I saved a pair of butterflies from of our pool a couple of years ago. I did not think they were going to make it, but I put them in one of my pots and said a little prayer; they dried out and flew away. I have seen a few around my flowerbeds since, and it always takes me back to the two from the pool and how I hoped they would live. The picture does not do them justice, they were quite large, and even more beautiful.

Difference between Intention, Visualization and Imagination?
Kar3n replied to Shad282's topic in General Discussion
I tend to dwell less on what I see and more on what I feel and know. Imagery and or visualization, whether conscious or unconscious, can hinder or increase connections. It is important to just let images rise and fall without attaching to them. I treat them just as I do thought, allowing them to float on by or to dissipate like clouds.- 16 replies

Immortality and enlightenment do not come without practice, practice, practice, and letting go of the aspirations for them. Good luck in finding a practice that suits your needs, and welcome to the bums, Mud Dragon, happy to have you here

What have you got lot lose? What so you stand to gain? I think Eddie Van Halen said it best... "Ah, might as well jump"

Difference between Intention, Visualization and Imagination?
Kar3n replied to Shad282's topic in General Discussion
I use intent to connect; imagery is a "byproduct" of the connection, just as increased energy flows, knowing and/or feeling what the person you are joined to is experiencing are. Not every connection will have the same "byproduct".- 16 replies

food a limitation on spiritual progress
Kar3n replied to Golden Dragon Shining's topic in Daoist Discussion
I did some reading up on paida, and it is extreme, going so far as to claim that diabetics do not need medication, they need to beat the crap out of themselves to rid themselves of the disease. This is self mutilation and abusive in the name of healing. If you slap yourself or have someone else slap you, long enough and hard, enough it is going to cause bruising, or what is referred to as sha being released from the body. I read accounts where some folks found it to be beneficial, and I might be able to agree if this were used moderately to stimulate blood flow rather than to inflict pain, damage to the dermis and underlying structures of anatomy, and sadly, even death. What is the necessary prerequisite for taking to spiritual path / pursuit?
Kar3n replied to Prasanna's topic in General Discussion
I have much thought on some of your statements, Prasanna. I am going to chew on them for a while before I comment further, but my thinking is much like 3bob's. I leave you with this question... How will they know, if we do not share knowledge?- 35 replies

I did a fitness weight lifting class for about a year where the instructor liked super slow motions. They will kick your butt. I found them to be particularly helpful for defining and strengthening the small muscle groups in the upper body.

food a limitation on spiritual progress
Kar3n replied to Golden Dragon Shining's topic in Daoist Discussion
For quite a while during and after meditation, I had a sweet taste in my mouth, very honey, like that kept me away from anything sugary. I am not sure if it has gone away or if I am just used to it, but I do, on occasion enjoy some good chocolate. -

What is the energetic cost of practicing Magic?
Kar3n replied to smallsteps's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Yes, yes, and yes! Thank you, I have never seen the need to store energy, for this very reason. -
If you do not mind my asking... Who is the you that you refer to often. In your writings?

Once you post something it is here until you remove it, unless of course it is against the forum rules. I like Blondie, and am listening to the song now. I have not heard this one. Your guess is as good as mine about what is going on here I hope and pray all works out for you, especially regarding your health. Bliss is nice, but it should not be a goal of practice, but rather something that rises and falls, like breath, naturally, as a result of practice.

Who said anything about replacing anyone? That was never implied or stated to me or by me at the time, nor has it been since.

If you have trouble, try using the basic uploader. If you have anymore questions about it, you can always shoot me a PM. I have seen the face of a dragonfly, a very beautiful blue one. I can not say I noticed the back of its head; I was too busy looking at its eyes. They are rather interesting looking creatures up close and personal. The Cool Picture Thread would be a great place for sharing your work, or we can create a space for only your pictures if you would like. Either way is perfectly fine. Happy uploading
