please share your book when you get it written. ๐

I've not read the book, but anti-depressants were not helpful for me. My mother passed away in a car accident. I had a very hard time coping with her death so I decided to see my MD at my husband and sister's urging. He prescribed Zoloft. I had not been and still am not keen on taking pharmaceutical drugs of may kind. I took the lower dose for 3 days. Two hours after taking the third pill, my exterminator, who I was expecting, knocked on the door and I was terrified. I froze. I did not open the door, instead I hit the floor. I waited for him to get started taking care of the outside and crawled like a combat soldier to my bedroom where I hid under the covers on my bed for hours. To this day, 15 years later, I am still puzzled by it. I knew Greg. He'd been coming to my house the second Tuesday of every other month for 5 years. I kept telling myself there was nothing to be afraid of, but I was scared and my body would not move. I laugh about it now, but needless to say, I have never taken another anti-depressant. I coped with my mother's death much better and rather quickly after that experience. It was a real eye opener.

I just skimmed the posts, I guess now I need to actually read 'em.
