  1. books of rainbow body Dzogchen masters

Yes chetsun nyingthik is a good terma to receive as well - but not easy to receive Also nyala Pema dudduls termas and nyala changchub dorjes termas (CH Namkhai norbus root master, who attained jalü) Also I agree with diamond eye: the vima nyinghtik is essential as well as khandro nyingthik, lama yangtik etc. These initiations are still available in an unbroken lineage and in India not too difficult to receive Good luck with your study and practice
  2. books of rainbow body Dzogchen masters

Keith is one of my teachers I'm very grateful to him for his guidance But I have to say that I like Richard Barron's translation more "The precious treasury of the basic space of phenomena" Its closer to the Tibetan original in my view Keith's translations are usually more "emotive" he tries to capture the feel of what is transmitted (that results in some deviations from the Tibetan sometimes) Best just read both versions next to each other Its a central text that combines essential points of semde longde mengagde Its one of the text that is considered a dharmakaya guru (when one is ready for retreat - then this text can be the guide) Best is of course to have transmission, but then those works are freely available so I guess just read them as you please
  3. No-Thought-State / Two Questions

Thought or non thought Breath or non breath both miss the point and are the point without being a point above or beneath the point There is no point that's the point and not the point True mediation is thought by a true lineage guru (whichever lineage really) Before that is introduced its all about this state or that state going deeper or staying shallow... Just continue, that's the message I got always when I came to my teachers with this or that experience (I stopped doing that because I guess they will say "just continue") Just walk on Experiences are like mist they will evaporate

  9. The twilight language of the charyagiti

Dear ilumairen, Would you like to write some more of your thoughts? I'm specially interested how you resonate with what we say about the high priestess And what are your own feelings and ideas connected with the symbol of the high priestess (in the context of this thread)
  10. The twilight language of the charyagiti

It means something like There is nothing to be done - no worthwhile projects, nothing outwardly - the only thing we have to do enlightened or not is eat sleep and shit Its an epitaph for the great siddha beings - they live like that eating fish guts on the ghats (luipa) Sitting in trash and eating trash (tilopa) Etc They outwardly manifested completely asocial, crazy, dirty - so they are left alone to just enjoy the unitary nature of everything Just eating sleeping shitting Sometimes throwing stones at people when they approach without honesty Maybe read some mahasiddha stories, they are great and very strange and symbolic too, not dry philosophy very colourful depictions of inner alchemy Keith dowman translated the stories of the 84mahasiddhas + wonderful drawings by Richard beer Or also the divine madman - its about "drukpa kunley" one of the three great mad yogins of Tibet (also with great drawings of the different, strange happenings around him) What a funny bizarre and enlightening book Then busuku becomes even more alive maybe?
  11. The twilight language of the charyagiti

Its getting a bit "one sided"
  12. The twilight language of the charyagiti

    I'm happy to hear them
  13. The twilight language of the charyagiti

I'll post a new one soon Any remarks anybody?
  14. The twilight language of the charyagiti

Yes again the the emergence of a new shakta cult, I think it becomes more and more apparent The high priestess (the woman of the twilight, in the tradition of the charyagiti mostly low caste woman prostitutes etc. I think this again is a mere symbol for usual male misunderstanding and approaching the whole thing through lenses of lust and fiery aggressive passion) Love is the law, love under will ("will" I would equate with sahaja - the spontaneously arising samadhi or our natural non dual gnosis that flows like a river - if the dams are broken by the high priestess enough...) The five man in the poem that busukhu has to slay are the five skandhas Busuku means someone who only eats, sleeps and shits Its a name of mahasiddha shantideva And also CH. Namkhai Norbu uses it sometimes Dza Patrul called himself "old dog"
  15. Any Ken Wilber Bums?

Also I want to add: I'm trying to have no POV of my own, but then the scriptures say only the Buddha has overcome all views So now what I can do is listen to others point of view, challenge my point of view and grow Or just treasure my point of view and stagnate For me I never loose my POV in all of this - because I strive to abandon all POV, so challenging my POV through another's POV (listening), I can learn Learning is infinite, and one is never bored

Karl I have no time to discuss the two truth doctrine with you, but I agree with all you said. There are good and bad cults I'm part of the worst, but I'm slowly coming to terms with it and sobering up But you do misunderstand nagarjuna and his heirs, if you don't understand how they posit the two truths I would never denegrade the relative aspect of growth, beings suffering (mine included), social injustice and so on Also from my travels I know what I can do with this body before it breaks - and then don't do that. From there I can "guess" at least what others might need or want (mostly I'm wrong - but with good communication, others will at least know I'm there for them, and I sincerely try to be there for others.... Its tough, because I'm an egomaniac, ask my girlfriend ) Suffering needs to be faced its real - and experienced as real and intimately connected to "me" on a relative level The relative is all about connectivity and relations (for me at least) Well the ultimate? Maybe another time Also I don't know western philosophical terms Please do explain "pragmatism" - I get your point, I think, but would like some more explanation

  20. Michael's Tarot Corner

Tarot I feel more and more to be the aspect of the western tradition that I want to explore and see how it correlates with the tantric systems of India (as you can see they work with symbolism a lot as well) so thanks for the open discussion I learn a lot from that. If you would like to explore the subject of tantra from a jungian angle - There is a writer called damn... How is he called? He wrote "the psychology of tantra" and "preparing for tantra" A long term student of Tibetan Buddhism and also a trained Jungian analyst - might be an interesting read (especially "the psychology of tantra", I think he's called Adam preace or something like that...) If you got some spare time. I like his writing

Nice answer Karl, You know I just like to know what people are about, and I think we all are about very similar things essentially, its just different paths taken. Some like to sharpen their sword to a very high degree, its fine with me - I certainly like to play chess with nagarjuna, he's dead on a physical level but his reasoning is still mighty and fun to work with on a deeeep level. Wilber for me has the feel of easy digestible coca cola perennial philosophy, that's good - no offence I feel his grids are interesting - some people need and want that. I don't know if he is a cult leader, but then everybody is in some kind of cult or another (just labeled differently) When I met with nagarjuna I could do nothing but bow down and say - this is far beyond me... Still tying to figure him out actually So I like reason as part of spirituality, I need to feel sharpness from a teacher or I'm bored but then - others like symbols and big emotion and whatever else works to move them to move on... The wonderful daoists on the forum seem to like gardening Its all good
  22. "May all beings be happy" ?

    Happysilly
  23. Any Ken Wilber Bums?

Edit: Im mighty bored and out of here, so Just forget about it
  24. Any Ken Wilber Bums?

Its mighty great that you polished your sword so well - congratulations If you only use it to cut through "other" and never self, then you missed the point If you cut through self thoroughly other will vanish by itself The sword having nothing to cut anymore can be finally at peace Or just stay a nihilist love Mind I feel should serve heart and not stomp on others hearts May I say with respect and fearing the consequences What a useless sword you wield
